I remember catching sight of that KFC while on a school excursion to Science Works in 1997. It looked quite new at the time and I think the tent was white. I was so fascinated by the design that tried to build a miniature out of balsa wood. Great video!
They never should've taken the boards off the windows and doors, it's basically destroyed now. And it's only a matter of time before someone burns it down...
When I was really young I remember passing the Westgate KFC a few times, I would always point it out for It's Unique 90's design and would always be fascinated by it. Sad to see It's turned to basically rubble nowadays.
I used to frequently go to Science Works as a kid in the 2000s and early 2010s and my mom often joked about going to that KFC hut! We often would have lunch back then at the KFC across the freeway from that one which was significantly bigger! :)
@@FogartyAvenue Thanks! I also remember the larger KFC there also had a dining area which somehow references the general design scheme of the game Portal 2! Probably because of them using metal ceiling panels that had a small holes vent design! :)
Thank you for doing this!! I often drive past here. Random memory! When I was about 4 years old my fathers old 4WD broke down here called RACV and I remember having the biggest headache. 🙈
The bin and toilet lid behind the door is actually a sanitary bin and lid for that. Impact Hygiene use small white foot pedle bins, you will find KFC use Impact Hygiene in most company stores.
Cool yeah my friend gave me a replica Fogarty Avenue sign from a actual street sign manufacturer. There's a photo on my Instagram you could do that if you wanted one.
Has anyone found the tunnel yet? The KFC's were built after the toll gates to the west gate bridge were removed which had an access tunnel underneath the freeway and that's why there was a full sized restaurant on one side and a mini on the other! You could also check with council to see what permits they are applying for, once it's trashed or burned it's easier to get new building permits or insurance

Yeah it's definitely a unique building. It's a shame that it's in such a state.

The Only Thing Missing is the Chicken :(
Exactly.
Curious if the tunnel rumours are true
I definitely want to investigate.
Looks like the servo already has a pie face closer to the servo 14:55
Yeah I know. Hence why it's a dumb idea.
Why did it close?
Not sure.
Les Great Video
@@rileycummaudo8612my guess is not enough customers it’s near a freeway normally people would prefer to continue their journey without stopping

Weird name for a YT channel, lol.
Fogarty Avenue is the name of the street the abandoned Bradmill textile factory is on in Yarraville in Victoria Australia.
Nice, it's my family name also. I'd love to have that sign in my pub! @@FogartyAvenue
