Check out where I found Knipex… On the rack! At Lowe’s no less! th-cam.com/video/-_Vcxsk--E4/w-d-xo.html Remember to like and Subscribe to the channel for more awesome tool reviews! We’re almost to that incredible 10K number!
It blows my mind how knipex seems to make everything different but so much better. Its almost as if they make those gimmick tools you see on infomercials at 2am but they actually work.
I got my Knipex knife for Christmas, and I love it! I carry a utility knife in all of my boxes, and the Knipex immediately found a spot in my main everyday carry. Super soild, seemingly perfect design. I plan on replacing the rest when i can afford it. Also, I love those Tajima blades. I’ve been using Olfa for a while, but I was BLOWN AWAY by the Tajima blades - not only are they super sharp, but they seem to last forever! They just keep going!
Glad you finally did the review, I love using mine, great feel in the hand, blade retraction, strong back, and a lanyard tie point. I’ll be ordering some spare blades with your link.
Just got a Knipex Cutix today on your recommendation. Am in the UK & the blades have Knipex printed on them. Have bought a spare set of 18mm Tajima’s for it.
Blade stiffener is a nice feature. My 25mm Olfa has a fixed stiffener, but not extensible like the Knipex. Worth looking into ! Thanks for another great review.....
I finally got a Knipex CutiX knife. Excellent. However mine came with Lutz blades which makes sense that Knipex would partner with a German knife blade maker. They are still black coated, however. Had to jump back to this video to make sure I didn't miss any features on this next-level utility knife. Thanks again.
@@MillisConstruction So far it is leaps and bounds above other similar type knives. At first I was worried about how slippery the sides were, then it occurred to me that perhaps I should not be holding along those edges and use a proper grip. The spine feature is what knocks my socks off. I find it hard to imagine that humans were smart enough to invent that! Overall it is worth the price if a utility knife is to be used across many jobs. For occasional use with nothing specific, it's probably a luxury item.
My favorite knife is OLFA , don't use Tjima, but next i will try knipex couse like their design and tools. But I don't think it would be better than OLFA , no can opener which is also flat and philips screwdriver ! I wonder how works blade lock's is it strong enough to holds blade in place. looks like knife will pullsout freely when stuck in stick material like PCV.
Your review is timely , I was wondering if Tajima blades would fit ( you made me a convert ! I use a lot of Stanley style ( double ended ) blades in my Milwaukee folding utility knives !
@@MillisConstruction My old Olfa will continue to be my leather working bench knife ( I’m so used to the Ergonomics , and I’ve had it for years ) . The Knipex utility will do all the in feild work ! Tajima Blades all around !
@@MillisConstruction I miked the Tajima blades they are a few thou thicker than Olfa , coupled with much better grind , they should be safer for the end user , ie: me !
@@chrisfyfe9212 I really like those Razar tajimas. They were my favorite even before seeing them in the Knipex. I’m still super partial to my Tajima black and white knife too
I don't really like the snap-off style blades so tend to stick to a standard utility knife for my work. Snap-off blades are okay for light duty work, but I usually break them when working with cabling.
Personally I prefer the folding style like the Fiskars or Lenox Gold ones that I use a lot. Just a lot smaller in the pocket too and the blades don’t snap off. These type I keep in my bags since they’re so much bigger
I liked this knife so much that I bought an second one. Interestingly though, the first came with Tajima blades as expected, but the second came with Lutz black blades.. hm..
@@MillisConstruction I have yet to test the Lutz blades (bought extra tajima and lutz blades for other knifes also), but Lutz is from Solingen, very close to Wuppertal, so maybe they either will use those, or they are used now due to corona (still lot of availability problems), but in either case, I would newer say no to blades from Solingen :) )
I actually just bought a second one here this week and they’re now branded Knipex but still look identical to the Tajima ones on this earlier knife I got
Hey! I believe those are actually a set that I picked up today on Tool of The Day at KC Tool so if you’re considering them you may want to check and see if that’s a deal or not. I do have a link to their tool of the day page in the description of most of my videos (I think anyway 😅) I did put them in my next order so they will be coming up on the channel, I do have the similar set that has cushioned jaws as well, I think I received them last week actually.
I saw that yesterday but since there wasn’t much on that model, I bought the 16” Cobras, which are great. I don’t think they have as an aggressive tooth pattern as the Cobras, which could be good for non-marring applications but I wonder if they still possibly grip as good? I’d be interested in your future video. Great reviews coming from you!
Certainly looks like a great utility knife. Is it 18mm or 25mm? Or something completely different? My current favorite utility knife is an Olfa I got on clearance at HD 😁
Love knipex tools I watched their demo video of this one and was tempted tk get it but realistically in my trade (electrician) I don’t have that much use for a blade of this type specifically, always interested in whatever knipex bring out though
Just got myself one of these but the blades in it are not from Tajima they are from another supplier. So it seems they might be using multiple blade vendors.
I’ve heard of I think Lutz blades showing up in some of them, is that what yours was? I really like the Tajima blades though so I run them in about all my knives anyway
Your channel is dangerous for me lol. i already have a problem with spending 80% of what i make on tools lol. Your collection is one i aspire to have lol
Great video, but IMHO a *HORRIBLE* knife. The extendible blade spine is an amazing feature, but changing blades is nearly impossible to do safely without using pliers (as you did) or disassembling the knife. It's sort of shocking that a design team that could come up with a really innovative improvement like the extendible spine couldn't design a blade release that actually works and doesn't require either tools or disassembly to avoid big safety risks handling the old and new blades.
Kanipex??🤣im going to go out on a really long limb here.Im probably 100% sure it’s pronounced ny’pex… Don’t know why people have such a tough time with the brand 😂
You’re limb will break in that case, It is pronounced Ku-Ni-Pex and that is directly from the company. The K is not silent. I’m not sure why people comment without doing research 😉 Here is one very recent moment from the company in the 2021 Sema Show th-cam.com/video/WhPfpylZuiA/w-d-xo.html
@@MillisConstruction man that sounds real dumb though 🤣🤣 I still will not pronounce it like that even if a rep says that’s the case. I just can’t get over that hurdle 😂
@@deekoh3996 Haha I totally understand! Lot of people won’t 🤣 They actually just released a T shirt in the Knipex merch store on Facebook called the pronunciation T shirt. Check it out sometime lol

I have several Rockhard knives and love those, but the Cutix is a different knife. I love it, it’s my go-to project knife.
Love this knife. Have 3 of them
Way cool.
I like the stock blades, I was wondering what replacements they used, I got mine in the same day my Olfa thumbscrew snapped in half.
Nice observation about the same blade!

Just bought a cutix (in the UK, but I doubt that's relevant) the blades now have a Knipex logo and P/N 90 10 165 E02 instead of Tajima
OLFA sell a serated edge utility knife blade, and you can make like a very small poket saw out, maybe for cutting pipe or wood.
i notice you have tajima blades in the cutix!

Buy the knife quickly. In Germany often only available with waiting time.

Just a heads up , ( you Prolly already know ) , Malco has some Metric nut drivers ( 6&8mm , and 8&10 mm ) . Acme tools have them .
I need to grab those. I have a ton of their flip drivers. Probably deserves a video at some point!

This one takes 3/4” blades which I believe are 18 mm in metric sizing although 3/4 directly converts to 19
