damn lighthouses are so underrated in horror genre, they always use hospital, graveyard, etc, but a lighthouse? it's very isolated and surrounded by ocean, no way out except you can paddle your boat 50km/h if something is chasing you. if something really chasing you inside the lighthouse there's no other way to go but up, but what then? the monster's not gonna wait for you to go down, is it?
Lighthouses are a horror setting due in part that they are often isolated with little outside contact. You can be expected to be on your own. I think Lovecraft used some lighthouses in his settings as well.
Also because of the proximity to the sea, and the sea was kinda central to his works. But yeah, they're old, not a lot of people go around them, they tend to be far away from civilization, and can have some good scenery around with with waves crashing up against a craggy cliff or something.
A lighthouse for Phasmo or GHC would be great! You could have a wooden area a bit smaller than Grafton, a living area, and then some small outbuildings around it.
They were used to warn ships that they were getting too close to shore during times when either weather or time of day would prevent people seeing the shores otherwise.
I wonder if the AI that you're chasing as the monster is following the same path you, as the player, took. That'd be neat. Either way, cool-ass game! I haven't seen a game switch to second-person like that before. :O
Nice playthrough. I thought I sequence broke my own game so I searched up playthroughs and tried to watch another before you. Heavy youtuber reactions, so loud I couldn't even comprehend what was going on in game. But this game is not a jumpscare scream kinda game, it just unsettles and spooks you every now and then. I found your playthrough and you were very genuine and fun to watch. Accurate reactions to my own lol.
You should play 'Song of Horror'! It's such a stunning game where you get the option to choose your character out of several with their own abilities, and if you die you lose that character. It has lots of puzzles in it and it's just wonderful. It has several 'episodes' too so you could always try out the first one and see how it is haha. Would love to see you play it someday, keep up the amazing work
From what i know there are multiple endings, at the end you (as monster) were supposed to bring keeper alive and make sacrifice to the island (and turn next keeper into moth) - that'd cause "cycle" ending, but you actually killed him and cycle was broken - at the end we can see falling lighthouse. You can also get a gun (as keeper) and kill moth instead of running under lighthouse in last day (that will also broke the cycle) so you can survive. Please consider "Phobia 1.5" as your next horror for yt :)
From what I gather, the lighthouse works as a known point. You build them I guess near particularly dangerous shorelines so that the ships see them from a distance and know to keep their distance. I think that's it at least. It explains why you have to use rowboats to get to them a lot.
That was a nifty game and a very fun watch! I have a fear of insects in large numbers so when those moths piled on the lighthouse I had to cover my eyes like a big baby and just listen 😂 it was awful but worth it. Thanks for another great video!!
This was a super cool eldritch game... The island is "alive" with some sort of lovecraftian life force existing within it and it consumes the lighthouse keepers as they come and then they BECOME the vessel for it each time
My take on this game. The guy who gets the lighthouse keepers to the island, is the one who opened the chest and stole it. He has to "feed" the moths with fresh humans constantly. In the "chase" you either get dragged by the giant insect, or you fall into the fleshy prison back.. who knows. .maybe that converts you into a new giant insect. As for the ending.. its my imagination or either the house was actually alive (with the heart). Or it crashed down?
I heard about this game! Never really saw any gameplays, i mostly only watch horror gameplays only from you haha 😆 you give such a great vibe, i dont have time for twitch lately so youtube is my savior 😁
if you liked this game, "Seashells" is similar in that its based in a lighthouse and it has the same retro look to it, I really recommend it, very spooky
Hey Insym, great game! As you said you liked it and the art style, i strongly suggest you play Mundaun, it's a immersive horror game focused in a brilliant storytelling in an isolated region of the alps.. it haves that ps2 graphics style, but it's combined with hand drawn things everywhere, so it's pretty unique. And the mechanics are amazing, emphasizing in the immersive aspect (even the language is of the real region) as you descend into madness. Really can't recommend it enough.
This for some reason made me think of Runescape and the Dagannoth beneath the lighthouse. Last time I played that was maybe 10 years ago, but I still remember.
@insym I'm the one that recommended this game, just fyi there are multiple endings. Might wanna try to find all the medallions for your chest... Wink wink... Or you can just watch a vid on the multiple endings lol. Stay Awes9me
Hey Insym I suggest you to play haunt chaser too. Its like phasmophobia and stuff but the thing is map is huge and wants you to solve puzzles in order to exorcise the ghost. I know you interested :D
To all the people saying "hello yt!" Hello to you too! Wish I could join you, but I unfortunately don't have a twitch/whatever account, and probably won't be getting one.
Insym, theres a horror game demo called Employee of the Month by Projeckt Skeleton. It's a lot like the convenience store in terms of graphics and gameplay! I'd love to watch you play it
I loved this game. Was thinking of of bringing it to your attention. Lighthouse map for Phasmo has been on my wishlist since the beginning for sure. Part of the scariness with Lighthouses is the isolation, rather than possible hauntings I feel :) good video!
and with that, he never went back into a lighthouse, be in in real life, or a fictional game world. thank you insym, pretty soon I won't be able to leave my house!
I agree this was a fantastic game. However I wish some of the sound elements were improved. I couldn't tell if some audio cues were supposed to mean someone or something was running around your house/lighthouse or knocking on the doors. Also the roars in the last part when you fixed the roof were kinda out of place. I couldn't tell what they were going for if it was trying to say "Theres now a monster screaming on the island" or if it was trying to say its coming for you hurry or something. Especially weird because your character is just sitting there calmly repairing the roof and whatnot. Also the story line confused be to no end. Couldn't figure out if the POV switches were supposed to be a flashback, time skip, or changing to the prior lighthouse guy or what. All in all just some nitpicks but it still was enjoyable to watch.
"No one's home." *turns on the single biggest light in the area, to let them know no one's home* Also I assume you saw in editing, but I think 11:57 is a seagull? Not sure what the fuck the rest of it was though, other than a very good spook.
Oh btw, on how to make a viable Lighthouse map for a ghost hunting game: A lot of lighthouses are also landlocked and have an entire house attached to it. They also have multiple floors inbetween the spiral staircases. Just imagine a Phasmo street map attached to a huge tower with multiple floors. I really really REALLY hope DK has got something like that lodged in the back of his mind somewhere or something, haha. Worst nightmare: spiral stair ghost :p
interesting graphics, these "retroshaders" ) Insym, have you ever played "Alone In The Dark" games? The first in this series was released in '92 first in genre "survival horror" and they called now "classic" . There are 3 games total and one awfull remake. They somehow looks like this "retroshaders" games, but they have original graphics and there was no "shaders" term even at the time games released. However, i'm not sure people now would like to see them.
I may be wrong as fuck, but ffs, his breathing when he runs out of stamina sounds exactly the same like breathing in fnaf 3 when you get a jumpscare kekw
btw 11:20, whats the worst that could happen? so belive me or not but by watching and only by watching this funny boi for almost a year I managed to chang my attidude towards dealing with problems irl. like I would never thought that by watching some1 playing phasmo and other horror games i would... grow ba.. hair on chest
i'm sad this game doesn't suit me at all, only big jumpscare loud music don't really afraid me i won't qualify it as an horror game. But i love the ambiance and the story around, pretty interesting game. To be honest i think lighthouse are scary, because they drive insane the keeper, because of the lonelyness it can crave in your psyche, ending with suicid, went mad, and others problem, that make every lighthouse a well of crazy and eerie stories. keep it up love all that horror game you are playing, even if they don't feet me it's still a good entertainement !
damn lighthouses are so underrated in horror genre, they always use hospital, graveyard, etc, but a lighthouse? it's very isolated and surrounded by ocean, no way out except you can paddle your boat 50km/h if something is chasing you. if something really chasing you inside the lighthouse there's no other way to go but up, but what then? the monster's not gonna wait for you to go down, is it?
There's a great movie that came out in 2019 called The Lighthouse. Does it all well
Lighthouses are a horror setting due in part that they are often isolated with little outside contact. You can be expected to be on your own. I think Lovecraft used some lighthouses in his settings as well.

The game is very lovecraftian with it's themes. Even the pyramid like aztec temple is super lovecraftian.
Oh does this game actually move between 1st and 2nd person view? That is such a cool idea for a horror game. See yourself get hunted.
the sound design for this game is awesome
A lighthouse for Phasmo or GHC would be great! You could have a wooden area a bit smaller than Grafton, a living area, and then some small outbuildings around it.
That's exactly what we got too! Its a brutal map and its too spooky 4 me 😭
They were used to warn ships that they were getting too close to shore during times when either weather or time of day would prevent people seeing the shores otherwise.
I thought they were just lights for the sea
I wonder if the AI that you're chasing as the monster is following the same path you, as the player, took. That'd be neat. Either way, cool-ass game! I haven't seen a game switch to second-person like that before. :O

The sound design is amazing and the use of second pov is so rare in video games but was done incredibly well.
To the guy at 53:03 who said "who smoked the fattest vape around the lighthouse" congratulations man you cracked me up
I've kept meaning to recommend this game to you for months now, seemed right up your alley. Glad somebody else remembered!
From what i know there are multiple endings, at the end you (as monster) were supposed to bring keeper alive and make sacrifice to the island (and turn next keeper into moth) - that'd cause "cycle" ending, but you actually killed him and cycle was broken - at the end we can see falling lighthouse.

37:14 I. Am. Crying. 😂😂😂😂😂😂
First the rapid succession “aaaargh”s and then the hope that he ..could ..go ..all ..the “aaaaaaargh!” 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
From what I gather, the lighthouse works as a known point. You build them I guess near particularly dangerous shorelines so that the ships see them from a distance and know to keep their distance.
I think that's it at least. It explains why you have to use rowboats to get to them a lot.
One thing I hate about being so early is the fact that I don’t get any time stamps for the jumpscares 🥺
I read the title as “No one actually lives under the lighthouse” and idk why I just thought it was funny
I read it that way too!
I didn’t even notice that wasn’t what it said till I read your comment.
me too lol
I changed it to avoid confusion lol
17:48 "Noooooo, what's in the box? oh God, no! What's in the box?!!"
That was a nifty game and a very fun watch! I have a fear of insects in large numbers so when those moths piled on the lighthouse I had to cover my eyes like a big baby and just listen 😂 it was awful but worth it. Thanks for another great video!!
This was a super cool eldritch game... The island is "alive" with some sort of lovecraftian life force existing within it and it consumes the lighthouse keepers as they come and then they BECOME the vessel for it each time
32:33 a nice dutch joke. I liked that
My take on this game.

The whole island is alive I think
mm lets appreciate this man for uploading so much videos
The lenses in many lighthouses were floated on mercury so a small weight could be used to rotate them for a very long time.
5:17
"shouts no one's home"
*This action reduced your IQ by 10%*
I think I heard about something like this happening IRL where people of a certain lighthouse all disappeared one night they were not found too..
Legit makes me so happy that Insym is posting loads, adds a welcome spooky chill to ma day!
Games with these types of graphics always make you feel in the situation.
There’s something really interesting about Lighthouse horror. “The Lighthouse” is one of my all time fav horror movies
Imagine being big sadge and all of the sudden my man Insym comes in hot to save the day with new video
Hey Insym, great game!

Of course. The giant lämp would attract the giant möth. In this case, the möthman.
Getting scared for our enjoyment thanks insym :)
"Is that a penis? Its a light house i know I'm just being a funny guy"
I literally spilt my tea. That was s funny hahah
57:38
That jump scare made me scream so loud I think my neighbors may have called the police on me
This for some reason made me think of Runescape and the Dagannoth beneath the lighthouse. Last time I played that was maybe 10 years ago, but I still remember.
26:57 Wow, that was unexpected but awesome
@insym I'm the one that recommended this game, just fyi there are multiple endings. Might wanna try to find all the medallions for your chest... Wink wink... Or you can just watch a vid on the multiple endings lol. Stay Awes9me

hope youre doing well!! thank u for always uploading such great content :-)
With my irrational and pretty large fear of moths, i can safely say at 30:40 i panicked a little
34:12 There's no-one on the island but yourself, why would you even want a door in your outhouse
To all the people saying "hello yt!" Hello to you too! Wish I could join you, but I unfortunately don't have a twitch/whatever account, and probably won't be getting one.
My heart while watching this. Don't show this to your grandparents!
i like how the heavy breathing when youre tired is from fnaf 3
You are the best youtuber / twitch streamer
very spooky yes
Give m⌀thman his big rotating lamp already
52:20 "We Sunk"
LOL
Haven't played this myself but I think there are multiple endings we didn't see here, that you can replay to get. Just what I heard
Insym, theres a horror game demo called Employee of the Month by Projeckt Skeleton. It's a lot like the convenience store in terms of graphics and gameplay! I'd love to watch you play it
Yessss!
This is such a beautiful and creepy game, I love it
Always love your gameplay haha its so funny
I would love to watch you play the Cube Escape/ Rusty Lake series.
awesome game! The graphic and sounds creeping me out
I loved this game. Was thinking of of bringing it to your attention. Lighthouse map for Phasmo has been on my wishlist since the beginning for sure. Part of the scariness with Lighthouses is the isolation, rather than possible hauntings I feel :) good video!
and im here! Yessss
and with that, he never went back into a lighthouse, be in in real life, or a fictional game world. thank you insym, pretty soon I won't be able to leave my house!
Insym: I'm on to you, game.
Game: HurRARHARHAGJGHJUGUUU!
Mechanically, I don't see how you could make a lighthouse work in phasmo... If the ghost is up and you're down (or vice versa) you're screwed.
What’s good
A game i would love to see you play is the game "Love, Sam".
oh god my heart
I cant feel my heart
this is terrifying
I agree this was a fantastic game. However I wish some of the sound elements were improved. Your profile reaction in the video thumbnails are getting more amusing to see 🤣
57:40 his face OMEGALUL
"No one's home."
*turns on the single biggest light in the area, to let them know no one's home*
Also I assume you saw in editing, but I think 11:57 is a seagull? Not sure what the fuck the rest of it was though, other than a very good spook.
What’s in the box?
It’s the ~moths~ put together, but would the community accept it that way?
very spooky game, I was terrified
Idea: the Bigfoot public lobby experience
Granny 3 just released, and I'd love to see you play it soon
Title: "No one lives under the lighthouse."
Me: "Does nobody really though?"
I loves moths lol, until this one is beyond the nightmare of horror stories and we can see what we feel like to play as one
Oh btw, on how to make a viable Lighthouse map for a ghost hunting game: A lot of lighthouses are also landlocked and have an entire house attached to it. I absolutely love how the game is louder than your voice😂
My favourite youtuber
Could you check out witch hunt? It's like yeti hunting but with more bosses and really scary atmospheric setting
I really enjoyed this Video. What an awesome game!
57:39 Jesus F*** christ i had a heart attack right there

Ok but what if, hear me out, someone DID live under the lighthouse
this game freaked me da hell out
Think this is only the 2nd game I have seen fully take on playing as 2nd person perspective!!!! The first being Driver San Francisco
The new granny 3 came out, you planning on playing it soon? It looks really good
btw 11:20, whats the worst that could happen? so belive me or not but by watching and only by watching this funny boi for almost a year I managed to chang my attidude towards dealing with problems irl. like I would never thought that by watching some1 playing phasmo and other horror games i would... grow ba.. hair on chest
HARK
Granny 3 PC is released btw
fancy
Hey, about that game obsideo, could you give me some info about it, like cost or release date?
This seems interesting
Oooh, this looks like Mi-Go
i'm sad this game doesn't suit me at all, only big jumpscare loud music don't really afraid me i won't qualify it as an horror game.

"Oh baby lets go deeper"
Why does the beach/lighthouse area literally look like the one from Steven universe
Play Cry of Fear. Its a free horror survival story game on Steam
This video in a nutshell: oh oh
Incredibly unique.
Now he needs to play It Steals :)
