  • 2 weeks ago, 2 big new stories came out in the world of Formula 1. One of them being that Andretti's bid to enter Formula 1 had been rejected, to the disappointment and anger of many fans, and the other being the shocking driver transfer of Lewis Hamilton, who will be moving to Ferrari in 2025, after over a decade with Mercedes. In this video, I give my thoughts and opinions on both of these huge stories.

5:50 I think this might be the case. I mean, while I was watching Mercedes car launch, Lewis looked so done. And when He spoke, it felt like it was just because he had to.
We'll see how Ferrari will handle the situation. The comparison to 2007 McLaren situation is very interesting, since it would be sort of role reversal for Lewis. I think it's too early to say if Lewis to Ferrari will work out or not. Let's wait and see it unfold.
As for Carlos, I just can't see him anywhere else other than Sauber/Audi. And as for Merc's second seat, I'll choose out of left field option and the second seat will be filled with Mick Schumacher. Antonelli is my other choice, but he would need strong title charge in F2 to get that seat.
As for Andretti, let's just say the FOM are bunch of hypocrites and that the whole thing could've been handled a whole lot better. As for the crap that is the FOM assessment:
    14. I completely agree, defying 'competitive' is rather broad scale. They can't seriously expect Brawn GP 2.0 to happen
    15. It was known they'll be choosing Renault for so long, plus even if they didn't choose a engine supplier, they'll get Renault anyway due to the rules
    16. Research? What research? What's the source (other than we made it the f**k up) of the 'research'? As for recognition, in my opinion only Ferrari could rival the recognition of F1
    17. You are completely right, F1/FOM should've planned for something like new teams due to the Concordeagreement. Nothing more or less could be said about it
    18. Some financial crap I don't understand (even though I had accounting and economics in middle school) plus Andretti said they are good to cough up the Cash required
    19. Like you said, meanwhile Schnitzel racing Punch Sauber and Racing Bullshit exist
    20. Basicaly confirming that F1 is doing this only because they want GM to enter
(Fun fact, Red Bull entered into F1 sponsorship via a personal deal with Gerhard Berger in 1989 I believe)

I personally don't believe that Lewis moving to Ferrari is a bad move, sure I do think its a risk because this is Ferrari at the end of the day but Lewis moving to Ferrari isn't for the money. Lewis moving to Ferrari is to drive for Ferrari, Period. Lets not forget of course Alex Albon saying he was a massive Ferrari fanboy when he was younger 😅
Onto Andretti, of course its totally absurd that they have been rejected, really not sure why F1/Liberty/FOM think this is a good idea and that it will "devalue" the sport or whatever kind of stupid logic they can think of to reject their entry. The simple point of the matter is look at WEC and the amount of manufacturers they are attracting into the sport. The hype around the new hypercar era is extremely high.
Been waiting for this video for 2 weeks and I was not disappointed, keep it up Joe!

As an American Motor Sports fan I can say that with in the USA the Andretti brand has more value than F1. For the average American Andretti means speed and racing excellence. F1 is that Euro-Indy series they do a Netflix show about. As an American I take the whole FOM statement as:
'While we want to milk all the American dollars we can out of the USA market we don't actually want any nasty rude Americans to come with those $$$$. How about we give you another over priced street race instead?'
