Side note: the “c” is silent in scimitar. On the plus side, at least you’re not saying mouses or mices like some reviewers.

Haha yeah I know I just think it sounds funnier with the c in there. I used to say scimitar with a c when I would play RuneScape as a kid and just kept it going

I kind of love the 3rd click on the G600 for MMOs, and it's easy to deactivate if you really can't stand it. I like the functionality of doubling up on keys when holding it down; but that fucks with muscle memory so hard.
I find it difficult to upgrade from the G600 because of losing that click, I was kind of interested in the Scimitar but it not having Wheel tilt is kind of a deal breaker... making Naga my only real upgrade option.
I'm surprised you had issues with the software. I've never had issues with Logitech's software even when I was using a old g700 and a crappy keyboard.

Been using a G600 since 2012 however it has now started to have some issues which I thought were either the usb port or software, turned out to be neither so I can only conclude it's the mouse. Personally after going to Micro Center and testing several MMO mice I went with the Scimitar and thus far it has performed amazingly!

Tell me more now that some months have passed. I had one from the 2016 inventory (not that mine was made specifically that year, just narrowing it down) and it was great, until it started to double click on the left click. The scroll wheel was next with a very bad response when scrolling up or down. The middle click followed soon after with it not registering on some clicks, sometimes it did a double one. And lastly the right click, sometimes it double clicked, but honestly, it was rare for this to happen.
The side buttons never failed me, but still, the above happened after 9 - 12 months after purchasing, but only for the left click. The scroll wheel and right click happened around the first and 2nd year.

@@nathangraves if you're referring to the Scimitar I purchased it is working perfectly. I haven't had a single issue after 100s of hours playing Cyberpunk, CoD, Borderlands 3, Fallen Order, Diablo II, Diablo III, etc. So if I have to give it a grade I would say an 8 out of 10, I still like the weight of the G600 better.

@@nathangraves I have had the G600 for many years and the micro switch from the left button is the element that ends the fastest. As standard, there were micro switch with a durability of 5 million clicks or 20M clicks. Last time I soldered a micro-switch that withstands 50M clicks, which was enough for several years of strong use. The first symptom of the end of life of a micro-switch is just multiple clicks or the need to press the button hard.

seems like a solid enough review. as the logitech g600 prices have gone up (all of them have, but on amazon they seem to wanna sell the g600 for $160. despite Logitech selling it for 40.)
I ordered a naga to see how it feels. mostly because of the middle button that skewed it for me. However, we'll see if i stick with it or try to order another g600, purely on account of the mouse size. As the extra right mouse button on the g600 doesn't really get clicked accidently by me (used it for 5-6 years now. only replaced it once). my hand is large enough that it pretty much just ends up as a ring finger button. It's also one of the only mice that is large enough for my hand to not be uncomfortable. So we'll see if I like the naga enough.

Personal experience of the Razer Naga and Corsair Scimitar.
disclaimer: haven't used the Naga in a few years, there were issues which led me to give the Scimitar a try which may have been improved upon. I'm actually going back to the Naga to give it another shot as the Scimitar experience hasn't been stellar either.
    RAZER Naga
Can feel a bit small in the hand
Hardware issues: All the ones me or friends have owned have gotten wheel issues down the line. It also had issues with the cursor getting stuck, supposedly because of surface calibration or dirty sensors but the fix was never to recalibrate or clean the sensor but to slam the mouse on the desk, after searching online it seems the Naga has some other issues that slamming it on the desk solves, the classic whack always works be it TV or Naga but it probably comes at the cost of longevity.
Software: SYNAPSE has always been great but it used to constantly log you out and that would stop bindings from working leading to disasters in whatever you were doing. No idea why they felt like we need a logged in account to edit settings of our mice in the first place. This probably also happens if your internet goes down but I do not remember.
    CORSAIR Scimitar
Nice size, can slide the side buttons back and forth about 1cm. This mouse is very hard to clean both inside and outside.
Hardware Issues: My wheel click is broken, could just be a software related issue as I've had scroll wheel related software issues before.
Software: iCUE: No account to get logged out from unlike Synapse which is great but the software has been a big step down from Synapse. Software isn't intuitive and missing remapping of the scrolling. The software breaks and needs to be restarted constantly. The mouse has hardware profiles so you can load your profile onto the mouse itself and use it without the software but i've never had a good experience with this feature.

    • @Thiskidmage

The Logitech mice are generally much gentler and even though I made it seem like they’re kind of flimsy, I’m fairly certain it’s due to my fingers being bulky and me putting too much force into things. This might end up being a great option for you if you’re looking for something different.

Returned twice the Razer Naga after a couple of months, and also the third replacement failed after short time. I'm done with that overpriced pieces of garbage plastic made by Razer. I had 2 Razer mice, both of them died very quickly, one fell from a low height and the roller support broke off, 2 days after purchase. Never again, it's better to buy a cheap Chinese mouse. I have already tried other mice and I always come back to Logitech, but they are the most powerful, the only drawback of Logitech is the software, it can be problematic and annoying when trying to set it up, but once you succeed, everything works fine. If it weren't for the fact that, as a compulsive mmo player, I need many keys, I would choose Zowie, but for gaming definitely Logitech.

@@dimmiu I bought another new, G600, and for 3 years straight (and counting) it never let me down once. Unfortunately, the side buttons for MMO, at times, can miss a push, but I think it is due to software glitches. The hardware is solid, however.

both the scimitar and the g600 let you program the buttons and store them on mouse so you dont need the software. Also you can program the 3rd click button on g600 to function as that Naga button you keep on talking about. Or actually any of the dpi buttons could do that too if you set up your mouse that way, for all 3 of them.

I used a naga from 2012 to about 2016, and gave up on razer at the time over their china-made lasers getting stuck on X or Y axis randomly. Then I used a scimitar from 2016 to 2021, and scimitar pro from 2021 to current.
The 2012 naga failed with laser problems and needed to be beaten like a red-headed step-child to behave again.. so I went to scimitars.
The 2016 scimitar's scroll wheel plastic piece broke after 3 years, then the right click started double clicking a year later.
The 2021 scimitar pro started double clicking on both clicks 2 years later.
The entire time I used corsair though, the icue software made me want to put a buckshot straight through my motherboard compared to razer synapse of the past. icue 4 works a lot better than icue 3, but I'm so PTSD with this damned program that I'm ready to never buy corsair for outer peripheral again (corsair interior parts are still fine) now that others are building better keyboards than them.
I'm SO TIRED of going with omron 50 million click rated switches, NEVER EVER AGAIN. NEVER AGAIN. FUCK DOUBLE CLICKING.
Due to this, I've decided to try the optical click switches and go back to the naga with the naga X because of the physical utility it offers by just WORKING without having to have software run, and because it's currently $40.
I agree with almost everything you actually said out loud when making your cases, but the numbers you gave in the scoring completely contradicted what you were saying and made nooooooooooooo sense. example: you literally said naga has no real physical defects currently and the scimitar feels basically equal to it in build quality, but that the scimitar has a MASSIVE, MASSIVE DESIGN FLAW in the plastic scroll wheel piece that WILL BREAK OFF very fast... and then proceeded to give both mice the same score for hardware quality.. like ?????????
I just typed all this out next to my 2016 scimitar that has a fully broken scroll wheel on it and double click on right click.. because at least it isn't a double click on the left click like my newer scimitar. The naga x is all ready on its way.

      @Thiskidmage  10 หลายเดือนก่อน

Sounds like you use you really use your mice up haha :) have you tried anything outside of scimitars and nagas? Also, just wanted to clarify the part about the hardware scores - the scimitar was new to me at the time, but felt solid. The razer also just generally felt solid so I ended up giving them the scores that I did. I still actually haven’t had issues with my scimitar aside from the software stopping once, but it’s been quite a while so I’ll give it the benefit of the doubt. Might try a new mouse and make a new mmo mouse video soon - we’ll see
