let me tell you… Pai has changed A LOT.
6 years ago when i first visited, it was a quiet little town with beautiful rice field views - almost like old Bali but in the mountains.
now it became so popular - countless accommodations and restaurants were built, and the town was full of foreigners coming here to go wild. lol
people in town even started offering the tubing experience on the river like the one in Vang Vieng, Laos.
luckily, the accommodation we stayed was a short distance walk from the town center and it was quiet and peaceful. we loved our stay! 🥰
p.s. “Spicy Pai Backpackers” didn’t exist anymore. it seemed like the owner changed and now the same place is called “Cody Backpackers”.
☕️ delicious thai tea place we found in Pai:
    📍Cafe d'tist

the sky looks grey, how was the air quality? it can be very bad at certain times of the year.

i would say it wasn’t very good… to be honest i was expecting to see more of the mountain views but they were almost nonexistent 😅 my friend who’s living in bangkok was saying there’s pm2.5 in the air apparently.
