Alan Watts was an English Writer & Author, Speaker, and Philosopher. In The Tao of Philosophy, Seeing Through The Net 1-2, in this video we continue where we left off. Humans versus modern digital technology and the matrix, the simulation. Man versus machine. Unfortunately, most of the things Alan Watts spoke of still apply today in our modern World and ways of life. An enormous amount of scientific knowledge is trivial when life comes at you from all sides, everywhere, all at once; and the only thing you've got to deal with it is your own mind. The human brain always underlies our computers and gadgets, the structured civilization. Quoting Lynn White who said that academics today only focus on 3 forms of intelligence, when there are several different types of intelligence. Other kinds of intelligence are ignored in our school systems. As people, human beings have extraordinary potential. Bees can't fly by the laws of aerodynamics, but they do. Our modern technology is going to destroy the environment and lead to extinction. Human consciousness and knowing ourselves, truly knowing and trusting ourselves, is very important. We have too much linear thinking, control, and order. We see things as we do through a spotlight, or a floodlight, or through the holes of a fishing net. We need more wiggles, more goo, and the only thing that can provide that is within ourselves and our own brains. We've confused the money with the wealth and the menu with the dinner, and we're starving on eating menus.
