Did you use the AA battery or phantom power when you had the mic connected to your interface?

Try taking the battery out and using phantom power, I think that it sounds better.

Tried that. Doesnyt work. I want a Rode NTG1, but im poor

I think that your mic might be faulty. I've got the same one as you but it works well on Phantom Power and sounds OK.

That's an NW 81, not 18.....
