    I did all of this without takin out ball joints and everything. Took the tire off and disconnected the suspension. Then used a jack to compress the suspension and slept the block into place. Took about an hr without all the extra the have you do

      Good because looking at this video was kinda painful when I was thinking all you would need to do is jack up/compresse the shock and the spacer would fit one shot 😅

    You make popping that ball joint out so easy. Mine took a ball joint fork and a lot of friggin beating. 2 hour job turned into about 6

    I’ve owned 4 trucks in about two years. Each one I had installed a leveling kit and every time I watched this video just to make sure I was doing it right. I’m pretty sure I’m getting the hang of it. Thank you so much for an easy to follow install.

    Loved the video and the leveling kit. It doesn't fully level it out but God it does look so much better. Only thing is that it doesn't take 2 taps for that upper ball joint to come out lol. But it is a very simple install. Torque specs would have been nice for the video

    I have this EXACT leveling kit on my 2017 Silverado. It's just enough to take the ugly factory rake out of play. My only comment is that this "leveling kit" doesn't actually level your truck and it still has about a 1" rake to it. Great value for the money though and a no-brainer to improve the look of your truck.

      Or put some weight in the bed. Kinda counterproductive if you're wanting to sit higher than stock but it'll take that 1" rake out of the equation

  • @gregmurphy4231
    @gregmurphy4231 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    I didn't do most of that. I loosened the sway bar link all the way, but left it connected. Then I took the top three nuts off with a ratchet and extensions from the top. Then I took the two bolts out of the bottom and it came right out.

  • @AimingWanderously
    @AimingWanderously 3 หลายเดือนก่อน

    Worthy of note: 5:33 the stock strut bolts are 15mm, not 17, at least on my 1500, but the new ones are 17 mm. Also 7:25 my upper control arm was the opposite of what's shown here, you needed to pry up in this video but I had to pry DOWN a good ways, tough mechanics of prying it down and lifting the floppy control arm assembly upward! Jack stands are DEFINITELY your friend to hold the control arm when disconnecting the ball joint and tie rod!

  • @hvlineman5227
    @hvlineman5227 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    12/22- My leveling kit for the 2018 (1500) came with strut preload spacers along with the lower strut extensions that you installed in this video. Looks like I’ll need to borrow someone’s strut compressor!

    please take note of the "get an alignment"
    comment at the very end. doing this will cause your front to tow in. not a big deal but if you don't get it realigned pretty soon after you can ruin a good set of tires!

    • @AimingWanderously
      @AimingWanderously 3 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Use a tape measure to measure the middle of your front & rear wheel well edges to the ground. On mine, factory, the rear is about 3.25" higher than the front. This will tell you what you need to be completely level. Keep in mind your truck will squat if you put any weight in the rear if it's level.
