    Finally got around to getting these installed in my ev Niro. Fit perfectly, and the install was very easy - maybe 5 minutes (minus sweeping the carpet). A couple of additional notes:
    1) For those who don't have experience with KIA and similar mats, they slip off the retainer clips by pulling the front of the mat up and toward the seat, at which point they slip off the hooks.
    2) my carpet is black, so sharpies don't work to mark the hole for the retainer. I just used a push-pin tack to mark the hole location. As your video indicated, jamming the retainer's pin into the carpet was the hardest part of the install - a very minor quibble. I do, however, wish all these aftermarket replacement mats could just tie into the existing retainer hooks.
    I'm now prepared for the wet season ahead. I agree that these are awesome mats. Thanks for the tips!

    No raises edge in the back because of the heat vents. A raised edge will impede flow. And may disform the mat. Most of the water that is accumulated in the winter is in the driver footwell

      You are correct. This video is from 2019 and I have three other videos about Tuxmat mats since then. There were no issues over 3.5 years with Tuxmats. I still love them and bought the new version last month, for my EV6 and made a video showing the differences of the new version.

      @@EV-olution , the 2017 (9.5 gen) Accord Hybrid really is an awesome car, but it is also a one year special. With it, I have been able to go one full RT longer on my commute, now I fill up once every 4 days instead of the 3 days I was getting out of my 2016 Mazda6. The 10th generation Hybrid has the exact same powertrain, but a 2 gallon smaller fuel tank. Wouldn't give me the range I was looking for.

    I have used weather tech for past 10 years and they were ok but not perfect. These tuxmats are much better. First there is protection for your left foot that weather tech did not have and it just protects overall more carpet and they feel softer to the touch. I recommend the tuxmats that I have on my 3 cars.

      I have another video about having used them for 1 year, during winter, and it shows that my carpets under the mats are like new even though I had slush and dirty water in my mats during winter. If you put enough liquid in the mat to submerge the retention clip long enough then yes, it will seep through, but that would be a large amount of liquid so the carpets would be the least of your concerns.

    I know for a fact that all, and even this brand, that not every cars can get a deep edge. Depend on the car. I had a college that had a Mazda 3 and had a mats that was about 3-4 inches deep because that car floor was like a box. Just like yours. I couldn’t have the same for my Versa. Now. • @EV-olution
      @EV-olution  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      I made this video based on my personal experiences; I have owned Weathertech mats in more than one car and in the province of Québec we get a lot of snow over 5 months of winter which gives a mix of snow, slush and water, mixed with salt that is used heavily on our roads. In all of my previous cars over the past 34 years, including with Weathertech mats, I have had dirt, water and calcium buildup in the carpet of the car. With these Tuxmat mats I had no dirt, water, or calcium (see my 1 year later video), which really impressed me. I can only speak from my experiences, but if you have no issues with Weathertech then there is no reason to spend money on anything else because Weathertech is still a good mat. I hope this clarifies things and thanks for watching 🙂

    Hi Andre,
    Firstly, a good attention-to-detail and very well described. Great job.
    I thought of going for Weathertech but thought twice because of the half cover for kick pedal. I've got two questions for you:
    1. These liners' surface seems to have padded leather finish. Not sure if that provides a good grip while getting in and out of the car. Are they slippery when shoes are wet/snowy? I found Weathertech liners to be slippery with wet and snowy shoes.
    2. These liners look chunky compared to Weathertech, Husky or others. Do they eat up the leg space or give you the feeling of less leg space in your car?
    Your suggestions would be helpful.

    • @EV-olution
      @EV-olution  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Thank you for the compliment, I appreciate it. Regarding your questions...
      1) The mats are padded with a finish made of some sort of rubber/plastic; I am not quite sure what they are made of, but I have not had any issues with slipping with snow or water. No more than with my previous car's Weathertechs.
      2) There is no loss in space that you would notice. Losing 2mm of height, compared to Weathertech, because of the thickness is nothing, and I really like the extra soundproofing the Tuxmats offer.
      The only negative I can offer is that they are softer material than the very hard, shell-like, Weathertech mats. If someone has spikes, or pointy heels and would press down hard, it would go through the surface of the mats, but with boots and shoes I have had zero issues and still highly recommend them as the best mats I have owned.
      I hope this helps and thanks for watching :-)

      I agree 100% about locally made products, but the Tuxmat product is so much better in terms of protection that I can't justify buying Weathertech. One partial plus side is that Tuxmat is a Canadian company, it's a shame they don't produce their products in Canada.

    • @EV-olution
      @EV-olution  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      That's a shame! I am surprised because the Silverado is a very popular truck, you would think they would make them. One thing though, I suggest you call them, it is possible that the newer models use the same mats as 2018. They offer pretty decent customer service on the phone. If you do call, please post your experience here as I would like to know since I suggest their brand. Thanks in advance.

    This company only makes floor mats for the latest model of all manufacturers. If you own a 6 year old car that’s paid for, you can’t get Tuxmats. I’ll stick with my Husky mats.

    • @EV-olution

      Correct. This is something I mention in my review of the 2022 version of the Tuxmat. Since I changed to a new car I got the new versions that are easier to install (driver side). It is a shame that they don't make mats for older cars, but I understand why they do it. Although some models go further back than others; Mustang mats go back a few years.

      Unfortunately it seems that Tuxmat does not keep a back catalogue of mats, which I think is pretty stupid since they had already made mats for the 2018 Soul. I made this video 3 years ago and since then I have learnt that they only have them for newer vehicles. Oddly enough, I am fairly certain that before the pandemic they offered mats for more than 2 or 3 years of vehicles. It is a shame because a 2018 is not old.
