Trevor Phillips radiates integrity and stature in this documentary. He has a great passion for tackling racial injustice but isn't blinded to his own past policy mistakes, is seeking improvement and listening to feedback not blocking it out. The school principal at the end was outstanding and it's good to see preferential policies based on ethnic cohort can be useful if adaptable to needs and equally applied to all cohorts as needed regardless of background. The only problem with this approach is that it's top-down and relies on placing discriminatory authority in government bodies that have a poor record in correcting course (see, grooming gangs), nor does this address the problem of high levels of immigration. I hope Phillips gets traction, where he is coming from with his conversation is the right start.

The people who have discredited him are the ones who think all black people think the same and can be categorised by using the lazy term BAME to describe a diverse group of people. He is just one example of the diverse views that are out there and hopefully we will hear more of.
@@chrislaing8444 Your sophistry does not disguise the fact that he is discredited. You imply generalisations which of course never exist in totality. The point is that he has chosen to blame his own community for the racism it suffers. I don’t disagree with everything he says, such as people with white skins shouldn’t feel obliged to go round apologising all the time. But again, that’s just a statement about something which doesn’t, in practice, happen. I’m not apologising for past crimes for example. I can only decide not to commit any myself. He’s a clever charlatan who has found a niche popular with those who are ambiguous about opposing racism and I guess he’s decided that’s a way to make a living. Just an establishment servant, basically.
@@stevelangridge1755 If you think he represents the establishment you really haven't been paying attention. Also, what's the black 'community'. There are 2.3 million black people in Britain from a variety of backgrounds. You think they should all share the same beliefs?

Yes I agree, somehow people have managed to ignore that the white working class live in the poorest areas.

As just an average person I found this interview very interesting and honest. Thank you.
The irony of saying 'stop apologising for being white', while in the same breath using the nonsense term "people of colour" (Newspeak for 'everyone except whites').
White and black are tones, not colours according to my old school art teacher. I am pink and my wife is a light yellow so I guess we are 'people of colour'.
Everyone can see their intentions, enjoyed G. Floyd situation to the max, any movement using colour is racist

Critical race theory is nonsense however it seems to have massive traction everywhere and that's what makes it so dangerous
Because like all marxist ideology, it appeals to the lowest common denominator
Thank goodness for you Andrew and Trevor.. we do need voices to represent how the silent majority truly feels!
I literally love this man and always have. He's literally my hero. From my part of London, smart, intelligent, composed and an all round great guy ❤️

What a fabulous interview. I whole heartedly agree as I grew up mixed race in York... a very white city where I was chased home every day by a racist bully. The footage of the time he was arrested last year is fascinating: th-cam.com/video/oEc3TKTI4yI/w-d-xo.html . He goes through the same routine: not obeying the simple command to show both hands, repeatedly saying "don't shoot me". The police had to threaten him with tazers to stop him swallowing drugs. Then once he is hand-cuffed he keeps wimpering "mama". It's obviously an act he had for distracting the police while hiding or disposing of drugs.
