    Fun test! Ours is homemade eggnog with both rum and brandy, aged for a couple of days in the fridge or at least overnight. Love the glass stirrer! :)

    Fun video! We do a homemade aged eggnog with bourbon, rum and cognac. We also do quick batches with just bourbon. I may have to try a spiced rum batch! Yum!

    Thanks for the comparison video.
    I routinely use Jack Daniels Tennessee Whiskey in my eggnog.
    I now want to try some of the other alcohols.

      Rum isn't usually my 1st choice in liquors but it def is in egg nog. I'm glad you liked the vid!

    Hey Jocelyn. Our choice would be Spiced Rum hands down. It's great compliment . The Brandy and Whiskey just overwhelm the drink. The Holidays are here ! Thanks for the tasty vlog.

    Sounds yummy. I'm looking for glass stirrers now. I like that. A simple way to make drink a little more elegant.

      Yes! I find them in the worst antique shops. Never the fancy ones...they charge like 10x the price and it's not like they are any different from the 1$ ones.

    We do aged eggnog in our house where we use brandy, spiced rum and whiskey. So all three go into our eggnog and we leave in in the fridge starting from September to December and it's.. AMAZING!! Thanks for this video! Happy Holidays, Wolter fam!

      @@jaycarver4886look up Alton Brown’s aged eggnog, and age it a couple months. It’s fantastic.

    I would use my 25 yo Dominican Optimus Rum or my Peruvian Cartavio XO. Or even better, leave out the eggnog and just enjoy the rum 😁😁😁 When Inwas a kid many years ago ( I was maybe 9 or 10) my granny made it with Ruby Port, and I loved it.

      @BillGreenAZ 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      As I was reading this I was thinking you don't want to water down your Peruvian Cartavio XO with egg nog. Enjoy that good stuff on its own so you can taste the full flavor of such good rum.

    I remember my parents always went with the rum, but Grandma had to have her brandy. I prefer some whiskey in mine, though.

    • @WoltersWorldEats
      @WoltersWorldEats  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      There are some good recipes online. I need to make one but basically it's milk, egg yolks, cream, sugar, nutmeg, vanilla, clove...recipes differ but generally it is simply spiced milk with sugar and cream. And I bet Scottish cream would make an excellent egg nog!

    I have to admit that I cheat and buy it “pre-nogged” from the liquor store.
    But when I make it I do like a mix of whiskey, brandy, & rum.

    Bourbon is one of my favorite drinks but I also love to "Party with the Captain" so the rum one would probably be my favorite as well.

      I saw an almond milk egg nog somewhere. But I think you could make a pretty good nog at home with oatmilk...I find its texture to be more milk like.
