What if you used an 250 or 500K?

Generally a higher value potentiometer will make the tone brighter by letting more of the high frequencies through. You should experiment with different values and pick the one that sounds the best to your ears using your equipment. When I made this video I didn’t know as much as I do now, and if I did it again I would probably use a 250k pot.

it only works on the fx loop?

No, you can put it wherever you want. I just wanted one in the fx loop so that it would be between the preamp and power amp stages.

@@aaronyarmelmusic6645 So could it go from the guitar to that"pedal" and then to the amp? without taking out overdrive? and thx for the quick response

@@hugofioliveiraYou’re welcome! And yes it can. That pedal is basically the same thing as the volume knob on a guitar or mandolin.

@@aaronyarmelmusic6645 thx.! I have another question... Can that handle 65W? While putting that pedal on the fx loop? Or no worries on that circuit?

@@hugofioliveira I’m not sure what would happen if you ran 65 watts into the potentiometer I used on that build, but that shouldn’t be a problem for this application. The preamp section on a guitar amp doesn't amplify the signal anywhere near as much as the power amp does (I wouldn't recommend sticking this between the power amp and the speaker).
