I am contemplating on doing this for my home recording studio. I am getting alot of ground hum coming thru my sensitive audio recording equipment. I am unable to tamper with my apartment wall outlets and was wondering would this help me by pass dealing with housing and lease issues.

Your 60Hz hum could be but is probably not coming from the ground. I would be surprised if your recording device didn't filter AC hum out of the ground. I would start with power supplies for your various household items like: PC, cell phone, and other consumer electronics and start unplugging them and see if your hum goes away. The goal is to keep unplugging stuff until you find which device is AC coupling noise into your recording device.

@reasonpTv your hum is potentially conning within the same equipment or 2 different phases of circuits. Your best way to solve or narrow down is to unplug one device at a time until the noise level goes down.
