Finally I heard somebody else say it. I swear Hunters are far more aggressive since the order to turn of the gas. It feels like they jump much earlier and with practically no cooldown.

6:10 I remember when stun grenades were first released. All my friends thought they were going to be terrible, but I thought it was cool because I'm the group's support player. None of my friends take stuns over impacts, but they definitely appreciate that I take my stuns.
My friend says when they get swamped they spam grenades around themselves going out with a bang. But with stuns I've forced my way out of situations that definitely should have killed me

The thing that made Stuns awesome was the next warbond releasing, since it had the Eruptor and Grenade pistol. Because when you can have "explosive utility" (removing obstacles, hitting protected enemies, closing fabs/bug holes) in your primary/secondary slot, having non-explosive grenades isn't as bad.
It's also why I think we should have at least one heavy armor penetrating primary somewhere (and/or that the Thermite needs a huge buff), because it would indirectly fix a lot of what's wrong with the Support Weapon and Stratagem balance right now (That is to say, because it's the only "slot" that can deal with heavy armor, the pick rate will inevitably be skewed towards the choices that do that job best).
With the release of the grenade pistol, I bring stuns on every mission now. They're sooo good man, makes chargers a non-issue and I regularly save teammates about to get trampled
yep, i run grenade pistol with impacts, but when someone stuns that charger/devstator-squad/hulk-mid-barrage I SEE YOU.

When using napalm, rotate 90 degrees before throwing it so that it gets dropped sideways and enemies have to run lengthwise through it (I hope that explanation makes sense)
Is it based off the direction when thrown? Or is it the direction before it land?

I'd say more often than not you'd rather have it spread out horizontal infront of you so it covers a wider area that they can't walk around. You'd only want it in a line between you and them if there's a choke point where they have to walk through all of it.
since its a hunter planet, id say putting it perpendicular is better. hunters try and flank, so covering a wider area will get more bugs

It’s the crazy tongue attack the hunters have, same as the stalkers very long range if they miss with the melee attack.
Try the "buffed" Eruptor, you'll like it, I promise XD.

First video I have seen on this. I run no support weapon often for fun. The best part is when you find a support weapon on the points of interest. You're happy to see anything, even that double barrel shotgun is fun. It honestly adds a lot to the game if you are burning out on your options or helldive is becoming easy.
i can say MANY things about the 500KG but "inconsistent" is the furthest from my mind.
it's probably THE most consistent eagle call-in because it's a round AoE (small but stronk), the eagle flies in from behind you forward over the horizon (ALWAYS lands where you aim, unless you do a dumb) and it can be used at your own feet while still giving you enough time to get away (unless tackled)
It's inconsistent exactly because of the small radius. It means you have to be pretty precise. Tie that with the long delay before explosion and it's pretty hard to judge where to throw it, especially since Titans and Chargers are somewhat unpredictable.
500kg is the least precise eagle strike in the entire game and often times gets less kills than the Strafing Run. Half the time Airstrike is better for anti-armor.
6:13 the pouncer flying is so funny
Orbital gatling is better than Orbital Airburst IMO cooldown is 62 secs, and lasts about as long as 2 shots from the airburst (which the third shot rarely gets any kills anyways), it can kill bug holes (sometimes it does require a direct hit so its more of a bonus). Spam that thing
I think its way inconsistent in hitting targets, even when bunched up, in comparison to airbust. Correct me if im wrong there, but i think gas strike would be more consistent

Man, I'm just waiting for the 40% faster cooldown booster from HD1 to make it's way into 2 in some form
IMO solo-play should be allowed to use a 5th stratagem instead of a booster.
This actually inspired me to the revelation that there are in fact support weapons scattered around the map in containers and stuff so it could be a fun playstyle to do "random" support weapon from points of interest and just rock 4 powerhouse stratagems, ill def try it!
It certainly works. More often than not you’ll end up with an either a flamethrower, LMG, Stalwart, or AMR, so it’s not a bad choice if you don’t mind those weapons.
Occasionally you find a Railgun in the little ground bunkers, and of course there’s always that Break Action Shotgun that shows up…

No support/backpack, I call "Hobodiver" or "Moochdiver" and rely on ally/map support weapons. Best on teams of course.
i run without a backpack most of the time, gun only if i can rely on a team-mate, the ground drops are too unreliable and the game now LOVES to swarm you with medium/heavies from the 15-seconds mark right up to the 45 minute mark (depending on call-in-modifiers).
DAKKA on a timer can only do so much versus carrying a reliable source of damage with an ammo pool (and we all know that's not going to be the primaries).

as far as i can determine there are 4 types of maps and yes, one of them is a wilbert map...unfortunately it comes with nursing spewers...
-nursing spewers + wilberts
-bile spewers + bile wilberts
-yellow jumpers + hunters
- more heavies than usual (not sure on this one)

on group play with friends sometimes 1 person carries the backpack strat for 2 people and 1 person carries a supports weapon for 2 people, you basically have to wait 7 minutes but it's kinda worth if you coordinate appropiatedly.

shield generator works wonders against hunters / spewers but it sucks you have to sacrifice your backpack for that

I forget that there are almost always support weapons scattered across the map, so if I wanted I could take a gamble with whatever I can find so i can take more of other weapons (or just take a teammate's when it's off cooldown so they'll spare one). Kind of an underrated tactic since everyone takes supports for themselves
The thing Dough is doing with the Bile Titans from 27:30 onwards, you know what this makes me want? This makes me want a Bile Shrieker pet. Yes. Bile... Shrieker... pet...
I want a bug flying around me just spitting bile at any enemy, slowing them down. Then when it "recharges" it hangs on to my back and becomes like a semi-jetpack that lets me get over obstacles.
How would that make sense? It won't. But I want it anyway. (Although my brain is starting to work on how to make this shit work)
They definitely cranked up the bugs for this major order. I was playing on difficulty 7 with a four-man team and I end up getting 743 kills.. My most ever
Ever since meridia turned into a super colony, my friends and I have noticed that those giant worm skeleton things have been appearing around the different planets a lot recently
I have zero clue if it's related to meridia falling or if its just luck
I toyed with no support weapon with eruptor, but now that won't be as joyous lol.
Also, hunters make me alt f4 more often than I'd like to admit.
Bugs really became too annoying somehow. It all went from badass Starship Troopers roleplaying to constant stress and tourettes

Also about u looking for another side objective, there is always 5 of them on helldive, except for the raise flag mission for some reason its 4 there, maybe its bugged idk, but there is NEVER 6 of them so u could have just counted the completed ones on the map
You should talk about how the R-36 ERUPTOR got NERFed to heck. The removal of the shrapnel basically make it to a reskin of the grenade crossbow laaaaame. BTW i love your vids man keep it up Diver!!
weirdly the change makes teh CROSSBOW the direct-fire weapon (with a nerfed AoE Range) and the eruptor is now the long-range HE-grenade-launcher with terrible AoE damage-proliferation.
utterly ass-backwards.
The shrapnel is what made the eruptor interesting, the crossbow should be a de-facto personal grenade-launcher (the bolt itself should be made out of explosives with a tip just big enough to stabilise and penetrate more dangerous foes.
that said they have a 40 direct-damage to AoE swing on them now so the real choice is "double the rate of fire or the ability to kill holes/factories?" Both have been fundamentally standardised into sub-par grenade launchers (and the GL was ALREADY pretty sub-par).
On the topic of boosters. You think when they add vehicles, do you think they will come as a booster. Drops in with you once. Once it blows up that’s it. Instead of a stratagem

Hey this is a dumb idea but can you do a helldive run with traitor status? Like running out of bounds and letting the barrage do most of the work?
Arrowhead need to bring Humblebee from Helldivers 1 back. This drone could find enemies, objectives and sempels at the huge range on the map. I think this would eased up the scouting for P.O.I. and side objectives. It was always my must pick stratagem in HD1 mostly in solo.

You should /try/ using melee more, especially against hunters pouncing on you. Usually, if timed right, it can cancel their attack and stagger them for a little bit. Now... hear me out, some times it isnt a good idea though, like when several of them are swarming you at once. in that situation you may hit one, but the next three behind it will certainly kill you before you can react out of the melee animation lol. Still... in a pinch, its a decent way to defend yourself from getting combo-ed.
I had some fun no support pack runs. Especially after I find a random spawn.

Is it me or is the grenade pistol competing with a lot of support weapons in usefulness (both damage and utility)? Especially when paired with the supply backpack like this.
Just don't tell the devs since they are more likely to nerf the grenade pistol than to buff the underperforming support weapons.
For me, grenades and grenade pistol cover that "blind spot" between what the machine gun can take out and EAT power.
Remember kids, when there is no support weapons, bugs become support weapon

Hunters are programmed to attack more and attack faster the moment damage is taken. Its a rage inducing mechanic...

My goal is to one day helldive with No stretegems, using starter equipment and only use what I can find in the map.
a booster that gives more stratagems may be too strong.
but a primary weapon (flag of super earth) that reduces your strategem cooldown by ~50%! that's my idea!

Hunters are something else.. been doing solo lvl4 and i die so much i never died in this dificulty , and its mainly because of 20 or so hunters , from everywhere , it looked like lvl9 or 7 from before , jeezz , cant just farm some samples chill in lvl 4 anymore , need to get gud i guess , awsome videos btw love your content keep it up o7
All of which is undermining the game experience, making it less fun. It was supposed to be a cool starship troopers experience, not rage inducing anxiety.

I really hate playing with random that when the situations kinda heating up they left or when they go on their own way and i reinforce them near me they left (no one else near them also im not talking about disconnect issue).
I already tailor my stratagem n weapon to be more efficient with the randoms when they left i need to double my effort alone while collecting again the samples they left like dragon balls.
I freaking hate hunters and stalkers. What's really stupid is sometimes even if you have a high stagger weapon they recover so damn fast that they'll ragdoll you with their tongue attack that if another pops up you're pretty much screwed. give me 2 bile titans vs 2 stalkers any freaking day.

Hunters on solo seem to rarely miss, but hunters with other players are easier to dodge.
Even if you are away from your team, they are less accurate.
I run this build. Most the time you find a support weapon in the field.
i find field-finds too unreliable to lean on.
Nice when/if it does work out but i find i can live without pretty much anything, except a useful support weapon

Why would they change it so they perform tracking more often, and "slow" charge 80% of the time too, most of the time they don't even run into walls, they just...stop and turn around

Dude i love that just spawn 100s of fleas at a time with that fire shot gun i despise the little stalkers hunters i think and spewers and i wouldnt have an issue with the spewer if they didn't have aim bot built in i don't think they really need to change bugs that much just make the more fair for solo players its impossible now i dont want to play with randoms im sorry i just don’t and my group can only play 2 to 3 times a week

Don't sweat it. The difficulty does not actually matter that much anymore, since every difficulty inundates you with a constant stream of enemies, and the basic gameplay of constantly needing to run is the same.
And for that, a mid difficulty mission that's mostly hunters and spewers can be worse than a Helldive full of Commanders and Titans (Since you can kite those forever, as long as you have stamina).
Tesla tower should like.... Have 33% more hp again, or faster firerate.
I do not like the blue at the top of the cape. Maybe also leave it 3 lines not 4. All good either way.

So I saw in someone else vid (forget who) that you can actually parry bug attacks by melee attacking them right as they attack. Ever since I learned that it has made hunters so much less of a pain in my ass.
Stalkers are still terrifying tho.
…as for this game and balance it concerned, I generally find that “never nerf, especially if it’s only a pve game” is a silly take, bordering on boneheaded. And yet… this is one of the few games where I’d say the nerfing is getting a bit out of hand. The Dev team seems to be forgetting that they’ve been working on this for 7 YEARS…. and the most time any of their player base has had to play is a few months. And even tho, most of us do not have the skill of those of you who are doing it for a living. It almost seems like they’re balancing the game around the best of the best players, as opposed to the average player… and that kinda sucks.
Their bench mark should be the Sickle. Make every gun as good to use as that thing is currently, and we’re good. For instance, for most of the ARs, I think just giving them bigger mags would solve most of their issues at this point. Needing to reload after killing a just few enemies when there’s a horde in front of you just kinda sucks. 🤷♂️ the Adjudicator is the worst in the department. I get that they want us to have some trigger discipline, but god damn…
This is why I'm running MG or stalwart. You need that heavier and sustained firepower, plus the rover drone to clear out the mobs. Once that runs out, switch to primary breaker and move away. I can't imagine doing bugs any other way.

The amount of enemies on screen and the absolute balls you need to solo helldive is part of what makes this game soooo freaking fun
