If an old man may offer you a tip - next time your boots are soaking wet, pack them with crumpled newspaper until it gets wet, remove it and open it up so it dries off, and pack it back in. Repeat several times. This will not dry them out completely, but will reduce the drying time. We never had hair dryers when I was a lad, but I am sure they helped you. Stay awesome :-)
Tip from my instructor here in Vancouver... wrap your feet in a plastic bag. I've never actually tried it though but sounded interesting. Also for cold when your jacket isn't enough and you forgot to pack extra; stuff some newspaper under the jacket for extra insulation.
For an even better tip: There are commercial products made especially for drying boots. They basically consist of a heating element and fan in a form that fits into a boot. In other words, a hair dryer that runs constantly and dries the boot from the inside out. They tend to be much lower wattage than a hair dryer because the idea is to be able to leave them drying the boot overnight and not have to worry about burning the building down. Given the propensity of Chinese manufacturers to take their Western designs, knock them off, and make them more -dangerous- _effective_ , I have no doubts that you could find some pretty good ones in China if you just look around.

This reminds me of one of the most terrifying trips of my life. In 2002, I'd taken the train from Chiayi to Alishan in Taiwan. But came back down later that day in a minibus / van. The driver travelled well over the speed limit almost the whole way down the mountain. Overtook through tunnels and over crests, ran red lights, sped around the hairpin bends, and past sheer drops, some without barriers at the time. Somehow he only managed to lose control of the vehicle twice (both on the hairpin bends). The only time he actually slowed down was when passing through thick fog. There were no seatbelts for passengers - well, there was, but they were inacessible under the slippery plastic seat covers. So with nothing to grab onto, we slid from one side of the seat to the other on every bend. When questioned back in Chiayi about his speed, he answered that there was a storm coming and he wanted to get down before it came. Of course the real reason was so he could get as many trips in his day as possible - because he departed for Alishan as soon as his next passengers were loaded.

Hey dude. A good cyclist's trick for wet shoes is to take any dry news print you can find and open up the pages completely. Then take a stack of 3 or 4 big sheets turn them diagonally and twist them like a towel until they are tight. Pack as many of these as possible in your shoes and leave them for a few hours. This can get my road shoes dry enough after working 8 hours that I can commute home with dry socks (assuming I packed a second set). It also helps to put the shoes upside down and at an angle for water vapor to escape as it is heavier than surrounding air. Your boots are going to be harder to dry than cyclist's road shoes, but the trick will still work surprisingly well. I was super skeptical when someone told me this one, but after trying it once, I always do this with wet shoes now ;) -Jake
Mercedes built a van for the Pacific market called the "Mercedes MB 100 from 1999-2004. The van in the video was a Saic Maxus Istana, which is based off of a Ssangyoung Istana. So they took an MB100 grill, and didn't even fasten it properly. Yes, Mercedes licensed their brand name to Ssangyoung. It's hard to believe, isn't it?
It's a Mercedes MB100 van copy. Originally made in Sth Korea under licence. Drove one a few times & it was horrendous. Slow, badly made, awful suspension & just horrid & scary to drive. Obviously after it ceased production it's been sold to the Chinese to make it even worse. But technically it's a Mercedes.
I wish you did a bit of research. That is a Maxus Istana. A licensed version of the Ssangyong Istana, which is also a licensed version of the Mercedes Benz MB100. So yup, its chinese made van and they replaced the grill from an MB100. And it uses an MB engine.
Aldrich Federick Villareal That’s correct. The early Ssangyong Istana did have Mercedes badges on the front. Most Ssangyong have Mercedes licenced engines.

They are terrible, horribly noisy, smoky, underpowered with awful gearboxes. Usually owned by schools and scout groups who can't afford a decent van. Not that I would assume a Mercedes van would be any better, a lot of them are really rusty and also look terrible. Funny to hear him say about Chinese tourists being fooled by that being a Mercedes though, as I have seen loads of people get fooled into thinking a Chrysler 300C is actually a Bentley, despite it being by comparison, tiny.

Apple logo was etched in the back and even apps had the same icons !
We used to have that in the late 90s here in the Philippines. Its called the MB100 van. It was manufactured in Korea and was badged as a Mercedes. A lot of families bought them even know they knew it was a SsangYong. But I guess just like the Hiace, the Chinese also made copies of them there.
omg good catch. I'd be so pissed, but you see that driving practice in South Florida all the time too. Drives me insane when people take the turn lane to cut in front of the line of cars waiting to go forward, and then suddenly try to push in front of the forward lane instead of turning. Even if it's a mistake and a forward lane turned into a turning lane, then that sucks for you but you gotta turn and then u-turn, and then right turn back onto the road you wanted to go forward on. It'll take 2 extra minutes, but it's just the polite, safe, sane thing to do. Bad drivers piss me off to no fuckin end, I swear to god

I'm not sure I'd want traces of Chinese newspaper ink in my boots.
Another vote for newspapers. Thought everyone knew that trick
I've had wet shoes where i just change out socks a bunch of times. Socks pretty efficiently pull out the water.

This is par for the course with Chinese manufacturers. They simply can’t come up with original ideas. They’re great at stealing other manufacturers ideas, and reverse engineering it. The problem is, that what they make is built down to a price not up to a standard.
They can but they make more money by stealing ideas and building with very low quality standards. $$$$$$ Thats all that matters in china.

Apparently in South Korea, this same van is marketed as the "Ssang-Yong Istana".

LDV was formerly a British company who made and supplied vans. It stood for Leyland Daf Vans, untill it was bought by AvtoGaz, the Russian company who formally made the Lada Riva etc.
@steve gale I think I am confusing myself with Avtovaz, who made the Lada cars, the Riva was based on a Fiat 124, though heavily altered through its life. Avtovaz is now owned by Renault.

I was super skeptical when someone told me this one, but after trying it once, I always do this with wet shoes now ;)

One of the biggest things I like about Winston is that he doesnt end the video with a beg for subs lol. Keep up the good work sir.

Mercedes built a van for the Pacific market called the "Mercedes MB 100 from 1999-2004. The van in the video was a Saic Maxus Istana, which is
based off of a Ssangyoung Istana.

Most Ssangyong have Mercedes licenced engines.
The best way of drying out boots is scrunched up newspaper, put on radiator and change newspaper regularly (can be reused). Also works inside wet motorcycle jacket sleeves.
In another video of yours, you have mentioned that even the car dealership where you bought your car was going to slap a Toyota emblem onto your car.

It actually is a Mercedes Benz MB140. Those Chinese versions were built in the late 2000s by SAIC. Original version stopped being produced in the 90s
I have seen LDV Vans sold with that logo in New Zealand. They are presumably very cheap vans. LDV used to be a British brand and you still see a few old ones today.

2:21 even the weather scam you!! lmao 😂😂 😂
The van in the video is in fact a modified version of the Mercedes-Benz MB100. SAIC Maxus (the manufacturer of the van in the video) gained the rights to the MB100 platform when they acquired a major stake in SsangYong, who was manufacturing the MB100 under license from Mercedes-Benz. So although the Mercedes-Benz logos are an aftermarket addition, it basically is a Mercedes-Benz van. Agreed
