Thanks Dirk. It’s a labor of love. The wood is beetle kill pine. In North America we have the pine beetle which go in these giant pine trees and kill the tree, but they leave behind a beautiful pattern and coloring in the grain of the wood.. my customer I built these for cut these trees down on his property, he milled the boards, dried the lumber and brought it to me. It was an honor building these for him, glad you enjoyed the video 😁
There might be a tour on the shumaker guitar works channel but I’ll try to do an updated one. I’m gonna try my hand at laser etching some guitar stuff soon

I can’t carpenter worth a damn but I can cut and carve a guitar. I’m really rusty but I still love to play. These took me way too long. Almost 3 years to complete. I pointed out all the flaws to the owner and he was like, no they’re perfect, because they’re hand made. Really made my year honestly. These have been a love hate labor of love lol..

Thanks my friend. Yes these are beetle kill pine bodies. The beetles kill the trees but their secretions leave the crazy grain colors in the wood. And then there’s Birdseye maple, flamed maple, figured maple, and mahogany also.
