As a high heel wearer, I am so happy to see that it completely covers the driver's floorboard. My heels often cause rips in the carpet, so this will protect from not just the weather but from wear and tear. Thanks for the detailed video
I just ordered a set of these for my 2023 Subaru Outback Touring XT. They are expensive, but I am very impressed with the overall quality and durability of these mats. They literally looked brand new after cleaning. Compared to typical OEM floor mats that don't even begin to cover the most exposed areas (dead pedal, behind brake/accelerator pedals), these are in a different league. Can't wait to get mine installed.
I will be purchasing for my 2018 Honda Civic hatchback sport manual in a few weeks after summer starts! Thank u, you did a much better job explaining than the website 🙏🙏
I am glad I could help, you are going to like the mats. As soon as they make them for the Kia EV6 I will be buying a set; I miss them since selling my Niro EV. Thank you for watching my video, I appreciate it.
I have a 2018 Civic Hatchback EX that I am obsessed with. The only thing I wish it had was a true manual transmission. I miss going through the gears and feeling the road, especially with that legendary Honda short throw and awesome suspension. They didn’t have the manual in the EX trim level.
This is the reason why I bought mine yesterday at a good deal from a private seller for my Crosstrek. The front and back and trunk for $240 and the results after 2 years in this Canadian weather. I'm sold. Tks you
I have these in my Model X. By far the best mats I have ever owned. Great fit. Great protection. Easy to clean. And so far after two years no sign of wear. Also great looking!

Andre, thanks for your detailed original video of the Tuxmats and your follow-up EQ on how they still look great after 2 years...I have had WeatherTech mats in my last 2 vehicles and today just purchased a set of the Tuxmats. I look forward to receiving them and installing them...keep up the good work and yes, I also enjoy the bloopers...
You are going to love the new mats. One note, the textured surface seems to have been improved and the heel pad is supposedly larger now, with the factory anchor points being used instead of the central one like on my older mats. Tuxmat did not want to send me a new set to review and update so I don't have first hand info, but I saw some pictures in a Facebook group. Thank for following, I am glad you enjoy my videos 😎
Great review on how the car mats look like after 2 years, they definitely look in good condition especially with our great winter with la gadoue ;-). Also love your D&D t-shirt, remind me of the good old days in the '80 playing with the basic set (red box).
I purchased the tux matts a bit after my comment, they work amazing!!! 100% worth $200 American , it was a bit pricey but it’s amazing quality, I didn’t use any of the pins to hold it down it place , just the ones that come stock in the car that attached to the Matt, I do not worry about getting the stock carpet dirty ! I would recommend if you work with dirty and stone to vacuum or remove any small items that would rub against the Matt. The Matt is very very very tough but just in case!

Thanks for the video. Those Tuxmats are holding up well. I owned a Ford F150 for 17 years and with 201,400 miles on the odometer, the inside looked tired. Luckily, when I first bought the truck, I installed seat covers and carpeted floor mats. Before selling it, i pulled out the mats and seat covers. The carpets looked new, with the usual leaves and crumbs around the edges. With the exception of a small tear on the outer edge of the driver's seat caused by constant in-and-out abuse, and a hole where my right heel wore through the carpet and left a dark area beneath, the interior looked new. I should have replaced those mats at 150,000 miles. I like the looks of the Tuxmats but carpet underfoot sure adds to the luxury feeling. Since my car came with low coverage floor mats, I'm thinking I could install Tuxmat for protection then put the existing mats on top to keep my feet happy, then pull those out when camping or heading to the snow. I'm in California. We have to drive to the snow. How to keep the carpet mats from slipping? I could install snaps or use velcro. I'm obviously in design phase here. Anyway, thanks again for the video.

@@Smellyfupa I am a big fan of quality floor mats, but if you don't use the vehicle for dirty work, or have young children, then seat covers are not really needed as long as you vacuum the seats occasionally. There is also the question of heated/ventillated seats, where covers reduce the efficiency of the heating, and cut the cooling.
My pleasure. They are great and after 3 years in my Niro EV and over 3.5 years in my wife's Soul EV, the protection is just as good. I got the new version Tuxmats for my EV6 and made a video showing the differences with the 2019 mats.
Just an FYI... I did not share this video in any of my usual social media, like Facebook, or any of the forums I am part of. If you would like to help by sharing this video, I would really appreciate it. Thanks in advance 😎
Thanks for the video! I've owned Weathertech mats for my WRX for almost 3 years now and I find them really hard to clean up. Was on the market for some mats for my mother's new car and seeing how they looks after a simple wash like that, I think I'll recommend these for her Kona. Cheers from Quebec! =D
@@EV-olution I put in the new Tuxmats today. The acoustics inside the car have improved big time, I noticed it as soon as the doors were closed. I put sound deadening in all the doors a couple weeks ago which helped and the mats added to it. The Rav4 is a nice looking car but seems more like tin than metal ,anything you can do to keep the outside noise out is a huge improvement. Love the mats even more now.
Thanks for your series, very well done and informative. I’m just about to acquire a 2020 Niro EV EX Premium so viewing these will serve me well. Congratulations on your success and we appreciate your efforts.
Thank you very much, I am glad you liked it. There is a newer version of the mats so you may want to watch my newer video about them. They are still awesome. th-cam.com/video/G2kyqEadpbs/w-d-xo.html
I have had the Tux Mats for over a year now, both in my eSoul and eNero. I have had issues with the passenger side mat in the Nero sliding forward and I wish the same mechanism that was on the drivers side to hold it in place was available for the passenger side. Funny that I do not have the same issue with my eSoul. But outside of that, I am very happy with the purchase. On another note, for the Soul, I was able to get a mat for behind the rear seat but not for the Nero. I had to purchase the back Nero mat from Weather Tech. Strange. BTW, I like the EQ format. Cheers
For the passenger side mat in my Niro EV, it also move a tiny bit, but with the 3 edge clips I have installed it barely moves. Did you also install the edge clips? Regarding the rear mat for your Niro EV, I don't know why you could not get it. When you purchase the mats on their Web site there is an option for front only, or full set. I'm glad you like my new EQ series; it is a bit of an experiment and feels weird to not share a video on all of the social media platforms I use. I have decided to let viewers share them instead because the social media part takes a lot of time to share and to reply to all of the comments. Thanks again for watching 😎
@@EV-olution So you were able to get the boot mat? I must have had my eyes closed when ordering as I got both the front & rear but I could not see the boot option. Cheers.
@@stevecarter8869 ah! Now I get it. I thought you meant the rear seat mat. No, the boot mat is not available from Tuxmat, only from Kia and Weathertech. Sorry about that.
Awesome review! I am narrowing down my choices from WeatherTech (have had before on a 2011 Chevrolet Equinox LTZ, and they are tough too beat), and Tuxmat. Have a 2018 Honda Civic EX Hatchback that I baby. Looks showroom condition! The very first upgrade was the high-wall rubber Honda Civic branded mats and they have served the purpose well, but I want to get mats that have a higher sidewall. Thanks for the 2 year durability test. These may be the way to go for me!
Thank you very much and I am glad I could help. In my original Tuxmat video from 2019 (th-cam.com/video/w_nbn7U5DXE/w-d-xo.html) I show why I prefer Tuxmat to Weathertech, which I had owned in other cars.
This was helpful. I've always been a weathertech person but recently bought a new to me 3G RDX and i like those these look a little bit more pinky up, which I think fits the Acura a bit better.
You may be interested in seeing the new version of the Tuxmat car mats since they are a bit different now. I made a review video of them here: th-cam.com/video/G2kyqEadpbs/w-d-xo.html
Thanks! Unfortunately Tuxmat does not have a trunk mat, only the front and rear seat mats. Weathertech does make a trunk mat for the Niro EV though, and so does Kia.
I just got my Tuxmats for 2022 Kia Niro EV and it fit perfect with original Kia standard clip that used to hold OEM floor mats to the floor.. I didn't have to needle in custom Tuxmat clip on the floor to secure the mat... Has Tuxmats changed now to be compatible with OEM clips over their own clip that needs to be needled in the floor to secure mats to floor?
Nice idea. Funny is, that I cleaned my e Niro right before I looked at TH-cam. Seats dont look good to me. Is that realy leather and the shine will dissapear?
Hi Andrew, it will be interesting to measure your battery health and compare it with your initial data if you have such and if possible to show us charged AC vs DC kw/hr ? Great video !
Thank you very much. Regarding my battery state of health, I use Torque Pro and the EVOBD2 device that I made videos about last year. In both cases they report that my Niro EV battery is still at 100% SoH. I doubt that this is the case after 44,000km of use, but it does mean that the natural battery degradation is still in the upper buffer of the battery, the portion that we don't have access to, meaning that I still have a full 64kWh of battery available.
I really like the mats. However the locking tab on the driver mat broke.(the plastic washer on top) Still trying to get Tuxmat to sort it out. I sent pictures to show the broken part and was sent the piece that pins to the carpet. I called again, explained it was not that part and they sent that pin again! I was able to flip the broken part upside down and lock the mat in place. I think because of the manufacture they'd have to replace the mat. I'll give them another call/email before winter. The help desk did have a fast response👍📞
I am surprised that you have a problem with getting the replacement part. I read a comment from a viewer about 2 years ago, and they also broke the lock ring in the mat, but received a replacement lock ring very quickly. I suggest removing the lock ring from the mat, taking a picture of it by itself and sending a new e-mail to their support.
I love how detailed you are in showing different aspects! Thank you! This isn't standard right? I think the standard Is more the textile mats and the rubber ones are extra?
Thank you very much 😎. The Tuxmat car mats are an aftermarket product that I bought to replace the standard textile mats that came with the car. Since we have lots of snow in the winter here I wanted to protect the carpets and metal floors under them. I made a video about buying these mats, you can see it here: th-cam.com/video/w_nbn7U5DXE/w-d-xo.html
@@EV-olution Ah! The salesman told us the textile would handle the snow we have here in Sweden as well (leasing), but I guess rubber is still better..?
@@swekiwi4517 since you are leasing it is a bit different as the car will be going back, but how many years is the lease? I am not sure how much snow accumulation you get in Sweden and for how many months it lasts, but the textile mats won't protect the carpet from snow since the kick pedal (driver foot rest) has no protection, the textile mats have no sides to hold water, and they are not meant to contain anything other than a little bit of moisture. One problem in this question is that Tuxmat does not sell to Europe, only North America, so you would have to find another brand.
@@EV-olution Thank you! The leasing is for 3 years. So there will be at least 3 winters and we have a lot of snow in Sweden. Maybe a tad less than in Canada, but a lot during the winder period, which is during at least several months. The interesting thing is when I was pushing for rubber ones the chief of sales noted that it wasn't necessary, but that the boot/trunk might fare well if I had a lot of dirty things in there (like my foldable bikes and such), so I'm getting a rubber mat which I can cut into shape myself. But it does worry my some about what you just said... The model I presume is a MY21 (this years model).
@@swekiwi4517 I just received an email from a subscriber in Europe and he bought Spartan Liners which are identical to the Tuxmat. I hope you can get them.
Do the rear seat mats noticeably reduce the rear passengers' foot room? The floor height is already a little high because of the battery, wondering if this is thick enough to make the rear seats less comfortable.
Thanks for the update video. Got the Phantom mats from Costco for my TLX. These are a must for harsh Canadian winters rather than rubber mats. Do you dilute the Hertel Plus?
Glad I could help. I use undiluted bidegradable Hertel Plus. FYI, I have a new video about the new version of Tuxmat that might interest you. You can find it in my Tuxmat playlist on my TH-cam channel.
I just put these tux mats in my TLX and must say the cut and fit is amazing… even better then I thought they would, didn’t even need to use any of the clips
Wow these fit like a glove and look good after two years. One of the things I asked for when I bought my bolt was weather tech mats. They are a little too rigid but ok. I had to trim odd places of the rear mat because they stuck out enough to trip my kids and interfere with the driver seat move front & back. Lief from Winnipeg 🫡
I really appreciate you taking the time to watch so many of my videos. Thank you very much. If Tuxmat interests you then you should check out 2 other videos I made about them. The original 2019 unboxing, installation and Weathertech comparison video, and my new 2022 Tuxmat review with my EV6 because the mats have changes since 2019. Tuxmat offer better coverage than Weathertech and I am very happy with my new Tuxmats as well. Thanks again.
I agree 100%. I have 2 more recent videos because I changed cars and got the updated version of the Tuxmats. Here is a link in case you are interested: th-cam.com/video/G2kyqEadpbs/w-d-xo.html
Allo Andre. Great video to show how the mats hold up. When I saw the driver side retainer hole in the bottom of the mat I thought the carpet would be stained under it. Being in Ontario I can get alot of snow and salt in my vehicle as well. Do you do anything special in the winter to collect the melted snow so it doesn't get too deep and try leak through the hole?
Thank you very much. The mats keep everything in them and if I were to let lots of snow accumulate and melt, the lock hole would probably leak, but I have always had a habit (35 years of doing this) of sitting in the car first, with my feet outside, then banging my feet together to get most of the snow off, then I pivot my feet into the car. This way, the small amount of snow melt evaporates from the heater. If I were not to do this then I my alternative would be to occasionally use a bath towel to absorb and remove the water accumulation that would normally accumulate in the mat. Also to note, Tuxmat now ships these mats with a plug to cover the lock hole. I never got one since I bought ours before the plug was available.
Tuxmat is another brand of aftermarket car mats. I have had Weathertech mats in my previous cars, but the Tuxmat mats protect much better and I think they look much better. I use them all year long. I have 2 older videos about them if you are interested. They are in my Product Review playlist here: th-cam.com/play/PL9MtbqtkE-2pmih9w5qN_dlDXgMtye8-z.html
Thanks, and I agree that it is a shame that they don't sell Tuxmat in Europe. I seem to recall a comment from Facebook, or here on one of my videos, about a product that looked exactly like Tuxmat and sold on Amazon. It may be worth looking into.
Correct. This EQ episode, as stated at 00:55, is to answer a viewer question about what they look like after 2 years of use. I have several Tuxmat videos (yes, I like them that much 😎) where I explain how much I like and recommend them. If you are interested in hearing my full opinion, then I suggest the latest Tuxmat video I made because there is a new Tuxmat version, so I reviewed them: th-cam.com/video/G2kyqEadpbs/w-d-xo.html

@@openequation6404 a while after posting that I updated the thread with information that my car stopped making the very light clicking noise. I never bothered calling my dealer since the issue became a non-issue and nothing has been done to my car since, other than 2 brake cleaning services.
Are these slippery when wet? My concern is I have a low slung sports car, that has aggressively bolstered seats, and wide sills to step over, so when climbing in I find that on Weathertechs your first foot in can slide away from you. My second question is are these super squeaky when wet? I mean more so than something like Weathertechs? Thanks!
This video is of the older version of Tuxmat mats and they were a bit slippery when wet. It was not an issue in my car, but in a situation as you are describing they would probably slip. The new version, however, has a new surface finish and would probably not slip. Neither squeaked for me. You can see the new version of the mats in my last Tuxmat video.
Your voice cadence kinda sounds like Carl Sagan. Not that there's much of a market for it but I bet you could perfect it and do a killer impression of him. Not sure why I'm mentioning this but why not, lol.
They don't bother me at all. In both this installation and in my EV6, with the new version of the mats (I have a video about them), I only have 2 clips for the driver side. I only take them out two times per year for the full washing and the clips take 2 seconds to undo. If you remove the mats regularly then I can see it being more of a hassle, but they are in my car all year round

My pleasure. They are great and after 3 years in my Niro EV and over 3.5 years in my wife's Soul EV, the protection is just as good. I got the new version Tuxmats for my EV6 and made a video showing the differences with the 2019 mats.
thank you so much, this sold me on the tuxmats. Love the bloopers.
They really do an amazing job protecting the car. I just wish they made a trunk mat.
Sure looks good, can't wait to get them in my Rav4. They definitely dress up the car's interior big time giving it a plush look.
I agree. I like the way they look and I leave them in all year long.
What did you use to clean the mats?
I use a biodegradable cleaner called Hertel Plus.
Thank you very much.
Awesome video dude! I am ordering tuxmats for my new car after watching your video
Thank you very much, I am glad you liked it. There is a newer version of the mats so you may want to watch my newer video about them. They are still awesome.
th-cam.com/video/G2kyqEadpbs/w-d-xo.html
You're getting great at this! Well ✔
Thank you, I appreciate it 😎
Couldn’t ask for better mats. I’d love to know more about the scrub brush you used.
It is just a regular hard bristle brush from Canadian Tire.
@Jeff Menard I just remembered, it is a pool brush and I think I bought it at Club Piscine a long time ago.
Thank you! Looks awesome! Ordering for my Volvo now
You may be interested in my newer video about the new version of these mats. I love them. th-cam.com/video/G2kyqEadpbs/w-d-xo.html
Loved the info and the outtakes lol
I am glad you liked it and that it could be of use. FYI I have a 2022 Tuxmat video because I bought the new version for my new Kia EV6.
Nice. I may just get a set although I think I only need the front row and trunk. I’m in wet BC and I Am in and out of my car a lot.
Yes, they redesigned them to make them easier to install. I tried to get Tuxmat to send me a set to compare, but they refused.
Nice idea. Funny is, that I cleaned my e Niro right before I looked at TH-cam. Seats dont look good to me. Is that realy leather and the shine will dissapear?
The Chemical Guys Sprayable Leather product hydrates the leather seats and yes, they will get less shiny. In the video I had just treated them.
The don't change a thing as far as I can tell. They just look awesome and protect well 😎
Thanks for the update video.
Best mat hands down. I bought the Costco version which is Phantom mat. It is a must have for the snowy Canadian winters.
Are Tuxmats like the WeatherTech floormats for KIA?
Tuxmat is another brand of aftermarket car mats. I have had Weathertech mats in my previous cars, but the Tuxmat mats protect much better and I think they look much better. I use them all year long. I have 2 older videos about them if you are interested. They are in my Product Review playlist here: th-cam.com/play/PL9MtbqtkE-2pmih9w5qN_dlDXgMtye8-z.html
That was quick! 😁
🤣😂
What vacuum you use?
I have the ShopVac brand, wet and dry, and have had it for years.
Hello, we're can I buy this mat?
Hi. Unfortunately Tuxmat mats are only available in North America 😒
www.tuxmat.ca/
Why oh why they don’t make mats for the UK market - couldn’t find for the right hand drive 😢. I love your videos!
Thanks, and I agree that it is a shame that they don't sell Tuxmat in Europe. I seem to recall a comment from Facebook, or here on one of my videos, about a product that looked exactly like Tuxmat and sold on Amazon. It may be worth looking into.
@@EV-olution I did find them on Amazon but still not right hand drive 😢
Sorry to hear that.
Other than the text bubble, you didn't comment in the video on what you thought about the Tuxmats after 2 years, and if you'd do it all over again.
What is your actual mileage on the car? How is the Engine/Gear noise after the engine replacement?
My Niro EV has just over 46,000km driven, I never had any parts replaced and I don't have any noise issues.
@@EV-olution You wrote on Jun 29, 2019: I am really happy that I found this thread. The clicking noise and ”dirty brake” noise are present on my Niro EV during lower speed acceleration and deceleration, but were not present until a few weeks ago; I thought I was going insane. I will be contacting my dealer and will direct them to this thread. Thank you very much for all of the posts here.
@@EV-olution www.speakev.com/threads/braking-regen-noise.138230/post-2670628
@@openequation6404 a while after posting that I updated the thread with information that my car stopped making the very light clicking noise. I never bothered calling my dealer since the issue became a non-issue and nothing has been done to my car since, other than 2 brake cleaning services.
I see I'm not the only one that the lock cover doesn't stay in place. It didn't stay a month on mine.
I never had a lock cover. I bought my mats before Tuxmat started including them.
Here is a link: th-cam.com/video/G2kyqEadpbs/w-d-xo.html
@@EV-olution Thanks! I will check out the new video.
Any recommendations on a comparable cleaner here in the 🇺🇸 would Home Depot have these?
Sorry, I am not sure what a comparable US product would be for Hertel Plus cleaning liquid.
Nice video
Thank you 😎
Better than Husky Liners??
That is a question I cannot answer because I have never had any. I hear good things about them though.
@@EV-olution I have them but they don’t cover as tuxmats now how they are now you owning them are they finished or still in good shape? Also can you pressure wash them?
This is an older video and I sold my Niro EV, but after 3 years they were still like new and my carpets were also like new. I bought a Kia EV6 and got the new version of the Tuxmats. I made a new video about them last year. You may want to check it out:

Does it snow there?
Yes. I am in the province of Québec in Canada and it is currently -20C. I have several videos that were made in the winter, and one in particular is about EVs in the winter: th-cam.com/video/fepat58rgIQ/w-d-xo.html
Got mine almost brand new for $40 front and rear for 2016 range rover 😂
That is fantastic!
Just wish I could buy them in the U.K.
I wish they would figure things out in order to sell in Europe.

Johnny Depp reviewing car mats? awesome...
Well, that's a first for me. I usually get Wolverine 😎
Johnny Depp? What are you smokin'?
About 30 seconds of content spread out over 7 minutes.
Fortunately for you I included chapters so you can simply skip to the part you want to watch.
Your voice cadence kinda sounds like Carl Sagan. Not that there's much of a market for it but I bet you could perfect it and do a killer impression of him.
Not sure why I'm mentioning this but why not, lol.
😎 I get that comment occasionally on my older videos, and I can hear it.
Lets not pretend the clips are not annoying.
I didn't learn anything!!!
Immediately took them out and sent them back.
Why did you return them?
These types of comments are generally from haters, trolls, or the competition of the product being reviewed. It is possible that the person is an actual consumer who was not satisfied with the Tuxmat product, but a lack of reply usually indicates otherwise. FYI, I bought 3 sets for 3 of our cars and have zero regrets with Tuxmat. You may be interested in seeing what the new versions look like.
