I love the way the chickens follow Phillips around when he is on the excavator. Just when you think they will get run over, they quickly jump out of the way.
My husband & I love the chickens, they are always with you. My husband says you should get them little hi-viz jackets, so you can see them when you have digger out 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂❤
Odin is getting so big and his curly blonde hair is adorable. Lovely to see him walking and enjoying the country life you've created for him. Your rooster and hens are very funny to watch.
I didn't expect Belgians to speak English with a Dutch accent until my brain started working again and I realized they must be Flemish? I just stumbled upon this channel and quickly learned to love it. Subscribed in a heartbeat. Shut up now everybody, I have to bingewatch the rest.
Your chickens make me laugh, they follow Phillipe and the excavator around... He's like the pied piper of Chickens! Odin is such a cutie, he must be such a joy to you both. Hope you feel better soon. Love watching your videos.
Hello there I have been waiting on a new video ❤ it really looks nice guys and the garden is going to be a nice size ! The precious son is getting so big. Thank you for sharing your journey ❤
Thank you Cindy, the garden is already a nice size! We would like to mow less and have patches of wild flowers in the future but for now we need to mow all to get rid of those brambles hopefully!
I really enjoy watching your work on your farm! What a transformation you are doing! (Philippe, do you have a brother that did sailing videos ”Feel the breeze” on TH-cam a couple of years ago? Your voice sounds very much like his!)
Looking forward to a whole video with 100% sunshine, probably you more than me. Your place is really transforming, your hard work is paying off👍. Sitting in the rain and "relaxing" with a glass of wine...making the best of what you got😄
That was nearly another squashed chicken Everything looking green and lush never heard of a blackberry bush like that. That white chicken loves your family 🙂
20:15 a paint scraper is good for removing the grass, if you could get a male hose connector screwed to the deck you could attach a garden hose and just run the blades with the water running for a few minutes to clear the deck too. Loving the show.
We arrive tomorrow from Canada, and it looks like the first 5 days we will be welcomed with rain. Oh well. We will be there for 3 weeks so I am sure we will see some good weather.😊
The fence around the garden looks wonderful! I love watching the chickens looking for worms you may have churned up with the tiller. Smart chickens! It's always fun to watch your videos. Blessed Be!
Thx Sharon, it is a big difference with just cleaning it up. In the future we want to start planning some wild flower patches etc.. But first we need to keep mowing the brambles in the hope they give up!
Thanks for a brilliant video you guys, it is always a joy to watch you. Odin is becoming a proper little boy. I gasped as the chicken nearly went under little digger, but great footage! This rain is a total pain, we’re at our house and still trying to cut the grass!
Would the netting have been used to cover fruit trees or berries? Great to see what you and the extended family have accomplished and what you continue to accomplish! Your lawn looks ready for croquet or all sorts of sports and games! Perfect for Odin as he gets bigger! It is a beautiful thing to see the thought and care that the two of you put towards bringing this property back to a cleaner, healthier condition. It looks like the land is breathing again.
Thank you Gloria, the netting was used to cover crops, there was a black plastic there as well and underneath small berms like you would do to plant vegetables.
That little white chicken has nerves of steel-she’s right up near you 100%. I love these videos you’re so precise; of course Odin your wife, June & I’m not sure if I’ve seen a cat? Australia 🇦🇺
OOH was a bit worried when the chickens were near your digger but they soon moved out of the way. Rain or sunshine it does not matter you still work in what ever the weather . Looking good👏
Please consider having your son wear hearing protection when riding the lawn mower with you. You also should wear it as well. My friend’s son had some hearing loss from riding on the lawn mower with her husband every time he mowed. My husband has hearing loss from mowing the lawn and using the chainsaw and leaf blower. 😭
I am enjoying immensely all your labors. Especially I love the occasional blues piano. If you don't already doing it, always remove the cable from the spark plug on any machine when cleaning or working on it.
It is so lovely to see Odin exploring more now that he is walking "The world awaits!" you have done so much work, you should give yourselves a huge pat on the back, well done
I feel all of your pain, the rain never stops. We are here un our house in the cruise and cutting the grass is almost impossible! Still, you make good progress 😊
Hey Jean, we were in the Creuse this Sunday. Luckily it wasn't too bad until we left in the evening it started pouring again. We were close to Aubusson!
Gosh..... you've worked amazingly hard, focussed and intensely, it's surprising how organised it's all looking now. Well done. It seems all manageable now but very hard work which you seem to enjoy. xxx Take care not to run over the chickens with your digger!!! LOL
You have come such a long way in just over a year, love watching your improvement’s it’s winter in New Zealand so we have wet weather at present and snow down south .
It is almost a year, we arrived mid June last year and the videos are two weeks behind. The weather is still soo rainy over here.. it has to stop sometime 😁
Have you considered an idea we have here in Canada.... a market garden, where people come and pick/harvest by hand themselves and pay for what they take ? It is less work for you - but only if you have the population to support it. It would leave you with maintaining the gardens, but getting a nice return on all of the beautiful land you have available
Hey Patricia, there are a few bio market garden around the area that sell their produce on the markets around the villages. I don't know if a hand pick would work here in the area, a lot of the people here have their own small veg garden.
I don't know if those chickens are very smart or very stupid. They know to follow the excavator to get the grubs and worms you dig up but sometimes it is a very close call when they are too brave. They would be a pain in the neck if you didn't trust them to get out of the way in time. lol They are fun to watch.
I just found your channel and I am so impressed with your work in that beautiful but challenging place. I am watching a bit out of order but it matters not every video is very satisfying. Thank you!
Hey Daytona, the fence is 1.20m high so they should be able to jump it easily if they want too, but hopefully a barrier will deter them a little bit. We don't see them in the garden often cause we do have our dog outside so it should be fine.
Hey Nicolas, the old barn is still getting wet but the newer barn where my tools are has been dry ever since and even with the crazy amount of rain this week it stays dry! We still need to finish the digging but it has been impossible to do...
I don’t know how Philippe can work with the excavator with the chickens in the way no matter where he turns or what he does. I guess the fact that they are still alive shows that they can take care of themselves.
You appear to have some bats. Nice. They eat their weight in mosquitos every so often. I see ours just before dawn and just after when there is still a bit of light from the horizon. 🥲🥲
You are amazing. So much hard work, but it seems that you are always positiv! Ty for showing us this wonderful process 🙏👍.
The hens are happy when there is some digging work on the soil becauses then they find a lot of worms.
I love the way the chickens follow Phillips around when he is on the excavator. Just when you think they will get run over, they quickly jump out of the way.
My husband & I love the chickens, they are always with you. My husband says you should get them little hi-viz jackets, so you can see them when you have digger out 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂❤
Haha maybe it already exists for chickens it wouldn't surprise me 😂
Love your videos a lot. But you sure get a lot of rain.
Your channel is one of my favorites. You are both doing a fantastic job of clearing the land and Odin is the star of the show! Well done all of you.
Thank you very much, and yes Odin is a cutie pie 😍
Thay was so close
Beautiful 😍
I am amazed that you don’t run over the chickens. You are definitely a master at driver the digger
Lucky they still have some sense to get away. It is the rooster who gets the most dangerous!! He would crawl underneath it...
Odin is getting so big and his curly blonde hair is adorable. Lovely to see him walking and enjoying the country life you've created for him. Your rooster and hens are very funny to watch.
Hey Cool, every day he gets a bit better walking! It is not easy here because nothing is straight 😂
Its good to have a family visiting you guys. Your baby' is so cute. 😊
Thank you! 🤗
I didn't expect Belgians to speak English with a Dutch accent until my brain started working again and I realized they must be Flemish? I just stumbled upon this channel and quickly learned to love it. Subscribed in a heartbeat. Shut up now everybody, I have to bingewatch the rest.
Hello Lo, indeed we are from the Flemish part 😂
Wow! The End of the Plastic Soil Era!!! What a cool progress! Congrats!!!! Garten looks absolut superb now!
Thx, haha there is more to clean but it is the end for now 👍😁
You should get rid the old barn and build a new one
Congrats you did a very good job of clearing the bushes and the property looks awesome 👍❤
Hey Martha, yeah the clearing and cleaning is very satisfying to do and watch 🙏😅
Your chickens make me laugh, they follow Phillipe and the excavator around... He's like the pied piper of Chickens! Odin is such a cutie, he must be such a joy to you both. Hope you feel better soon. Love watching your videos.
Thx Helen! Yeah the chickens add a dynamic to the work we do 😂
Odin has grown so much and is really enjoying be a part of the farm. Thanks for sharing.
You are welcome Shehazi!
Rain barrels to conserve the pure water for gardening would be lovely for the future. Chicken droppings are great for the garden.
You must admit that the white hen is the star of the farm😂😂😂🐔🐔🐔
I really enjoy watching your work on your farm! What a transformation you are doing! (Philippe, do you have a brother that did sailing videos ”Feel the breeze” on TH-cam a couple of years ago? Your voice sounds very much like his!)
So cute to see Odin walking everywhere. 🥰
He is getting very quick!
Looking forward to a whole video with 100% sunshine, probably you more than me. Your place is really transforming, your hard work is paying off👍. Sitting in the rain and "relaxing" with a glass of wine...making the best of what you got😄
Haha no choice if we would stay inside every time it rains we would get nothing done 🤣
That was nearly another squashed chicken Everything looking green and lush never heard of a blackberry bush like that. That white chicken loves your family 🙂
The rooster takes the most risk!
Oh dear more rain, I’m impressed with your English language ingress is not a common word, you have an excellent vocabulary
Hey IPC, thx for the compliment! It is not always easy having to juggle 3 languages now 😂
20:15 a paint scraper is good for removing the grass, if you could get a male hose connector screwed to the deck you could attach a garden hose and just run the blades with the water running for a few minutes to clear the deck too.
Loving the show.
This is actually a very good tip! I am gonna look for a male hose connector.
We arrive tomorrow from Canada, and it looks like the first 5 days we will be welcomed with rain. Oh well. We will be there for 3 weeks so I am sure we will see some good weather.😊
Hey Perry! Yes this week will be terrible but after that they are saying we will have sunshine... Let's hope they are right!
The fence around the garden looks wonderful! I love watching the chickens looking for worms you may have churned up with the tiller. Smart chickens!
It's always fun to watch your videos.
Blessed Be!
Thx Abigail, when we drive the tiller we put them away from time to time because they would stick their head into the blades if they could 🤨😂
the garden is looking lovely you should be proud of yourselves
Thx Sharon, it is a big difference with just cleaning it up. In the future we want to start planning some wild flower patches etc.. But first we need to keep mowing the brambles in the hope they give up!
You both are such a loving hardworking couple.I love your home.
Thx!
Thanks for a brilliant video you guys, it is always a joy to watch you. Odin is becoming a proper little boy.
I gasped as the chicken nearly went under little digger, but great footage!
This rain is a total pain, we’re at our house and still trying to cut the grass!
Hey LL, the rain what can we say it seems like it is getting worse and worse ... 🤣

Ah the cat is Lucie 😁
Another good video to watch.
Your channel has to be one of the best.
Thx Dennis for the great compliment!!
I must say the place is looking just beautiful even in the rain
Yeah the rain is great for nature! 😁
We did a huge garden growing up on Texada Island. Needed a 6 foot chain link fence to keep the deer out! Good luck with your seeds!
For now no sign of anything trying to eat or potatoes or onions 🙏
Those chickens are brave around the excavator!
They like to live on the edge!
Amazing how much rain you get ..The land and garden are wonderful..sure can see all of your hard work paying off..stay well and enjoy some sunshine !
And it is still pouring, hopefully soon some sunshine!
Odin has a very nice smile... you are raising a charmer. Be prepared for a swarm of girls at Teenage time! 😅😂
Hahaha we will see what the future brings 😂
OOH was a bit worried when the chickens were near your digger but they soon moved out of the way. Rain or sunshine it does not matter you still work in what ever the weather . Looking good👏
Thx Anette, yeah they cut it close sometimes 🤣
Great job!
Thank you Ann!
I really enjoy your videos. You are creating a wonderful place for your family to grow. You have very brave and determined chickens:-)
Thx Camb!
Wow…..another good but exhausting video!
I get tired just watching you both work so hard!…😂😂😂
Hahaha thx, we do take some rest especially with all the rain 😂😅
Please consider having your son wear hearing protection when riding the lawn mower with you. You also should wear it as well. My friend’s son had some hearing loss from riding on the lawn mower with her husband every time he mowed. My husband has hearing loss from mowing the lawn and using the chainsaw and leaf blower. 😭
Hey Deborah, we do it a lot of times but we should always do it. We will have a look if we can get some baby sized ones for him and i should do too.
Oh yeah especially now he is getting very good at walking 🤗
6.00 That little chap si a bruiser!
🙏
Wonderful to watch you all treat the earth with a conscience
Thx Noel, a little respect goes a long way and will serve us in the future!
Your faithful dog never leaves your side...placd is spectacular after your hard work👍
She is always there!
Ah, that's slightly south of us. On Saturday, we are going back to Scotland for more rain, probably 😊
Gosh..... you've worked amazingly hard, focussed and intensely, it's surprising how organised it's all looking now. Well done. It seems all manageable now but very hard work which you seem to enjoy. xxx Take care not to run over the chickens with your digger!!! LOL
Thx Lesley, the chickens will be fine! The digger drives slow so they should have plenty of time to get out of the way!
I love seeing you guys and your beautiful farmland. Looking forward to your next video. Thanks for showing.
Thank you George!!
Great to see you are all on the mend. 🙂
Thx Tony!
You have come such a long way in just over a year, love watching your improvement’s it’s winter in New Zealand so we have wet weather at present and snow down south .
It is almost a year, we arrived mid June last year and the videos are two weeks behind. The weather is still soo rainy over here.. it has to stop sometime 😁
try and get ground cover/mulch on your planted beds, you can use dried grass cuttings❤
The Potatoes will cover the weeds but for the smaller beds we will use the wood chippings we have.
@@DomaineSauvage need to get cover whilst potatoes growing, biomas cover crop, maybe clover it all helps and stops erosion, morw work but worth it
What a lovely picture of you and your wife 🎉❤
Thx Christine!
Have you considered an idea we have here in Canada.... a market garden, where people come and pick/harvest by hand themselves and pay for what they take ? Zojuist bingwatching gedaan met jullie kanaal. Erg leuk
Hey ron! Thx om te kijken!!!
Such a transformation, a great watch 👍
Thx Al!!
❤❤❤
👍😘
Hello beutifull family this is granny from south africa l hope you are doing well❤❤
Hey Nomvula, we are doing great, just the weather needs to improve 😘
you family are my super favorite!!!!
Thx Jacqueline we appreciate it! 😘
I don't know if those chickens are very smart or very stupid. They know to follow the excavator to get the grubs and worms you dig up but sometimes it is a very close call when they are too brave. They would be a pain in the neck if you didn't trust them to get out of the way in time. lol They are fun to watch.
Sometimes i do put them away, especially when tilling because they would stick their head underneath.. 😅
I just found your channel and I am so impressed with your work in that beautiful but challenging place. I am watching a bit out of order but it matters not every video is very satisfying. Thank you!
You do as you like 😉
Awesome 😊😊😊
Thx!!
I live on the Pacific Northwest in the US. I know all about mowing in the rain.
Haha let us hope for less rain this year 😅
Its incredible that your chickens are still alive 😂😂
Rampant nature! 🌳🌱🌿
It's looking wonderful 😊
Sadly livestock fencing causes deer really bad leg injuries, if they get caught in it mid flight/jump.
Hey Daytona, the fence is 1.20m high so they should be able to jump it easily if they want too, but hopefully a barrier will deter them a little bit. We don't see them in the garden often cause we do have our dog outside so it should be fine.
🥰
Thx Patricia!
Chickens will jump that fence easily!!
But looks great.
We ended up with 6 foot fences
This one is 1.2m high, i think that is 4 foot?
🎉
Thx Roos!
garden looks good. great job, curious about how the barns are doing now that you have removed all the dirt. are they hey finally drying?
Hey Nicolas, the old barn is still getting wet but the newer barn where my tools are has been dry ever since and even with the crazy amount of rain this week it stays dry!
We still need to finish the digging but it has been impossible to do...
I will trade some Colorado sunshine for your French rain.
Send it over!!!!! This week the rain has even become more abundant, i am seeing water come up in places i didn't even think of.
Your weather sounds the same as ours in Scotland, UK, 4 seasons in 1 day.
I don’t know how Philippe can work with the excavator with the chickens in the way no matter where he turns or what he does. I guess the fact that they are still alive shows that they can take care of themselves.
You have very nosy chickens. Lol😂
Oh I worry about those chickens when on the bobcat, please don’t run any of them over
The footage was sped up 😅, sometimes we put them inside if they get too close!
Another great video! Just wondering what has happened to the tractor you found a little while back?
Hey Michelle, it is still where we found it. When the weather gets better we can try to bring it up!
Did you repaint the underside of the mower deck?
Hey Gordon, no it is becoming bare metal now. I wont be painting it because it will just get sand blasted off again.
Very fertile looking soil.did i see your main house sinking, or just the way it wal videoed.
Kamikaze chickens!
They like to live a dangerous life!
Your chickens are dare devils.
Hahaha they sure like to live on the edge!
Toch wel jammer dat jullie niet gewoon Vlaams spreken; zijn de engels-sprekende kijkers zo in de meerderheid?
Hey Marlies! Het overgrote deel van onze kijkers is engelstalig, gemakkelijk 75%.
You appear to have some bats. Nice. They eat their weight in mosquitos every so often. I see ours just before dawn and just after when there is still a bit of light from the horizon. 🥲🥲
