  • When we need a bag of flour or cornmeal, all we have to do is visit the closest market but, back in the early 1800’s it wasn’t so easy. Folks grew their own grain and took it to the local grist mill for grinding into these staples. Ken Wilshire visited the old Readyville Mill in Cannon county recently to see how one grist mill has been restored and the new owners are doing far more than grinding corn. I love the fresh feel of this historical place, and it's beautifully set in nature! Looks like they put a high value on quality ingredients too! That's the best!

It's a shame that the Readyville Mill is now gone due to the tornado from April 2023 ripping through. But thankfully, Goodness Gracious is still in operation. This time, it's in Murfreesboro.
