    So deserved, and Sigourney should have totally won for best supporting actress!

      I totally agree, Genna Davis, a great actress, but what Sigourney did is magnificent, a well-made villain, she deserved the Oscar, plus she was also nominated for best actress, one at least would have won.

      @victorrodrigueesoficial 4 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@superyoutubemiranda9800 A little unfair to compare because Geena Davis was actually lead, and Siggy was supporting. Geena was incredible as Muriel and much better than William Hurt, whose character was insufferable. I would still nominate Kathleen Turner in the supporting category and also Kelly McGillis for "The Accused".

    Great win, although "Two Hearts" would've also been a worthy winner.
    However, where in the world is "If We Hold On Together" from THE LAND BEFORE TIME or any of the songs from OLIVER & COMPANY? Those are snubs that everyone overlooks, and the Oscars could've easily had 5 nominees that year.

    • @futuremovieactor
      @futuremovieactor 7 ปีที่แล้ว

      They may have not had that many eligible songs that year, so that may be why. I agree on almost all accounts except it should've been Two Hearts instead of Let the River Run.

      futuremovieactor even knowing i was a baby at this time but the 61st academy awards in 1989 honoring the films made in 1988 should be ashamed at themselves for not having these 8 songs in the best original song category 'love is my decision' from 'arthur 2: on the rocks 'nobody's fool' from 'caddyshack II' surrender to me' from tequila sunrise 'why should i worry?' from oliver & company 'coming to america' from 'coming to america' 'colors' from 'colors' 'da butt' from school daze' kokomo' from 'cocktail 'hole in my heart' from 'vibes' these 8 songs would have been in competition with 'let the river run' from 'working girl' which won that year i dont know about 'put a little love in my heart' from 'scrooged' because it was a song written in 1969

    This was from the dreadful Oscars show when Snow White danced with Rob Lowe to 'Proud Mary'. They only had 3 nominees that year for Best Original Song for some reason. None of these songs were performed on the show and they didn't even play a clip of the songs while announcing the nominees.

      UGH! l love them all, you know? But three others like "Arthur 2," "Caddyshack 2" and "Vibes" - that didn't help my themes and interests anymore. I'm sorry but that's
      how l feel. Now I have my own life/ego about dozens of wonderful songs with colors, textures and images were kept everything together. That really moves with me all the way. It was a real sudden change of heart to do lots of singing in schools, classes and churches with such wonderful style and substance.

    Her song is superb, but she and her acceptance speech were pretty anticlimactic (was she drunk ?). Plus, she didn't even thank Mike Nichols. I mean, without the first shot of Working Girls, without that grandiose panorama of Manhattan, Let The River Run, no matter how brilliant it is, wouldn't have had the same impact.
