Tommy, I don't have words to describe how much I profoundly esteem you. I could listen to him playing for days and never get bored. Isn't him the best, most technical guitarist these days? Having the best teachers one guitar lover could have has paid off. I'll never forget the day he's come to my city in concert, he was with Mike Dawes, I loved every single moment of that evening, he is capable of making people who never listened to good music dance.
It's just incredible... i'm speechless... just completely took my breath away... i feel this music in every cell of my blood... Respect & Lots of love from Hungary
wow ! this is some next level stuff .. a whole new realm of sonic intoxication...so elegant, articulate and tasteful... the playing is extraordinary....the style is uniquely packed with so many various colors and flavors rendering it virtually genera-less...the composition is timelessly relevant ..the melody is just begging to be sung aloud....the bar has been raised.....simply as sweet as it gets.....the next gen really has something 2 run with now.......way beyond superb .....thE cat's meow of solo acoustic instrumentals .....do spread the word about Tommy Emmanuel the living legend.
if you like Tommy...you should also check out a fellow Australian..a young gun called Joe Robinson who grew up watching Tommy. Joe's last 2 albums are in the pop-rock genre but his first album was fingerpicking virtuosity at 16. if Joe every moves back into pure fingerpicking, in my opinion, he is Tommy's heir. Big words I know, but Joe is extraordinary and also a song writer. Go youtube him and let me know what you think.
What a great talent and man. If you have never seen him perform live you are only receiving half the magic of the greatest guitarist/entertainer who ever lived. I have seen him 8 times now, plus a workshop, and he inspires me to keep working on my music. More importantly take a young person to see him and perhaps they will aspire to be the next TE.
Tommy, you do know that you are my favorite guitarist right? Raw talent in excess, but it is the creativity, innovation, and joy that exists in your music that makes you stand out.

And I remain just as enamoured to this day. I even remember the knock, knock jokes told that night - THAT is how much that first performance is stuck in my head.

I've been listening to this song for over a decade and only now do I realise just what a masterpiece this is. I'm blown away. Every year I rediscover or find a new appreciation of one of Tommy's classics.
Not only is this incredibly skilful playing but it also leaves you feeling uplifted. It reminds me of the playing of Earl Klugh. He, too, communicates an infectious joy. A great gift. Wonderful!

Such a perfect song. At one time I could also play this on guitar like you. Used to be able to get T.E. tablature for free, before they took that down and started charging for it. T.E. songs hurt my hands. Adrian Legg songs rarely do, and they're a bit easier usually.
I just love Mr. Emmanuel's playing, it's just so clean, and clear, and soothing. I just picked up tickets to see Tommy in 2014 in Victoria, BC, and I hope he plays this song as it's my favourite of his. I'm also trying to learn this song, which is a whole other beast than hearing it already perfected.

Beautiful - I’ve seen many covers but nobody quite does it like Tommy, and believe me I’ve tried - I think besides the execution of that beautiful chord progression which includes that exquisite equally beautiful melody very few people have the strength and dexterity in their fingers and hands (possibly arms as well) to execute it sufficiently well to do it justice - another reason Tommy is so outstanding as a guitarist, and I didn’t even touch on his musical sense and song writing ability
I wonder if tommy realises now and then how many people are watching his videos just admiring him... God i would love to be able to sit with him now and then just talking about music and guitar.
