I came across that very situation back in 2010. I had a little side hustle making MCU development tools for hobbyists. I was getting my boards from the US until one day they arrived and they had accidently left a packing slip from a company called Sitopway Technology Limited out of China. On my next order I contacted them directly and found I could get the boards plus full assembly (including price of components) by going direct to Sitopway for less than the cost of the boards alone from the US company who were doing exactly nothing for the money they skimmed.

Funny, I guess I was not the only one that has been down that road. So sad that electronics have been almost completely relegated to China. I fear the day will come that this will bite us and we will really feel the pain from it.

@@LynxElectronicsLab The interesting thing is, the US exports more than twice the ICs to China than China imports to the US. So the US is very much still in the electronics game, but it has relegated itself to the manufacture of components for export and has mostly given up on the manufacture of consumer electrons.

I don't know what this channel is but I think you would be one of the few who has not. Even etsy is ruined by junk. There is a LOT of stuff that they do great, but some things NEED regulation. Even though being sued sort of seems like "The price of doing business these days".
