Yesterday I've found a 345 model at the recycling center and since it has some issues, I've binge watched several vids of those 5 CD Sony carousel players. And from this I've noticed how the internal build quality got continually worse with each new model. They've always implemented some simpler mounting solutions while using less and less matirial. Oh, and mine has got two belts, bet yours got at least one.
Just purchased a “mint” one and love it. While it looks brand new, from the inner tray to the exterior, it sometimes skips disc because it thinks there isn’t one in the slot when there is. Any idea as to why that is?

I disassembled it and replaced the two old internal straps with two elastics, now it is perfect.

I am dealing with the same issue and can't get a fix. The unit will not recognize a brand new disc. Need to know what the heck is going on, thanks!
