I just replaced my 2014 WRX (last of the hatchbacks) with the 2023 Limited WRX. I am very happy with it. The only thing I miss is the hatchback. I think the engine is way better. Not much more powerful, of course, but much better power delivery. And the suspension is much more compliant. The 2014 was very jarring when I hit a pothole. The rear seats are actually usable by an adult. I looked at a bunch of other cars but, as the title of this clip says, almost nothing is available with a stick shift. And, since I also like AWD, your are down to the Golf R and the Corolla GR. And the Golf R is unacceptable with the messed up capacitive switches... The Corolla GR is unavailable even for a test drive and the Toyota dealers are demanding > $10k above MSRP. So, I am happy with my 2023 WRX.
I don't blame you for picking the limited wrx over the Golf R and GR Corrola. Golf R is a trash manual experience and the GR Corrola is not worth 50k. Enjoy your car. I'll be getting the same soon.
I have had a 2022 base WRX since November. The car is very planted and can fly around turns and accelerate very quickly. Traction is beyond belief and I wish they would not salt our roads so I could have fun in the snow. I have never had a Subaru but I bought one after learning about their excellent outside visibility, ergonomics, safety, and resale value. Nice to see out of my car and enjoy the ride that can handle most all roads to very rough that would tear up most other sports cars.
Just picked up my 23 limited in silver today, upgrading from my 02 bugeye wagon, also silver ;-) This thing is quite refined but still is a drivers car.
I have a 2022 Premium, aside from the gaudy black plastic cladding (which I've more or less corrected with aftermarket additions), it is a sharp looking, fun, and pretty quick ride. I love it, I think more people will come around to it the more they see enthusiasts making their own "STi" with them.
I just bought the base model 2023 WRX and mine is also a standard. I absolutely love it. It's so fun to drive. And I love that there's no rev hang in it (I came from a 2020 Honda Civic Si Coupe which had tons of rev hang and I hated driving the car because of it). Such a nice and fun car.
I'm late to the party, but I just bought my 2023 WRX Limited in Solar Orange. I'm coming from a zero optioned 2013 Jeep Wrangler and all the tech and gadgets are a little overwhelming, BUT I'm loving it so far!
The car is awesome. I wouldn't want my car louder than this. I'm really considering this car. The only thing holding me back is the gas mileage and the need for premium which adds up over time. I hate paying a higher price for gas over 99% of drivers on the road.
That is why I did not buy. The outback can run with regular gas. In Canada, premium gas is 30 cents more per liter. That is 30 x 60 . 18 dollars. More Everytime you fill up. Wish they can alter for regular gas

I was on the fence to get the Premium over the Limited, but after seeing it in person and test-driving I had to go for the Limited. To me, it makes a big difference and is totally worth the extra cash. I think it makes a big difference in the creaks and rattles of the cabin as well.
You can get a sunroof and Harmon Kardon in a package on the premium for a bit over $1800. After 45 days of ownership, the last time I got this many thumbs up and nods on a car, was when I had the first Porsche Macan S in my area back in '15.
The lights are DRL, they are always on as long as the parking brake is off. When the DRL are on and the fog light switch is on, the fog lights will be illuminated.
I was considering putting the 4k price different towards aesthetic Mods. But I’m in luck, after about 800miles on the car the dealership call saying they put the wrong bank to finance the car so that basically voids out the contract I signed. I was able to upgrade to the limited.

@@703Speed , GM and other manufacturers have already announced they are discontinuing the R&D on ICE. And I believe that by 2030 all new vehicles have to be Hybrid or EV and all EV by 2035. Correct me if I'm wrong, but it doesn't look good.
Not every buyer wants a Rally inspired overload of plastic cladding. There's functionality behind it but it makes the car look so cheap. Subaru should have street styled this, as that is what most people will be using it on. And then offer a 'Rally Inspired' package for those looking to take it off road.
But thats not what the car is designed for. Thats like saying a pickup truck is great except you wish it didn't have that annoying truck bed. Buy a Honda instead if you want a street car.
I do like the look of the new 2023 WRX, i Do Not like the black plastic wheel arch, and the large rear bumper there is to much black plastic. I have owned 4 new Subaru WRX, at present i drive a 2020 WRX, its all this plastic i don't like, may be i'll change my mind in time ? 🤔 Thank you for your nice review 👍

I've been considering getting a WRX, but have never driven a manual before. I'm sure it isn't the most difficult thing in the world but I'm curious whether you think this car would be alright to learn in?
This would be a good car to learn on, but, a V8 is always easiest to learn on (in my experience) because of all the low end torque. With that said, this is still easy to learn on and would be a lot of fun for a first time manual driver

@mcsuperheroes1777 I have owned a few MT vehicles ( Corolla, Elantra, Evo 9) and my 22 wrx is by far the easiest of them to drive. It will be intimating for the first week or so but you will get the hang of it. You won't regret it.
@mcsuperheroes1777 no bro, don't listen to people who say a manuel is annoying.. once u learn it becomes muscle memory. People who say it sucks in traffic are just lazy imo. Plus these newer manuels have hill hold which will keep u from rolling backwards in hulls, its so nice!! I've had people tell me that it's cheating but that's bs cause today people will pull up inches behind u on a hill, a feature like this is mandatory in my opinion. Plus ur clutch will last wayyy longer cause ur not slowly burning ur clutch as ur staring on a backwards roll. Dude u won't regret it!! I've been driving manuels for over 12 years and I won't buy an auto. I just got the 23 wrx and I'm absolutely in love with it. I drove 2 honda sticks before this. The Is symmetrical AWD is absolutely amazing!! This is my first ever AWD and it makes such a difference, plus Subaru makes the best AWD and allot of people I think would agree. I got the premium which I highly recommend. At first I was thinking base but if u don't wanna spend thr extra money on the limited I highly recommend considering the premium, I think it's super worth the extra money over the base. But if u got the money for the limited do it! Sorry for the novel lol, I just absolutely love my new car!! Good luck brother!

Would you miss the camaro if you got rid of it and had this for a daily? I have a 2010 mustang gt for summer and a suv for winter... im considering getting rid of both and getting one of these. Im scared i will miss the " sport car" in the summer.
Honestly yes I would. The Camaro is a great sports car but it’s also comfortable enough to daily drive. Plus it’s got that V8 sound. That’s just me tho

Luckily the WRX is sporty enough to transcend being dubbed an "economy car", and despite a little less horsepower, its faster than the outgoing WRX STi models, which was Subaru's flagship performance model for the last 2+ decades
The excess silicone drops in the old pan. This causes oil starvation and the engine dies.. I was about to buy . However, on TH-cam and car complain website there are mentions about this. Subaru has acknowledged but there is not recalls

I have a premium 6 spd and average 25+ ive seen 28 , im only 1k miles in driving the car .

It’s our 5th Subaru and 1st at Stohlman won’t be our last. Upgrading the wife’s outback next year and a cross trek for the daughter.

Hesitant on the car cause of the gearing. Seems like the motor will always be working hard even in 6th gear on the highway.
5th and 6th gear are both overdrive, that makes a huge difference.
first gear is short. not s2000 short tho.
