- Enjoy! Very interesting and GREAT footage for those who haven't seen this on the news back in the 80's. I archived this video many years ago and just found it this evening while thinking about it at the park today! I want to thank Mr. Roger Jourden and family for getting the amusement park started and Cedar Fair for expanding it over the years to come. We enjoy going to the park all
summer long. We can't wait for the next biggest attraction! (Courtesy of WZZM13.com Grand Rapids MI)

OMG... memories! I grew up going to this park when it was called Deer Park Funland, so this is awesome. I live in Florida now, so seeing old footage of the park is a treat (and... WZZM!).
Still channel 13 news too lol
I remember going there before and after loggers run. Always did the corkscrew as the last ride 😊
Me too. I was just there yesterday. It's still fun!
I got bit by one of those deer. Wasn't too long after that they got rid of the deer. 😢
I LOVED Deer Park and miss it. ❤
what year was this taken?
1983
I grew up with Deer Park and Pinery Park Little League went there a lot. Thanks for all the great memories.
It's always cool to see what my hometown looked like before I was born.
Roger's daughter, Camille Jourden-Mark (who you see running the train), still runs the park today which has since been renamed (of course) Michigan's Adventure.
The Jordan family sold Michigan's adventure to Cedar fair in 2000 or 2001 and the Jordan family is set for life.
At the beginning the video the lady you see at the start of the video is Ann Alward who was an anchor on on wzzm back during the 1980's I watched wzzm back in the 1980's when I lived in South west Michigan.
Watch out. At 2:40 the volume jumps up considerable and will blow your eardrums out, LOL.
That is not true any more that Deer Park funland/Michigan's adventure is famliy owned it is now owned by Cedar fair who also owns Cedar Point.
