I was actually playing around the other day with them both. Yes, Autoshift definitely introduces some artifacts. I'd say it has a "warm tape" feel to it - kind of liked that dirty sound at first, but quickly realized that it's not meant for every vocal use. Whereas, with Antares Autotune - it introduces a pleasant "Clean Tube" feel with every vocal performance.
I agree, AutoTune cleanly tunes the vocal. AutoShift darkens & digitizes the sound with tuning. Unwanted artifacts & clicks don't happen to me as often using AutoTune Pro. However, AutoShift can definitely be useful for background vocals or things that don't need the presence of a modern pop lead vocal.
@ReidStefanMusic 100% correct. Im sure they will nail it with future updates. This got me thinking: Do a comparison between Logic Pitch Correction, FL Studio Pitcher and Autoshift. Then maybe a separate video between Logic Flex Pitch, FL Studio Newtone and Antares Graph Mode?
I definitely noticed some artifacts during my tests too. I thought that might've just been me. Thanks for pointing that out. I haven't been relying on autoshift for most professional work but it's definitely been great to play around with. Great vid as always Reid!
Stoked to have this for free in Live but honestly would probably never use it for anything other than tracking. It sounds so much less natural than most other tuners even waves tune realtime. Great video! ❤️🙏
auto shift sounds a bit raspy and dark while autotune is clear and has a nice top sheen so i'd have to add some highend air to brighten the vocals while using auto shift with something like fresh air. My use case would probably be layering harmonies with it or earlier in production.
Those are in my top 3 remaining feature requests too 🔥 my number one feature request is pre-punch recording so you can get back singing that happened before you pressed record too late like Pro Tools. Ableton already has background MIDI capture but no audio version
@@theflo.loudnoizit’s only listening while the playback is going, and if you don’t punch record during playback that background recording file gets deleted immediately. It’s not like a surveillance camera
Yaaaah finaly bro ....i was waiting for that fo long time ...u r the best with karra ....❤❤❤❤ U r the best ever ....so .....why u choose Ableton live as ur main daw ..over than other daws ...i wish u make a video about that soon olz ❤❤❤
I like Ableton for the fun Stock plugins, making beats easily, and manipulating percussion loops with Beats warp Mode. I’m not the type of puppet to choose just 1 daw for everything tho 🔥
It’s a custom scale note needed for the song’s melody. The scale is customized in both plugins, so the settings match identically with B added to the scale
Use some stock plugins along with auto-shift and tweak to taste. All you need is a good mix and final product....no one will even know....who will know if it was autotune or auto-shift, no one will know!
Everyone: how about ARA compatibility like every other DAW has had for years? Ableton: uh, here’s a shitty version of autotune that is basically useless. Everyone:…gee thanks…
To be fair, nearly every autotune knockoff sounds like a knockoff when compared side by side with the real plugin. Especially to a generation of listeners who have been hearing actual Autotune algorithm since the 1990’s

Hit em wit da Sickness (that was sick) -- You're a Boss!!
Even with its faults, still seems pretty impressive for a stock plug in. Great review.
@@SpeedRacerx89 I agree! It’s still the best vocal plugin in Ableton 🔥
love this puppet so much
How I’ve longed for the realest intro in the game
The best intro eva, always
It’s production time 😊👍

I love auto-shift but auto-tune will forever be my sauce 💖

The most creative puppet in the game for real!🔥
Perhaps with envelope following eq auto shift could be made to sound more crisp ? Either way, the difference was noticeable.
ok ableton now give us stem separation or a bigger plugin open button

Bro spitting facts
@@ReidStefanMusic Freezing groups is my number one. These projects with 120 channels are too heavy for my PC.
The clarity and volume are better with the Antares, that's true, but for a free included stock plugin not bad at all.

Thanks for watching 😊
Thanks for this video ❤
In your comparison, you seem to have turned "B" off on Ableton's Auto-Shift. Think that may have made it at least closer to Auto-Tune?
It’s a custom scale note needed for the song’s melody. The scale is customized in both plugins, so the settings match identically with B added to the scale
awe ♥
Have you set the mode in Antares Auto-Tune to low-latency or was it using the slower hq algorithm?
Low Latency mode was enabled as well as Classic Mode for the best latency performance
yayyy now i can recreate Arab money!!
edit: I don’t even have ableton lol
Dont make anything too fire, Mr. In the Game. We don't want a fire on our hands.
Hell yes brother man…. Puppet man… bro puppet….. bruppet
Happy auto shift exists but it needs work from ableton to reach the required level.
I agree it could be better, but it also doesn’t “need” be be a direct autotune killer. Having different plugins with different flavors is helpful too
Ableton needs stems!

MetaTune Vs Auto Shift
that bandlab vocal tuning is Nooooo joke.idk
Fine line between creativity and ruining the song.
Everyone: how about ARA compatibility like every other DAW has had for years?
Ableton: uh, here’s a shitty version of autotune that is basically useless.
Everyone:…gee thanks…
ARA compatibility would be awesome 🤘
@ it’s getting silly that they don’t have it after 4 years. Meanwhile they spend time making useless apps like note. Help the pros out ableton!
3:46 nah what the hell
Too much modulation 😅
Sounds like shiii compared to antares 😂

Barely registers as different
To be fair, all auto tune sounds horrible.
@@ReidStefanMusic It is crazy how antares nailed the autotune algorithm in the 90s and since then no company has been able to come closer to them
