I have allot of sets too. For my birthday coming up my husband got me Rembrant Watercolor I like how you can glaze with them. For Christmas I put my own set of Roman Szmal Watercolor I put all the colors I knew I would use they are so affordable. I am a new subscriber I am enjoying your videos! Love and light to you
Wow! That’s quite a collection of watercolors. Thanks for sharing it. A mention of relative costs between the brands would also be very helpful to us newbies.
I love Qor and DS. I kept reaching for certain colors from each palette so I finally combined both palettes. There are two W&N and one Schmincke pans in it as well. I have Holbein and Mission Gold pure pigment (both sets) palettes that I love but I don't mix those with other palettes. I sold all my other sets/tubes. I have found I'm not a honey based paint person. It's always fun seeing what others have and what they prefer.
I pretty much have all those except the Mission Gold & Holbein. Also the Derwent Graphitint pencils are nice.😊 (I only have the Schmincke 9 mixer and the Urban supers of that particular brand. That Orange! Gorgeous!) QoR probably has the best Umber I’ve ever seen. Sennelier are a joy to work with. My faves are also DS and M Graham. I use that skinny whitish DS pallet for travel that comes with 6 colors but it holds 15. Fun times … & like you I have waaay too many since beginning.
Your heart speaks to mine. I love Daniel Smith the most also! It’s my go to always. I also love the art tool kits too. I’m getting ready to buy one more for my primateks only. They are a must have for my landscapes. I need a palette all by itself for them. Also so I don’t have to take my big pallets when I travel. The only difference is that I began my watercolor journey buying the best and so I don’t have all of the student grade paints. I only have the ones professional I really love and need. Except for some student grade stuff I give to my grandkids. 😁 Thank you for the video!
Daniel Smith is Also my favorite, and I do like Qor too. I see a big difference between the two when lots of juicy washes are involved. I agree with being spoiled over good brushes!
Hehe I love them all! I've been watercolouring for only two years, nothing serious but they're absolutely so much fun. I received my first three granulation half pans yesterday from the schminke range and they're beautiful. The amount of paints we can get is so overwhelming good its exciting to see what will come in the future. I love your collections. I must keep watching your chanel to see how you play with your paints. Jacksons has a sale on atm so I spoilt myself and bought more waterpaints 😬 but I enjoy painting daily too. The mixes and blends, the shimmers in some and now the granulating ones. My collecting won't be stopping anytime soon. Thank you for showing us your waterpaints. I enjoyed watching 👍
I’m so excited to see you’re doing youtube again!!! I’m going back in your list of videos to catch up on any I’ve missed. I would LOVE to see journal flip through and any wall art you’ve made. Would also love to hear which paper and brushes you like best. Especially brushes. I wanted an Escoda travel brush set for Christmas but got a kalinsky set that loses hairs when i paint. Wondered what you use. I would also love to see your field kit!!! Ok, off to catch up!!!
Out of all your collection, my favorites are the Sennelier, the Mission Gold, the Daniel Smith one and the QoR. QoR is my absolute favorite, though that recently may have become equal to the Rosa Gallery watercolors. I recently received the Schminke Botanical and 9-Pan Set and I don't like them as much as the others. They have a shine because of the binder that I don't necessarily want in my artwork. I recently moved my Koi paints to the giveaway bin. I love your shark. Wow you have a LOT of Holbein watercolors. That is a brand I haven't really had the opportunity to try yet. I have a Daniel Smith palette quite similar to yours, lol. Your travel palettes look really fun.
I have never heard of the Rosa Gallery watercolors, I'll have to look into them. I recently ordered 2 sets from A. Gallo - Italian handmade watercolors. I'm anxious to try them out. Thanks for watching!
Just "found" your channel. Thanks ever so much for sharing your knowledge and talents with the world! Video should come with a "FOMO" disclaimer. 😀 How do you decide which palettes to use for a project? Here's wishing that we all live long enough to use our supplies!
@@debbiebitner1885 oh, I do too lol. I think buying abs collecting is a must. I don't know why I just know it is lol. I tried those prima ones as well. The woodlands have been my favorite so far. I'd like to get the vintage set one day as well. Not always but sometimes I like to make paintings that look like they were painted 100 years ago. Dulling a vibrant paint doesn't really work in that instance. So I do think maybe one day I'll add the vintage set to my collection as well. LoL Nice stockpile you've got going on there.
This was so fun to watch. You made me feel not so alone in my watercolor obsession collection of paints. Now I know I am one among many such lovers of all the colors to be played with. It is so fun (a bit exhausting) to have so many choices but what's a girl to do?
I loved watching. Thanks for sharing! I love my Schmincke the most. I have Qor too and well as several other Artist Grade brands like Daniel Smith, M Graham, Winser & Newton, Holbien, & DaVinci. A little Mai Meri Blu also. The Qor is very different in that its extremely staining. It can be hard to lift even pigments that ordinarily lift easily. It also flows much faster wet into wet than any other brand. Extremely so. But that's the fun it, to see the color fly through the water.

@@debbiebitner1885 the A. Gallo watercolors look delightful - let me know what you think of them!
You should try m Graham!

Agreed. Once I've used Daniel smith there is no reason to use anything else.
I keep buying other brands (I don't know why!), but always go back to Daniel Smith. Thanks for watching.

Can you link the large tin that holds over 200? And do you use magnets on bottom of the paint pans to hold pans into the tin?
