i been making music for couple of years now and as of now I have used mostly free plugins and I am pretty confident that these are just tools and the person behind them is the sound!!!! and btw watching these videos always give me a refreshing feeling, awesome job Karra!!!!
This is by far the best vocal production video I've seen explaining every step of the way from start to finish. Thanks for this! Will definitely come back for reference. One of the main reasons I've stuck with writing instrumental music is the amount of work and knowledge that goes into a polished professional vocal mix. This video is GOLD.
Im feeling that song love.Iam a current student at FullSail University, and I been into music for 20 yrs but really I am educating myself to 0ne day get to your level. I got 1 year to go before I get Bachelors in Audio Production, keep that up its banging be blessed!!!
@iamkarramusic im so excited that u finally made this video. I bought ur template about 6 months ago and it sounds nice. I never made a song yet cause my tuning was off and I couldn’t tell, my channel strip is tuned to diff temp that i use for literally every song so you basically reminded me that i needed to recalibrate my strip. Ur tutorial rlly blessed me frfr.
I like the portability and built-in reverb of the Neumann a lot! Prism sounds just as good, but it doesn't have any special DSP features to improve your low latency headphone mix. The prism does however have all the inputs and outputs I need to connect every speaker, analyzer, analog gear, and mic in my studio, whereas the neumann's I/O is more limited
@@iamkarramusic OK cool. It’s good To know that thr Neumann can compete with the prism as far as AD/DA conversion. I’m testing out the MT48 now. I use the Apollo X6 and X4 as my main interfaces. I really like the Neumann but workflow with Autotune and the other plugins makes me stay with the Apollos.
Outta every video on TH-cam this might be thee best hands on also with a vocal chain I’ve seen yet without just showing one plugin an then forcing me mid video to buy there template 😂 but overall this was definitely a gem 💎 u an your husband definitely golden
This is incredible , sound is superb , 20 years I use cubase and never was able achieved such sound , I have lynx - too thin for may taste and second is prism Orpheus , sound is excellent but cubase is sounding narrow IMHO , Did you have chance to compare prism ad da , because neumann mt , merging has lot more density in low end an overall sound , voice is transparent bright and stereo image on logic is unbelievable , It is time to buy Mac and logic ......and mt 48 Funny that I am thinking about buying same setup and find your demo Thank you Excellent work and voice😮
I agree the built-in reverb included with the Neumann MT48 is magical! Unfortunately there's no Neumann Reverb plugin to add in the mix, it's only in your headphones while you sing
@@LilPerseyif you record MT48’s digital inputs 30-31, your wet reverb signal gets recorded as stereo audio in your DAW so you can rebalance your reverb levels after you record if you want to keep Neumann’s reverb
Clip Gain on not bounced trakcs leads to bad settings for the compression. It will compress much more than it should due to higher source gain. You need to bounce your track before adjusting the Clip Gain.
when its doubes or background vocals they can hit the compressor harder, without being as noticable. Especially because they were recorded with lots of headroom
A very beautiful and talented woman. A true influencer. Because of you, the world continues to have hope for women who truly fight for their dreams. Thank you for everything and much respect. 🙏🙌
In this tutorial i challenged myself to use zero analog hardware. In my day-to-day work I always prefer to record thru analog gear, and capture that thick consistent & harmonically rich sounding audio signal, before applying any plugins. I haven't directly compared the Logic emulations to the hardware yet, but I'd imagine the hardware sounds slightly better in a mixing situation. I personally only use the analog hardware for recording, never mixing.
Hey Karra did you learn Music Production at school or self taught. I am 35 years old and just started learning Music Production and I feel like it can be so overwhelming to all of this. Do you have any idea on where to start
I simply started by learning how to record vocals, exactly like in this video, because I am a vocalist & it comes more naturally to me! So maybe find an aspect of music that you feel called to & focus on that. Like if you want to learn how to program drums, focus on drums first!
I better stick around because i just watch you use Ableton 12 and now your using Logic Pro 11.I wonder if you will use FL Studio 21 or maybe Cubebase or Qbase.
The difference is during recording. Protools is always recording audio in the background so you never miss a take if you punch the record button too late. ProTools also has more keyboard shortcuts
When I watched your producing a hip-hop song, I loved your shoes. The shoes have black on top and white on the bottom. I believe you said they were socks as your answer to my question. But I was looking for the shoes you wore with socks on your feet. Where did you get the black and white shoes?
Can you help me? I’m a disabled audio production student and student of many genre courses but I can’t do this yet. Maybe because I haven’t found a recording vocal course. It would change my life to be able to do this. I’m so tired of struggling alone in pain. It’s scary when I can sing and sing jingles and hooks all the time. ❤ hope this triggers some ideas to coach people or something.
mic latency is not a problem when you have an interface that provides the DSP for built-in EQ, Compression, and Reverb! As you can see I mute the channel I'm recording onto in Logic so I don't hear myself twice
In this scenario the instrumental was already mixed & mastered, but when I was making the official version for my album we mix everything as we go. Then we sent it to a professional mixing & mastering engineer for the final sound. In this video I’m just focused on mixing vocals for the demonstration & lesson!
