I feed my jaguar cichlids these hikari sticks. They are a good size stick and they love the taste of them.
Tank Mates for jaguar cichlids. Just started project of 75 gallon canopy which when done will match the stand. Still need to mount lid with hinges and knob then sand and paint. What kind of fish can I put in a 20g long tank that has a female betta sorority, 3 snails and a BN pleco? I've read that you can put schooling fish in the tank with female bettas but no fin nippers.

Little update on the Mandarin as he came out while I was cleaning, I think he's gotten bigger already! He still seems happy hunting copepods! 😍 can't quite tell if something has had a nibble on his tail or not, I'll have to check next time he's out and about. He seems calm anyways no signs of stress.

First batch is 2 weeks old now. They are doing great :) I love watching them swim around and eating their food. The Hikari First Bites from Petco REALLY work!! I tried newly hatched brine shrimp for other batches and they never showed interest and eventually died off, but this stuff works wonders and it is only $3-4!!
My red rainbow has been eating my Flowerhorn food for about 3 months now "grand sumo red" and I've gotta say! It worked better on him than it did on my Flowerhorn! Need some advice! While I have several tanks, I've only had a Cichlid tank for about two months. I'm doing water changes today and just discovered that I have FRY! Tank is a 90g with a good bit of structure and hiding spots.
Clyde must enjoy floating, he spends most days at the top and runs the tank at night. He's had ample opportunity to disengage from this piece of grass but he doesn't. . LOL I need some help making a decision friends! I have this big tank in my room waititing to be filled, I can fill it now and only put 45 gallons of water in it (mom doesn't want 55 gallons of water upstairs, we don't ask why) OR I can wait who knows how long and put it down stairs and fill it all the way.
Should I just say screw it and set it up now? Should I wait till I can have it down stairs? Or should I fill it and move it down stairs later?
I want my goldfish to have more room to swim.

I added a Jag yesterday to my tank and the aggression attitude of two my fish was calmed down by 100%
The Jaguar is probably one of the nicest cichlids that I have ever seen. A bit on the aggressive side.
We kept our jags in their own tank (though they did have a HUGE pleco) they were a breeding pair and they were highly territorial and other than the plec that kept to himself and stayed out of their way they'd eat and hunt everything that went in that was not their own fry. They were amazing parents though, but once their babies were grown, they had to go they did not tolerate their kids all grown up, I guess there was too much competition and the kids needed to move out. I've been out of it for years now but man I miss those jags they were awesome!!!

I agree with you a jag is a ticking time bomb especially when hit maturity they will jist about rip the face off any tank mates ..best if kept alone..besides why risk a beauty fish like a jag to get tore up..
Ive got my jag with 2 cubans 2 green terrors a jack Dempsey and a texan. He does a bit off kicking off but not too bad

Hello, I've ordered fish on line and they were supposed to be peacocks but I think one might be a jaguar cichlid. Don't know what I will do with him.Kinda scary to me.

Palmer Fish Cave yeah looks like it.i got 3 and thought two of them were males.i was wrong when i vented them.i got 1 male out of three.males have alot of spotting on belly.female not so much and faded.
