  • Hey guy's how you all doing, my name is Troy, I'm bald and I collect watches.
    So if you're new here to the channel you have stumbled across the first episode of "My wife chose this", a series of reviews of watches that my wife has chosen. As a watch collector I know what it is that i want, I know what it is that I buy, but this series will show the perspective of a non watch collector, what makes them choose a particular watch??
    This episode was made possible by Watchshop.com they reached out to me to see if I would be interested in a reviewing one of their many watches, I was happy to oblige of course, who doesn't want to get hands on with more watches.
    So ladies and gents if you don't know your automatic from your quartz, or your Seiko from your Sekonda thats ok, because this series is for you!
    If you're interested in picking up this watch you can head over here;
    www.watchshop.com/watches/sei...
    I hope you've enjoyed the video and please feel free to comment, like and subscribe to my channel, thank you.
    Also I have to credit;
    calibercorner.com/seiko-calib...
    For the detailed guide of solar charge times.
    That's all from me, please remember I'm an enthusiast and not an expert, see you all in the next video.

    Kudos to your wife for a great choice👍
    There's a lot to like about this one I've become a bit of a fan of some rose gold myself & this one looks great & with a great set of dimensions too.

    Great review, good information on the Caliber and the price is excellent! It gives off a much more expensive vibe. Adding Sapphire is a real plus!

      Totally agree sapphire is a very sensible choice and it looks like it should cost more thank you for watching.

    Fantastic start to a new series mate, not keen on rose gold myself but I could see myself wearing a steel case one. Congratulations on the collaboration too.

    Great review. This is a very nice looking watch, if I hadn't just bought the Citizen AW1590-55E Eco-drive (at a discounted price of £114) I would have had a serious look at this one. I'm not a fan of the rose gold look but on this occasion the dial is so nice I would have made an exception.

      Just googled that, beautiful vintage vibe, Citizen do seem to be the leader in this tech for sure. Thank you for watching

    These outclass the Bambino with the water resistance alone.

      Good shout. But I would still prefer a Bambino. More variety in that line up, thank you for watching.

    Classy watch, your wife must be a classy lady, congrats! I like all kinds of watches, but if I'm really honest, I'm more of a quartz guy, any quartz, so solar is just icing on the cake. I'd easily buy this watch for myself. Looking forward to the series.
    As to horror stories, a few decades ago now my wife went to Europe, and I thought it'd be a good opportunity to buy something not readily available here back then for a decent price. So I gave her the spe cs and she did her best. I wanted a pepsi bezel, preferably a chrono. I also said I wanted a bit larger as that was the style back then. So she comes back and gives me the watch. Smiling. I smile back and grimace a bit internally. It was huge, to me larger would be 42ish. It had a pepsi style bezel, but fixed and the internal sub dials were for day, date and 24 indicator. And it was a Tommy, ugh. My fault, should have explained that bezels should rotate and what sub dials on a chrono actually were for. And that Tommy is not a brand I'd go for. She did her best, God bless her heart :).

      The Hilfiger is kryptonite to all people of taste and sensibility. On a watch it's basically a stake through the heart.

    • @thebaldwatchcollector
      @thebaldwatchcollector  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      A Tommy, bless her she tried and I think that is what sucks most people into thinking they are buying something great, just because of the brand name. Thanks for the story Marcelo, keep an eye out for future videos in this series, see if my wife can keep up with the good picks.
