@Vandy 8130 you are out of your mind if you think that. Billy Donovan is one of the best coaches in the NBA, especially when it comes to up-and-coming teams.
@@abhijithashok2564 If iI remember correctly... After a loss to some team, Boylan made the squad do high school drills and extra practice. The next game, they played the historically sh*tty Kings and lost. At the end of the game, the Kings laughed at the Bulls and told them to go do your drills.

Yeah I have to agree a million percent he was a bad coach. Who.did not know what he was Doing, He got a job because he is friends with somebody for sure.
I’ll never forget when LaVine started a comeback end with like 2 minutes left, Boylen tried to bench him and he looks right at him and says, “I have 40 points!” Then stayed in and shot a 3 from the horn of the bulls logo. Didn’t boylen do some weird shirt by trying to take vacation with players that didn’t even like him so they have to spend a few days around him. Forcing himself to be their friend, then would treat them like they are teenagers. Boylen is the ***** donor father you met at 20 years old who thinks Bc he missed all that time that you’ll respect him while he treats you like you’re still a kid Bc he missed all that time. He came in halfway through a season and demanded respect from the start.
A Tim Floyd Jim Boylen comparison video would be cool. Both are in the basement as far as bulls coaches. Tim Floyd definitely had less talent to work with.
I wish you had not gone on and on about Boylen's attitude. That is not why he was a bad coach, IMO. As you said, Thibs was a jerk, too, but he knew the game. The problem was, IMO, that Boylen did NOT know the game. And he made bonehead moves --- like calling timeout when Arch was going to make a breakaway layup. He also showed heartlessness -- when he didn't call timeout when Valentine was writhing on the floor from injury. He also made stupid substitutions -- like taking guys out that were playing great. His attitude was bad, but that is not why he was a bad coach.
No, I agree. I probably focused a bit too much on his attitude and personality. I think we can all agree, what really made him a poor coach was just his overall decision making and competence as a coach.
He was hired as a coach for the Bulls because Paxson and the Reinsdorks had made the worst company culture in the NBA. it is a toxic place where nobody talented wants to coach of play there. Jerry Krause is where this toxicity started and nurtured by the Reinsdorks and it was continued with Paxson and Forman.
I think it may be time to eevisit this video, with so many criticising Donovan. I do NOT think Donobvan is the problem. Let me make that perfectly clear. Now, heres what Im saying. People are quick to say: "Look...I'm not saying he's as bad as Jim Boylen, but....". Yet, when you go back and listent to some of your OWN critiques of Boylen, a lot are saying these same things about Donovan. What I'm saying is that it might be that coaching is just coaching, and that it's a recalcitrant player who the real issue. Who led the rebellion against Boyken with open questioning of his decisions, and visible smirking? Who had to be spoken to about his role on the team in the locker room when the Bulls gave up 150 points to Minnesota? Hoiberg really didn't get a fair shake in my opinion. I think our current roster is a team Hoiberg would've done well with. Being a fairly new coach and having Alpha minded figures as Jimmy Butler, DWade, and Rondo as players would be tough to coach. None of them respected him, especially Wade n Jimmy. I think the young team we have now would've been what he needed to succeed.
@@bodhisattvaFM That's not true. He got them to the playoffs and had it not been for Rondo's injury we would've beat Boston in that series. I'm not saying he was an awesome or great coach, but compared to Boylen he was a far better coach.
@@jokerYG They were planning to tank when they hired Hoiberg. But then Jimmy started setting the league on fire and they had to see what was there so the tank got bumped back a couple seasons. That's why they got him. The biggest of many disagreements they had with Thibs was he refused to coach a losing roster.
@@bodhisattvaFMYes, those are facts too. I'm not necessarily arguing history. The question that was asked is "who's worse Boylen or Hoiberg?" I'm picking Hoiberg as the better of the two. Who would you choose as the better coach? Boylen or Hoiberg

He lied to players constantly about the most basic stuff even when he probably would've been better off just being honest. He chewed his gum like some kind of a$$hole. He let Gar recruit spies in the locker room. And Jim Boylen was inarguably worse.
How can you not say Billy is one of the best coaches in the league? This is pretty much the exact same team Boylen had and they’re way more competitive in just about every game. I had my doubts about his hire too but gotta give my man Billy his respect for sure

Hoiberg was worse cuz he took the bulls from a title contender to a lottery team boylan inherited a fucked up team but also was terrible with development
The key is 65 or more from zach and two more players and defense,if you look at the losses no 3 players combined for 65 or more,I didnt like the way Boylan and the organization did Parker.
Any team that is relying on 65 points from one player is compete garbage. And what did the Bulls do to Parker?? Pay him 20mil to do nothing? Parker should be praising the bulls for giving his busted ass a chance
I mean, yeah but the Bulls should have never offered him that contract in the first place. At least own it and hold onto him after realizing you screwed up in giving him a contract like that. He was on a team option for the 2nd year, all they had to do was not renew it rather than trade him right away and embarrass him like that in front of his hometown

Like I said, certain owners are more involved in the decision making process of what players and coaches they bring in. MJ is one of those owners, that's a known fact. Mark Cuban is another one of those owners.
