First, I must state my starting point: I greatly loved Skyscraper's 2016 video, lyrics, and vocal duet. Regarding "Goodbye For Now", this is my favourite song of the LP and, in my modest opinion, the best heartbreak lyrics ever (especially between 2:13 and 4:10). In an astonishing musical crescendo after the initial Jeremy's lyrics set the stage, Julien Baker's background vocals and words, reaffirming the grief of a love relationship ending and colouring the remainder of Jeremy's hopeful but crying intentions and emotions, are viscerally beautiful. We have all been there, Jeremy. All our love to you. And congrats on TA's lovely sixth album.

Im so grateful for this band and this song especially because im going through a rough time breaking up with a woman i love so deeply but we unfortunately cannot continue to , we are too toxic for one another . its the hardest thing I’ve ever had to do. Letting someone go when the feelings are screaming not to . Im so tired of the constant battle in between the brain and the heart. When it gets too intense and im noticing myself spiralling down this song is what brings me back into my functioning self .
So grateful you guys exist.
