I was glad that I watched this deep anime. I was even happier that Le chevalier d'Eon was actually based from a true story. It's got an intricate mix of history and fantasy. The twists were PHENOMENAL!
Man, I was really young when this first aired on Animax. I think I was about 11 or 12. I always found this boring andd never watched it but I absolutely loved the ending even back then. I rewatched it a few days ago and this just fits of preferences in entertainment in ever manner.
This is my most favorite anime. Nothing has lived up to this by far. I do love things like Code Geass, but this just tore me apart. Everything was perfect.
yes...d'eon is possessed by Lia in the last ep. but then after he takes her body and burns it so that her soul can rest in peace, d'eon himself does become a girl. The real chevalier d'eon in french history (whom this d'eon is modeled after) also lived half his life as a man and the second half as a woman. so based upon that, d'eon (in the anime) lives the second half of his life as a woman.
This was one of the saddest animes i've ever seen. there was never a happy ending in any of the episodes. I felt bad for D'eon the most. x( Overall, a good show! (:
hmmm.....this song only reminds me of all the set backs in my pitied life...i love it! ^^ but it wouldn't hurt to be reminded what it feels like to be happy every once in a while... *sigh*
I cried so hard at the end. It's the only anime I've ever screamed at the characters and cried as hard as I did. I almost had to be tied up by my sister i was going that bezerk.

Deon's life WAS part of french history. And i personally don't think that this music fit the setting at ALL. Maybe emotionally, but as far as historical acuracy goes, i would have prefered to hear something mor classical sounding.
