Honda Civic Wiper Blade Insert Replacement

  • Replacing the wiper blade inserts on a 2013 Honda Civic, no tools required. The procedure and part numbers are the same for 2008-2015 Civic sedans. Sure, you could just buy a universal fit wiper blade and replace the whole thing but why not just replace the part that's worn? Plus, the original wiper blade is usually better quality and better looking than the universal ones so it's better to just replace the rubber insert. See the links below for the parts I used:

    Very helpful video. It is also useful to know that the metal ribs are designed to go in a certain way, (not just facing inward). On each blade, one rib has two notches and the other has one notch. They correspond to little nubs on the rubber insert. The one with two notches also cannot be flipped lengthwise if it is going to fit properly, as the notches are different distances from the end of the rib (as the nubs are). Kind of difficult to explain but if you examine them you will see.

      Yeah, I tried to show the notches and how the metal ribs are supposed to be oriented but your explanation is good for anyone who needs more detail.

      Great call!
      Just learned this myself.
      Otherwise pretty easy, even with removing the blade component from the arm.

    Thank you for your helpful video. You instructions were very clear and easy to follow. I like that you showed how to do this with removing the blade also. Since I had to do this in the cold weather, it was more comfortable for me to remove the entire blade and replace the insert in the warm indoors. Thank you!

    Great vid! Minimum of time wastage. My 2012 civic blade inserts did not come out so easily. I needed to grab them by the center and pull hard downwards. I think the blades are original. Otherwise everything went great. Blessings to you. - Paul

    I've always replaced the inserts on every Honda I've owned since 2005. Aftermarket blades never work as well as the Honda replacements

    • @Mikeattempts
      @Mikeattempts  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      You can either pick up universal wipers (check lengths first) or you could get the same exact wipers that came with the car from a local Honda dealership or online. The part numbers are 76620-TR0-A02 and 76630-TR0-A02 for my 2013 Civic.

    • @Mikeattempts
      @Mikeattempts  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@guddergo7116 In my opinion, I would say that the Honda wiper itself (the insert holder) is higher quality than aftermarket but the wiper insert (the rubber) is probably about the same.
