The actual GOAT. I wish we had a time machine to go pick him up and drop him off in a match against Floyd Jr. See how long it takes for Henry to beat the arrogance out of him. And then beat the Pretty Boy out of him too.

@@Thor-OrionHe's somewhat correct. It used to be that way because they changed the rules because of Armstrong holding 3 at one time. Armstrong was the first to do it and they didn't want that to happen again. Back in the day, after Armstrong 3 division hold,if you were a Champion and wanted to move up or down in weight to win another Championship, you had to vacate the one you currently held before claiming another. This was way before there were 16 divisions and at the least 5 guys per division claiming to be Champion.

Boxing differs from all other sports in one important respect - there is less competition today than ever before. You don't get this problem with other sports.
Basically there's no way anyone can become any good if they hardly ever fight. Today's fighters may have the potential to be good, but its a potential that's never fulfilled for this reason.

  • @Saskobest

On one hand technology, training and stuff envolved over the years but the fighters from the 70s,80s had will, heart and determination that nowdays boxers dont have. Those guys needed to fight and train more cause the payment was lower, and also most of the black boxer had to fight racism and stuff in their careers. You put those boxers in this modern time with better diet, gym and stuff,no boxer would stand more than 2 rounds with either of them.

You are absolutely right. Boxer from this generation can’t be compare with those of the past; strong, skilful. How a guy could be better with total 40 fights than those with 240fights and 146kos?
That’s amazing stamina and well power to do so over 2-3 decades.

Watch Duran v S R Leonard first fight. Then tell me who is the greatest ever.
Its a pity Duran had to loose 40lb for the 2nd fight. If it wasnt for this fight Duran would easily be seen as the best ever.
Look at Alis fights. Liston appears to take dives in both. Fights Patterson who was squashed by Liston twice in 2 minutes.
Gets suspended. 4 years later comes back a poorer fighter. Beats some nobodies then gets thumped by Frazier in 71.
Goes on to beat Foreman then Frazier. Ali only beat 2 great fighters of his era. Duran beat 5 of his era. Most big named fighters like Tyson only beat fighters who were way below them. Tyson didnt fight a great fighter of his era because there was noone else.
