Honestly, I don't see much difference between Blender and other 3D software, aside from the fact that Blender is free. The same tasks can be accomplished in Maya or 3ds Max; while Blender does offer some interesting features and benefits from a highly active open-source community producing a vast array of addons, the core principles of 3D modeling and animation remain consistent across all major 3D applications. The big, and most important, distinction lies in which software is most commonly used in production. In that regard, Maya leads the way, followed by Houdini (for FX and procedural workflows), that's it.
@pxlmentor Since this channel focuses more on architecture, I believe 3DsMax is a better fit. Compara to 3dsmax and blender, I think blender more fun than 3dsMax. I know that both powerful :)
Amazing video. The texturing is so awesome. Imperfections and the damage! Thanks for the video. It's sped up but not upto a point where we can't see the keystrokes.❤
Maaan, you are crazy...This job is amazing, you cant do that to me, i ve never seen so much detail in one tiny place in the games that i ve played. How long did you do this? Year? My hat is down sir...
any chance you'd create a course or Tutorials? This is some Great Work, I have no doubt that I'm not the Only one Interested in learning how to make this
I have some ideas for a longer version of this video. I don't have time to make a tutorial or course yet. I will probably post a version that is not sped up or cut.
@@AdamArchh Can't wait man, if that's yhe case then could point me on where to go? Any course or tutorials you could recommend me? I'm quite new in the 3d space so i want to know what's the structure of learning environment arts
The weathering and the lighting are impressive. 😊 Is there a reason he started with creating a window instead of blocking out the building cubes? Is that a cat sleeping? 😊 Edit: There are several cats sleeping.
Thank you very much! I made the windows and planks for another project. But I put them at the beginning so people can get an idea when I use them in this project.
Amazing work!!!! Do you mind if i ask how do you find the high res images to use as textures? I'm a beginner at blender and i'm struggling to find this kind of stuff. Do you use google or other search engine? I dont know what keywords to use
The secret is quite simple. Just type in a few simple words and try to find the images that are closest to what you want to find. Then Google these images over and over again. Google will give you the best results. Repeating it a few times will give you better results.
Blender user here, I do see a lot of these camera projection mapping technique/workflow being used by blender guys, but for Max guys or any other, much less used or utilized by the later mentioned artists, my strange question is; Is blender excel at this or just a technique that are not so popular among other software users??
Looks amazing! I just noticed some minor issues with signs. th-cam.com/video/w_UBSQL9w6o/w-d-xo.html there are OPEN and PREPARING side by side which is bit odd and some writings were mirrored. I know for many it looks Japanese or Chinese and doesn't matter, but when final result is that great otherwise I really wish words are used correctly. Again, final result looks simply great!
Thank you very much. You are right about the correct use of words. I don't really know what they mean exactly. But when they don't ring a bell, I try to make them visually complementary in the scene. I will take your suggestion into consideration when I need to look for relevant images again :)
Nice modeling but a lots of detail mistakes 14:19 Two signs "Open" and "Preparing" show up at the same time. 16:19 Sign "Open" hangs up reversed. 17:26 It represents Chinese traditional Mid-Autumn festvial, hanging in a Sushi shop XD Accroding to personal experience, in Japan and China you won't see merchants densely hang signs with different elements. So the signs element is kinda overkilled In this street environment tutorial.
I'm thrilled to see someone switch to Blender! The biggest difference compared to other software is that Blender is simply more fun to use.

@@pxlmentor I disagree, the way of texturing using the blender is completely different from other tools

They are all random images from Google.
