Rise in power to all those that have lost their lives .As you are doing we need to keep raising awareness of these prevailing issues both good and bad in the Gambia.
I have lived in the Gambia on and off since 2005. There have always been attempts to set up a group to support the diasporans however this has never materialised due the clashes of egos, competition and other behaviours that should have been left in the west by the diasporans.
This is still the current climate amongst the so called "diasporan community". The are many diasporans doing great invidually however there is no unity and definately no community.

Such a shame, I've asked so many people on numerous occasions but all i hear about is drama with one group or another, it's really sad. How can anyone take us seriously when we can't come together as a people on anything. Thanks for sharing, I truly appreciate it. Peace & Blessings

So the diasporans have badmine turn up in them ??? It's disgraceful.
They won't come together because they have a materialistic mindset and in competition with each other.
      Black people are in trouble.

I love all of what you have said..

The only thing about them is their racism.

Diasporans would have been better to build an estate and their own communities..I didn't realise how divided they are. Badmine and jealousy is rife.also fakeness..
Gambians is the least of the diasporans problem, they've made enough of their own and its the women.

my gambian fellow says its a tourist country especially by the beach and many africans with ill intent are also attracted to the area. we have to work harder on fear of god and character building amongst our race to help us be better and one day lead with righteousness not our color. many western minds dont like to accept the reality that women just being women are targeted as vulnerable compared to men who may be differently targeted as well as a new incoming community. women need men and people need community with righteous principles for strenggth and power

It seems we should not believe them. Some of the youtubers are acting like the white media in America when Black folks are harmed. The first thing they do is question the mental health, next is to dig up any negative personal information, even if it's a family member's negative background. The same degrading of those two sisters happened in kenya as well. I'm not understanding this protection of some African countries when it's obvious that things are not as portrayed by some.

    • @borncritic7122
      @borncritic7122 7 หลายเดือนก่อน

@thehungrymom I don't doubt that views are destroying many today. I watch a lot of videos about africa. What is getting tiresome, is how Black America is being held responsible for many of Africa's problems, especially by many who call themselves pan African. So many youtubers lied about africa and fed the Wakanda fantasy and now that some things can't be swept under the rug, it's the victims fault. If you guys knew what and how some Africans and carribbean elected officials are sabatoging our efforts with reparations, holidays and degrading our icons here in the states, you would become leary of " we are the same", " brothers and sisters ". I'm beginning to believe we were lied to, it wasn't called a slave "trade" for nothing.

People , please still come! This is not Gambians doing most of this. Unfortunately as the police said yesterday this is being done by Foreign Nationals who are bringing their foreign ways into the country. A senior police official said, "The idea of such crimes is imported too." I am an AA male living here and Gambians don't even think like that! This country is way way safer than the U.S. Most of this stuff is happening in Kombo South which is somewhat isolated and remote. People are moving there because the land is so cheap. Me I wouldn't build a house down there if I had to live by myself.
Listen, in the U.S. you can go to the Mall or a super bowl parade and get mowed down! So does that mean you will never leave your house in the U.S.? And they can get you in your house in the U.S. with a home invasion. My suggestion is if you are looking for a super super safe place then stay in Senegambia when coming here. It is the tourist area. There are many but 2 such places are the Mariama Apartments and across the street the Princess Apartments. Both are fully furnished and gated with watchman and are as nice as what you will find in the U.S. Mariama's is about $350 month and Princess about $400 month. But you will have to pay 3 months in advance to get that rate. Nobody will bother you at either place and your thngs will be secure. This is where the Americans and Europeans stay. If you want, you can stay there for years until you find something better.

Please do not indict all foreigners. I am a foreigner living in the US and I would hate to be judged for one person's indiscretions. This is about one individual. After all it was a Gambian who recently killed two police officers and wounded one couple of months ago. We did not indict all Gambians. Sierra Leoneans are very kind and hospitable people. Sierra Leonel is one of few African countries that practice open immigration. You can live in Sierra Leone illegally for many years without authorities bothering you. This is one individual. As a Gambian, I have been robbed, scammed by even a Gambian Anglican Priest. Let us wait for the full investigation. Condolences to the families. Please do not indict all foreigners. This can happen anywhere especially the US!

This has nothing to do with foreigners in general. For now it is alleged that the perpetrator is a Sierra Leoneans. Please stop indicting foreigners. Some of us are foreigners living in the west and it would not be proper to judge all of us for the indiscretion of one.

Most Gambians worship those kind of people, which is extremely irritating and used to drive me nuts before I move to the USA. I am a Gambian living in The USA, so I know what I'm saying.. I don't even know why AAs are moving to such a poor and chaotic country. There are lot of better African countries with way better infrastructure than The Gambia and lot more civilized...I advice AAs who want to move to The Gambia to instead move to Rwanda, Ghana, Tanzania, Kenya or Benin. Do yourself a favor and move to a country that has infrastructure and civilization.
