Since some people here seem to have a 4" thick skull, I had no dealings with Ubisoft for this video. The sponsor was NZXT who also has no connection with Ubisoft.
I felt I made that pretty clear but then again I didn't write it in crayon so maybe it missed the mark.
People are just upset you didn’t bury the game 6 feet deep like other channels have. How dare you not align with the sheep Jay!! Great video as always. Hope I run into you at the Tustin store sometime.
😂😂😂
I find anything hard to understand that isn’t in neon purple from Crayola.
if you add "-unlockmaxsettings" as a start parameter in the Ubisoft launcher you get a HIDDEN GRAPHICS PRESET CALLED "OUTLAW" that (obviously) max'es out the graphics settings......
too bad I only have a 6650XT and not a 4090 because I would LOVE to see this!!! So being that you HAVE a 4090 I hope you read thi8s, and TRY IT OUT!!! :D

I saw it in the theatre at the age of 12 in 1977. Han shot. Greedo died. There was no 'first'. There was only one shot.

Han not only shot first, he was the only one to shoot. George Lucas changed it like 3 times every time he released a new version. But in the 1977 theatrical release...he just plain murdered him and Greedo never even pulled the trigger.
As he should have. Greedo was a punk
How can you murder someone that's holding you at gunpoint? They're threatening you with lethal force. Han was perfectly justified in shooting him.
Han... shot.... first !

Same. I imagine I'd have no problem running this in ultrawide with a 12700k/3080.

So as an OG Star Wars fan myself, I'm super triggered by all the "Wukong" comments lol....
In all seriousness I really couldn't care less what games people are in to, we showed the performance between 6 different GPUs and y'all can do with that info whatever you want.
As for Wukong, I haven't tested the game "yet" but that doesn't mean it won't happen.
Serious question.... why are gamers so whiny?
Because they have nothing else going on in their lives
I think people are tired of these companies putting out mediocre and unfinished games that are anti consumer
because they are sick of being served slop that costs more and gives less while expected to smile for the "experience"
Gamers are a terminally online bunch. I don't give a toss about Black Myth Wukong.
I feel like gamers have alway been whiny and vocal.
I honestly can imagine a promo for this game on your channel Phil popping it head around the door jam saying "Jay... Jay... Jaaaaaaayyyyy..." and then cutting to the scene where Darth Vader's chamber opens and a distorted, crackly and heavily breathed Jay replying with "Whhhhaaat?!" before Phil says "We go work to do" followed by Nick adding "Yeah"
Yes, with Jay As Darth Helmet. 🤣
Start of the video "this game requires RT and will suck on older hardware, may be one of the first titles to force a hardware upgrade"
End of the video "this game does very well on low end hardware, not one of those titles that will make people run out and upgrade"
Yeah, because it actually surprised us... but about that artifacting....
Sad to see, even on the best benchmark components you had
Lol the sponsorship money is hard at work here...
It was a sponsored video but not by Ubisoft. And he was fairly critical of all the artifacting he was getting in game even on high-end cards, you usually don't see that in sponsored content. I was just confused by the change in perspective. Perhaps it's just cause I know many people that still have 10 series cards that I still consider them part of the low end, but it is 3 gens old, maybe that's just too outdated of me and "low end" now is at least 20 series with RT cores, and the 10 series are now whatever below "low end" is.
@@Jayztwocents I don't get those artifacts. First time seeing it. I run msi 4090, 7950x3d, 64gb ram and have secret settings at max in 4k. dlss performance with frame gen on. path tracing to max as well. Is Concord up next? 😂
Concord has uninstalled itself

Yo, not like this lol
Concord has been pulled and those who bought it were to be issued refunds.
the rtx requirement is one of the dumbest things ive heard being required for a game. like i dont really care about the game but it sets a horrible president for future games if someone cant afford hardware that can play it, like the last time i got angry about a hardware limitation was when 3.5 mm headphone jacks were removed from phones.
I kinda makes sense though. RT has been a feature on cards for years, so cards that are completely incapable of doing it are kinda dying out slowly but surely.
It also makes development easier, saves time and thus money for the studios while (mostly) looking better IF the hardware can support it.
Hate it all you want, it's the future of gaming at this point.
@@Kr0noZ my question then is mobile chips like zen 4 chips for AMD and Intel xe chips, will those be supported? I don't think they have rt on them and those are being used for mobile gaming, if rt is required it's going to really affect the mobile market
Greedo never used his weapon. han killed him BEFORE it could happen because han distracted him by talking to hum :
- Han : "Yeah... i bet you have"
BANG!
I've been playing it since the 27th and I'm absolutely loving it. I'm using a Ryzen 5800X and an RX7600, it's running at medium settings due to a crash that would happen consistently when run at high, but I've had little or no artifacting and have FSR on.
DigitalFoundry found that on 4K max settings with DLSS performance enabled (1080p rendering) a 4090 can't push 60 fps.
A 4090 can't handle 1080p max settings. Bravo, Ubisoft.
That's pretty wild.
**Shivers in 7900xt**
If the top card can’t do that then it’s the developers fault 🤷🏻♂️
Ubisoft is terrible at PC optimization.
Mean while black myth on unreal 5
@@BobBobson the game scales and offers a huge variety of settings options; just because a game CAN overwhelm current HW does not make it badly optimized! Seriously, how are we ever going to get better looking games if everyone cries whenever something is released that pushes for graphical realism/dynamism! You want a game that looks ray traced but runs quickly then say hello to baked lighting and worlds that are static AF. I’m going to play this game now and push the realism to max in 4 years when I replay with a new GPU, that is pretty awesome!
There is ABSOLUTELY no reason for any game, new, old or otherwise to be artefacting that badly. We shouldn't have to wait for a day 1 patch (or worse a patch months after release), to fix the most obvious bugs that should have been detected prior to launch.
Clever single shadow from a planet with two suns….
That's what it looks like in the films, my dude
The fact that Star Wars Outlaws forces you to use RT is the biggest “fuck you” to anyone on an older GPU.
This has to be the first ever game without an option for rasterization.
Ubisoft is really reaching new and incredible levels of greed and stupidity.
Avatar Frontiers of Pandora also has forced RT. It is also Ubisoft game, it works on the same engine and it is also really demanding. The only reason they forced RT is because it is faster and cheaper to develop game this way without needing to bake in any of the shaders, and this is Ubisoft we are talking about so of course they have to make their full-priced half-developed games as cheap and fast as possible.
Not really, it's software RT meaning it doesn't use RT cores so it runs any all GPUs .... Only RTXDI and Ray Reconstruction uses the RT and Tensor cores
@@longjohn526 its still a "Fuck you!" to old gpus. do you remember the 1080ti raytracing benchmarks? its slower than even the 66watt 3050-6gb.
Going on 4 generations of video cards with RT and 4 is about the limit before a required upgrade unless you just play older titles which is just fine, been that way since 400 series. No one should still be trying new titles on 10 series cards only because the technology has jumped to the point you are working that 3x's harder than it was intended just to keep up at 1440p. 4th gen back is nostalgic but right at the cut off point.
If it's not Ubisoft, it would eventually be someone else. Just look at Microsoft with the Windows 11 with the TPM hardware thingy.
Soon or later these companies will force you to upgrade or leave you behind. That is the reality of things.
Of course, there's work around if you want to take the longer or difficult route. Which most common consumers wouldn't do in my eyes. It can suck either way.
Wukong comes out, breaks every record known to man: Skips
Terrible Ubisoft copy & paste game comes out: HOW MUCH GPU DO YOU NEED for this 2014 lookin ahh game

@@TheCocomunges Open world games are overrated. It's rarely well done, often just too much empty space. Skyrim, witch 3 and Elden Ring.
Doesn't that game need a 4090 to play it without upscaling at a comfortable framerate? That doesnt exactly scream optimization.
Last game i've played from ubisoft was AC Black Flag when this company was actually good but i believe all Ubisoft games nowadays is "Clear the Outpost and capture the communication tower", please say if i am right.
There's a very good reason why Han killed greedo... it's about his character at that point... and over the course of the movie/trilogy... it shows how he grows, changes and becomes a better person.
Honestly one of the worst things about the internet is games releasing with bugs & most larger developers are just "oh yeah we didn't have time to sort before release, we'll patch it soon"
Worse than that are the apologists who crop up and insult you for noticing something's broken and gaslighting you into believing you're the issue.
Hi Jay!!!

Should guarantee you have an RT capable card by then aswell so win win.
...you do realize all of the current gen consoles have hardware RT support, right?
Listen, I loved my 1070, but sometimes ya gotta know when to move on.
Ray tracing is required because that's how the lighting is done and its how all games will be done going forward.
That's why I bought the infamous nvidia cards... ya move with the tech, not the other way around.
Raytracing is not Nvidia only.
About the artefacts and visual bugs, could really be because this game is meant to be played with the cinematic aspect ratio, saw a Daniel Owen video just few days ago, where he explains it and shows show just switching from the meant cinematic ratio to the "commom" one drops your fps like crazy, also shows you a lot less of the environment on the screen, give it a try to see if it makes any difference at all
This video is more interesting then the game, which is why I'm not touching it. Tired of being ubishafted.

@@TheMortician the question is on the same level as asking what the best gpu is for concord
@@TheMortician Money better spent on a big ass burger and a gallon of pink lemonade.
Thank you so much! My 4080 super was only getting 80-90 fps in 1440p. After changing the settings its up in the 120-150 range. I feel much better now!!!
Han was the only one who shot!!!
Its crazy that 2024 AAA games look worse than 2014 AAA games. NPCs from 2014 are smarter than Ai NPCs in 2024.
Dude, Final Fantasy 13, a game from 2009 for the PS3, looks better than this crap. Hell, the PC port of FF13 looks like it was released within the past few years.
I am so sick and tired of people talking trash about Star Wars and Ubisoft. Feels like when those two come together all the cave trolls meet up and lick their butts while moaning stuff like "dIsneY aM i riGHt" or "kAy veSs nOt HoT enOugH to jeRk my sMaLL pP wTf ubISoFt tRasH".
Thank you for the analysis Jay and thank you for not being one of those guys. I'm having an awesome time playing this game and I can finally say that I am excited about the story which I wasn't for a long time. I always liked the worlds Ubisoft built but I wasn't invested in the characters. Thank god that has changed with Outlaws.
I really hope they'll fix the artifacts and the wonky camera movement when using the landspeeder though. Oh and maaaybe they'll even add FSR 3.1 (please). Otherwise I have 0 complaints.
PS: You gotta see the jungles of Akiva! Breathtaking.
Zero as I wouldn't be caught dead playing this unfinished garbage
It’s really fun. I’ve got 40 hours and haven’t had any bugs or crashes. Definitely worth trying for 17$ on Ubisoft plus.
@@solidghost4525good for you, but I happen to have standards.
@@slckb0y65 I do to. It’s a solid 10/10. If you’re not a starwars fan I could see it being an 8.
@@solidghost4525 ROFL !!!
Han shot first? Han was the only one to shoot! Still completely justified.
Im just glad to have the content to watch while I do some chores. Thank you for the vid! ……Regardless of Disney/star wars sucking hard.
:(
I guess we can say "Why is J2C so whiny?" every time he criticises anything now.
The Wokies (NOT Wookiees) have killed Star Wars.
" im a little bit of a dork..." Jay... we knew this, that's why were here and like the passion you have
Whoa!!! Personally, I'm getting tired of PC content creators showing off top end computers. Maybe doing research to find out what most people are using for gaming.
Did you even watch where we tested much lower end cards or did you just bunch up your panties and immediately complain?
@@Jayztwocents lol, thanks for the response.
I think there is a "universal truth" that all channels should take to heart. If you engage in polarizing topic, be prepared for a certain amount of backlash. Right now, we have tons of people that actively hate AAA scene, hate Ubisoft, hate Star Wars. No matter how great of a job will Jay do, there will be substantial amount of negativity around this video.
If I received a proposition to benchmark some hardware against a specific title, or to have a look at said title and record a material on it, I'd look up first if this is not a title making fuss around the internet. IMHO, no need to expose yourself to negativity cause of one title that people may actively hate on at the time.
Went from the worst game studio to the second worst game studio
A quik note on your forced RT
incase you didnt know
All UE5 games that use the lumen lighting also force RT
this is becaise Lumen uses RT to even work also why a lot of UE5 projects run poorly on oder systems
Sadly most people dont know this is haopening for a longer time then now with outlaws
may as well have uploaded a Concord benchmark lol.
Can't. That game's already been taken off the market and severs are being shut down Friday! YAYYYYY 😂😂😂
the whole who shot first gets even more complicated because it's different in like 4 different versions of the film.
