@@mattv5281 I have no experience with this product, so I myself cannot recommend it, but many forums I've visited have had users suggest Orcon F, from Pro Clima. Looking at the product page, it seems to be a comparable product, but is not a straight rebrand the way Loctite and LePage are, so it's not exactly the same.

10 year hardware store manager in the 90’s, and a female. Heard & dealt out more 8” spike jokes than you could possibly imagine. My “get the new girl” moment was me & two other employees standing & talking by the front of the store when a women comes in, acting rather exasperated & waving a loaded caulking gun in hand, she says, “My caulk is hard & I can’t get it out!” I look to my fellows, they both snort, turn & walk away! I know I said “Uh, Uh, Uh,” a lot! Not sure after that! Almost smacked a dude once who asked me for a “sex screw”....what?! Oh no you didn’t! I have a sense of humor but damn dude....oh, it’s a real thing?” A “plumb bob” sounded fishy at first. Then keeping a straight face when a women asked if there was such a thing as “super glue remover” because it seemed her son had somehow glued his hand to his uh, well, his “little friend“ if you get my drift. Her lucky day, we had remover, not her son’s “lucky day” cuz that stuff takes off a layer of skin. Ouch. Hardware store vernacular is just one long innuendo after another! The world wasn’t so sensitive in those days! Sayin’. Nice presentation, nothing like a good choice of caul...nah, too easy. Trying to keep up on the latest & a four bedroom house, by myself. Thanks for the help.

That ‘aisle of intimidation’ is SO real. This video upload is unbelievably ironic timing! I had my phone on my ladder in the hallway, listening to music through my phone as I’m working- I get a notification bell of an upload & I look at it, click on it. As I’m literally on my floor caulking finishing construction/baseboards, etc. (using Alex Plus, thank God) but I clicked on the video, waiting nervously hoping I didn’t just f-up...🤣 phew 👍 but I originally used your Amazon recommendations so I felt confident I was on the right path. Also: learned a lot along the way: one of THE BEST reference videos. Thanks a ton, Jeff. I’d be in a nightmare shack without this channel. I recommend you to literally everyone. My friend Kerry aka ‘The Nosy Hausfrau’ she has her own TH-cam channel & I just adore her - anyway we both bonded over our roofing woes, but she’s one of your newest fans/subscribers. 😊🙏☮️👩🏼‍🔧Thanks for everything! 👍

This video was extremely helpful. I am finishing up my bathroom remodel and wasn't sure what the difference was between the caulk that goes on the baseboards and the one that goes on the tile tub surround. Also, I am rebuilding my raised vegetable garden and needed something to fill in the cracks between the wood siding. Saves a lot of frustration and standing in the caulking aisle for an hour trying to figure out what to use. Thanks for the tutorial Jeff!

I am glad to see training like that. Getting 6 tubes of the same caulk and getting used to one's preferred is necessary as the crap is frustrating! 😅 Just gluing old boards together to see how well different ones stick. I use 3 foot 2x4s on 3 foot 2x8s. Test them for grip after 48 hours in dark dry climate. Good practice and gives appreciation for adhesive properties.
Everytime I can caulk at home it's midnight. I always have fun even though I can't see as well as I'd like!
So far I like Lexel clear or white. It's a polymer rubber. I tried 5 to 7 other brands beforehand. This stuff stretches, goes on cold and damp. What's your favorite clear amd white brand?
If the crack is big because of various reasons, I like to shove plummers puddy into the crack as a type of backer. Or the thick quality white electrical tape. Or even scrap foam. Depends on crack size.

Awesome video Jeff. When encountering old caulk in a home that's cracked and needs repair, do you suggest going over it with some new caulk or cutting it out and starting over? Even if it's just a small crack and everything else looks fine? I've got to seal up some spaces that are entry way for ants and the like.

This is exactly what information I needed but I did not realize the video was brand new! Thanks for the informational videos.
BTW I am looking to use some sort of experiment to use adhesive to glue VCT tile to a plywood wall that has been primed. Does anybody have any suggestions for what adhesive to use?

Throttle Body Cleaner works as well on expanding foam. As long as there is acetone.

Can I use the concrete sealant for cracks in foundation? So for the cracks between exterior walls and driveway?

Jeff actually WAS a college professor, but he quickly learned there was no money in the academia. Despite trying hard to pass himself as the average Joe Reno, his vocabulary, sense of humour, and speaking manner gives away the intellectual underneath.

If you have a rectangle room, when you lay flooring do you lay it the length of the longer wall? Or the shorter wall? Or is it just based on preference?
