    Thank you for bringing light to the Eritrean struggle of migrants in search of better living. This is not far from the Ethiopian diaspora struggle. Unfortunately it is sad you have been thought to believe that we are enemies. This is the legacy of imperialism. I pray that all African nations will gain a caring leader in the future, unlike the past and present in most situations.

    To be honest, I have been to Eritrea twice as a researcher. it is true the government is tough, but all and all, Free education, Free health care for all and equall right was the things took me by surprise in Eritrea.
    I would advise everyone to visit the country before hand and make your mind. I think there is a misunderstanding between US and the Eritrean government. It is just politics.

      My friends have been imprisoned in Eritrea for over 20 years just for their religious beliefs. I don't think their is a misunderstanding, Eritrea is understood. Its similar to Stalin's type of rulership.

    What would be good for eritrea is to go back into ethiopia. Ethiopia has a huge potential. A large population and dedicated people. If Eritrea unifies with Ethiopia, they will benefit from this and Ethiopia will benefit from the coastline. The people of tigray and the eritrean are virtually identical in a lot of ways. Unification with Ethiopia is the future for the country

    Merone.. well-done in articulating the true view and what every Eritrean think except few in denial or afraid to say the truth..saying that you did not get to the core of the problem. The foundation of all the suffering is that Eritrean independence was wrong and all the blood shaded was wasted for nothing sadly, until people see this and admit a costly mistake were made the suffering and misery will continue until Eritrea and Eritreans disappear from the face of the earth as a nation or collective identity just like European Gypsy. the only solution is to live as a UNITED BY CHOICE AND EQUAL integration with Ethiopia, until both peoples wake up and smell the coffee there will be no peace or stability on both country.

    Last time I checked, every developing country has this issue. In fact, when we compare Eritrea with other 3rd world countries, the number of Eritreans who are leaving their country is far less than those leaving other 3rd world countries, yet no one mentions this fact. So why not treat migration as a developing country/economy issue instead of pretending it has to do with a lack of democracy in Eritrea?
    She's lying through her teeth. I wonder what could cause you to sell your soul like this if she's even Eritrean at all. Ask many diaspora Eritreans and they will tell you the exact opposite.
    Better yet go visit Eritrea yourself.

    • @kiliawta
      @kiliawta 9 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hehe you are telling her to go visite Eritrea to see it for herself, lol. She got nothing to do with Eritrea

    • @chatman2a
      @chatman2a 8 ปีที่แล้ว

      +daniel gebru If Meron is "lying through her teeth" about the tens of thousands of Eritreans who are fleeing the country monthly, then please inform us of the REAL reason that so many are fleeing. Why are so many risking torture, kidnapping, rape, torture? Oh, I see. By your reasoning, the masses are fleeing Eritrea so that they can help to develop the country and economy. Take a moment to realize how RIDICULOUS your argument is.

    Media must be public and open for all sectors of society. Our media is not free either, because it is owned by few people. A genuine free media belongs to all people and is open for all, not just for those who are in power or those with money.

    • @strikerleaderable
      @strikerleaderable 10 ปีที่แล้ว

      Seriously! You call yourself Revolutionary Socialist Media. People such as yourself have been the death and creeping moral decay of all nations that came under the occupation and slavery of people of your ilk. It was bad enough that Eritreans, in the liberated as well as occupied areas during the Independence War, had to deal with your atrocious atheistic spiritually and morally hollow ideologies that traitor Eritreans within the nationalist movement almost destroyed it because of your perfidious perniciousness in advocation your anti-patriotic nation destroying internationalism until Issayas put your ideologues to dust during the manqua purges.

    Meron, Ethiopia colonized Eritrea!! Really I never understood this. When Eritrea was part of Ethiopia Eritrean had a better opportunity than native Ethiopian. Eritrean were more advanced than the rest of Ethiopian. If you had said Italian colonized Eritrea, I would have agreed with you. Because Italian didn't allow Eritrean to get education beyond 4th grade.

    • @strikerleaderable
      @strikerleaderable 10 ปีที่แล้ว

      Eritreans are mostly Tigrinya and Tigre along with other tribes that live in comradeship with the aforementioned tribes. Ethiopians are in this order. Oromos, Amharas, Ogaden Somalis, Tigray-Tigrinya (our cross border ethnic brethren) and an assortment of other Cushtic tribes that are too different from the people of Mereb Mellash and even the Tigreans. It would be irrational and chaotic for you Amharas to suggest that Eritreans and Amhara-Oromo as well as Amharized Ethiopians to live in one country even if you have good intentions because they are two very different sets of people. It is best to live separately and ideally peacefully even two there might be conflicts between those peoples from time to time. I do not discount the possibility of instances were Eritreans and Amhara-Oromo Ethiopians might be allies. Albeit, that would only happen if Sudan's or a reunited Somalia's leaders have imperial dreams of megalomania and the desire to acquire more territory. In conclusion, separation in the racial and cultural sense between an Amhara-Oromo Ethiopia and Eritrea is law of nature and cannot be unmade unless if you want the blood sacrifice and ensuing chaos.
