Working in the woods... You really need a ROPS on that machine. A friend's cousin got killed when a tree he was pushing slipped up over the bucket, sprung back, and took his head off.
You struck gold with that old dawg! I have come across a lot of these, JD and IH also and all were so beat down they couldn’t do this kind of work anymore! Fun to watch for sure. I have an 86 Ford 655A backhoe and I’m keeping it until I’m gone. Great vids and thanks for sharing!
Thanks for the kind words! This was the second tool I rebuilt after the jd tractor. It is worth its weight in gold for sure. My 555 was next with a fresh short block. Welcome to Man Time!
Kinda upset why I am barely coming across your channel. Have a 95 John Deere 455g and the sound and power of those old irons just thrills me. Keep up the good work……SUBSCRIBED.
Yes that would be best, but I can't see my bucket teeth depth. I tell myself the same thing when I watch myself operating the machine. I like to see the teeth in relation to the ground
Hope your neck don't get sore from leaning out to see the bucket drive by the seat of your pants hopefully you will learn to carry grade by looking ahead and feel of the machine...I take it to be a1968 to 1972 machine we had a 68 one of the first ones out sn 80h480 then we bought a new one in 1973 it had rops mounting brackets welded to frame.also open the throttle wide open its designed to operate that way so the converter does not stall

Always wanted to do it but something else always takes priority. Thanks for your concern. Seriously
Man I love man time. Nothin makes me more happy than seeing them trees come down.
Glad you found my channel man!
@@Man-Time I am too man. I really love the heavy equipment and chainsaw videos

Welcome to Man Time!
@@Man-Time very therapeutic as well informative as far as how to manage and use dirt. Wanna start using a nice mound in our woods to use as dirt.
@@Man-Time keep the vids coming!
Do your bucket tilt forward when it's under pressure if it's extended outward some...I have a cat 931

Wanted to ask you what the weight is on that?..been browsing the adds, 😆
Around 12t or 24k lbs. A mid weight machine
@@Man-Time thanks, good to know. At least it gives me an idea. Have my eye on a possible Allis-Chalmers HD 5 shovel dozer, but we'll see.
Just make sure you can get parts. That’s the worst when you realize you can’t even get a new air filter or exhaust manifold or whatever

You are going at that tree all wrong, raise the bucket and spin it never lift from the bottom it can fall on you
Zero percent chance I’m working with no ROPS
I feel like Chuck Norris would be the ROPS
I find myself constantly yelling at the screen. I can't watch anymore!!
Yah, pushing those trees/brush with no cage. Living on borrowed time.
