If you have a 3.5 gpa, you’re gonna need a pretty wild story to convince admissions to admit you. If you don’t have a 4.0 but you have nice extracurriculars or talents, then they’ll admit someone with the same set of traits who DOES have the 4.0 instead.

As an international student what You study for your AP classes is what you study for your electives . So for example what you study In AP Biology is what you study in Your Elective biology
I am an international student too and I have no idea how AP classes work here in my country. In fact,I did not know what AP classes actually were before I started working for colleges. And today I stand here,wondering how can I apply to any such thing as AP class when I do not know where to go and what to do. There is no such class in my city;hence,I can certainly not apply for any AP class. I think metropolitican cities might have this facility of AP classes but of course,I am not going to any metropolitican city for these classes. Harvard should think of international students as well. Not every country or every state provide this facility of AP classes.

I do not have much information about the importance of these classes,but I recommend you not to lose hope. You may get selected without AP classes. Sometimes luck works too. Make sure your essay is near to perfect and you're passionate about what you do.

All of the people who are accepted into Ivy Leagues develop things called the “spike”. This is something that is not well rounded, like all of the other applicants, who are a total crapshoot. Develop achievements in the things you love. For example, if you’re into maths, you don’t have to be great in language, and take AP/Honors/IB courses in areas you like.
What I don't understand is if the exam of the university is Online or Face to Face, cause I want to enter Harvard. I think it's the GPA? Sorry if I don't know lots of things, I'm Mexican and in here people don't really teach how to go to such high level universities.
You take an exam called SAT in test centers. You have to pass a certain benchmark to catch these universities' attention. They also look at your GPA, SAT Subject Tests(which are specific tests on each subject) They also look through your extracurriculars and essays to define who you are, your personality. After that if you manage to pass that process in the eyes of the admission officers, you get to have an interview. That means your acceptance chance has increased. Also I'm Turkish, fellow soon-to-be international student here. Perhaps we can meet someday. (Hopefully in Harvard, but that goes without saying.) :)
