Great to see you touching up the paint in the holes. Try to put some Teflon sealant on the sensor thread, as it with stop it leaking, and make it easier to remove in the future.
My 62 Mini despite Mk2 rear lights and Grille, looks old. Needs a makeover lol! It's got a 1275 engine. I also have a 998 Mk2, 12G295 head, AEA630 cam, 1 1/2" SU, Hi -Lows/Spax converted to dry suspension. Also a 1969 Rile Elf MK3, unfortunately, an automatic.
Small tip about removing and old sensor (works with spark plugs too!) : Don't apply a constant high pressure on it but hit the wrench with your palm to simulate the action of an impact wrench.
Love what your doing with the restoration. (It's looking very sharp.) Don't mind the weather too much, if you think it's hot where you are, here in Palm Springs California we're getting a balmy 122 for a high or about 50 degrees Celsius. (Bring your sunscreen)
I too converted my innocenti to mk1 style lights, they just look so much nicer, can I make one request though, on your videos the music level is constant but you voice level is sometimes a bit quiet. Other than that, great job it's looking really special.
Andrew Gregory thanks dude! For some reason my iPhone doesn't like to record my voice very loud but appreciate the feedback! Any feedback is good cause that way I can produce better videos for my viewers! Cheers bud! 👌🏻✌🏻️
I've only recently started following this build , nice touch those lights. Will you be going with the mk1 look on the front too ? Moustache grille top etc ?
Matthew Vizcaino I'm not sure there is mate, all wheel arches fitted on minis from standard required holes drilling, what's the reason you don't want to drill them?
Total Car Reviews well I have a 61 morris cooper and the thing is I would these feel bad how after all this time the body was solid and it takes me to drill holes into it. But I do think your right bit I these what'd to ask. Also my cooper is the same color as yours red with a black top =P
Matthew Vizcaino no worries dude! What you have to remember is all a mini can ever cost you is money... if you fit the arches and decide to don't like them, all it will take is a weld, sand, prep and spray, that's how i justify throwing so much cash into a car haha
Hi pal. Car looking great. Quick questions if you don’t mind? What width wheels have you got? And what et? Do you use spacers? Are the arches group 6? Thanks
ste mottram hello mate! The wheels are 12x6 not sure of then”ET” but they will be coming off and being replaced with 13x7 I currently have no spacers on the car and the arches are indeed group six bud 👌🏻
Cheers pal. Thought the wheels were 10” to be honest. That’s what I’m looking to do. Did you have to cut the arches at all so they didn’t rub? Thanks for the advice.
my buddy from Japan who is a professional Mini Cooper race driver. He ships his mk1 over to the island of Mann to race and has a shop where he restores them (Grace Garage). He redid my mini in the same colors he runs in (smoke gray, English white top) any how he told me that even though the mini is a British/ European car the only metric nuts and bolts used on them was in the a.c. units when installed.
James Kottinger haha! The Isle of Man is a nice place! The TT is amazing I've been myself! No way the only metric bolts are on the screen units haha! Safe to say they were only on the 1995 models and onwards 😂
Hey first of all its a rly mint mini you have :). About the temp sensor watchout for the colour if it matches your gauges as there are different sensor for different temp gauge models... Took me alot of trial and error to find one which suited my gauges otherwise it will not show the right temp :) nonetheless great job keep up the great work. Cheers from malta ;)
what is your overall plans for the mini besides wanting to be a mk1? show, so called boy racer? with all the asking for help sounds like you need some work manuals.
bought yesterday from minisport lockheed brake master cylinder (the long ones) and from minispares the 12 to 10 conversion so i can put the 10"" GB on. Your mini is getting pretty awesome mate!!!Check the KAD in my videos
I didn't say anything about screen units....Air Conditioning. my mini is 89 Rover, I've removed the A.C. unit which is the only metric bolts and that was my car the rest of it is u.s. standard. Next you're going to tell me that the regional minis are a 100% German free.....if you're still running Lucas electrical then you got German parts.
Great to see you touching up the paint in the holes.

Gavin Ivers thanks gavin! And I will do 👌🏻
Nice job with the rear lights, about 1969 I put MK2 lights on my 1962 Mk1. If I restore the car, I will use the Mk1 conversion.
Radfordperson hahah! It's mad how people wanted it to look newer years ago where as now they want it to look older 😂

Great video as usual! The Mk1 lights look really good, I may go that way myself with my build

If I may ask do you know anyway to put on those fender flares without dripping the holes into the body?

Be nice if u put 2 fuel caps like the old Cooper s , one being just for show and blanked off.
That’s a good idea!
