Red Top Fire Lookut and the Agate Beds of Central Washington

Due to the long drive and late start this was a short hiking day of only 3 miles. The fire lookout was amazing, it was only half a mile each way but the last quarter mile had a 300 foot elevation gain which is super steep! After the warmup we decided to do the 1 mile hike to the agate beds. We eventually found the agate beds which consisted of hundreds of holes dug onto the hillside, because the mosquitos were unbearable we did not stay long but had some great conversations with rock hounds digging. If agate hunting I learned to bring all of the proper tools and a bucket for the spoils!
