I’m using the small Motion Pro bead breakers. Works great and packs well.

I have the Vevor version of the Baja No Pinch. Has multiple axle size adaptors and made of good steel. For less than 1/5th the price Ive have had it over a yr and gave 69 bucks for it. It works great. Otherwise I use the long motion pro bars to remove. Then the zip tie method to re install with no pinching. With the tires I am running now I can use the zip ties and put tires on my KLR with no other tools. Its harder but can be done. My 7yr old granddaughter has put mine on with the vevor no pinch knockoff when she insisted on helping me

I'm not at all certain that the rabaconda is worth the admission price, but the issues you guys had were caused by incorrect technique. I've seen one in action and it works.

I got the biggest beefiest Motion Pro tire spoons I could get (as seen in this video) for home use only, because my bike has tubeless tires and I'm almost always going to jab in a plug and go. If I get a sidewall tear, that's why God invented duct tape (not highway speed rated). Beware of short tool roll tire levers in combination with stiff sidewall tires from Dunlop or Tusk.
14:30 - It's a duck head. That Rabaconda tire changer looks pretty sweet in the demo videos I've seen but like my taxes, tire changing is something that I do so infrequently that it's guaranteed to be a frustrating hassle, and two guys mucking around outside while making a video is guaranteed to invite all the gremlins over for a Mongolian clusterfuck party, so I can't blame Josh or the Rabaconda. I'd like to make tire changing easier but I'm not convinced the Rabaconda ($685 on Amazon) would be worth it for a couple of tires a year. It'd probably be great for a motorcycle club or an independent small time motorcycle mechanic who changes a tire a week and can maintain familiarity with the equipment. AI robots are going to become a reality for the things nobody wants to do themselves - sex, cleaning toilets and changing motorcycle tires.
Harbor Fright has a motorcycle tire changer that is generally regarded as a bit better than doing the job with tire spoons, mostly because it gets the tire off the ground a bit and has a bead breaker for 16"-21" tires but it's apparently better mounted to a workbench to avoid bending over to do the work. The tire changer is a large tool that takes yup a lot more space than tire irons the 99.996% of the time it's not being used. Harbor Fright also has a $45 motorcycle tire balancer but I'm designing and 3D printing my own that stores in a much smaller space.
Motorcycle Travel Channel had a video a few months ago where Sterling spent most of a day trying to change the rear tire on a Trail 125 in the desert. We've all had days like that where nothing works. I think he had the tire on and off six times, pinching the spare tube, then multiple attempts at patching the tube. Made me very happy to have tubeless tires. If I bought a bike with tube tires, I'd convert the rim to tubeless at the first tire change.
Looking forward to your Kemimoto roll top pannier review. Josh's Nelson Rigg roll top panniers looked pretty good too. Whatever you choose, ensure that everything stays attached to your bike while in motion.

With the some practice, the Rabaconda is brilliant. Perhaps watch their instructional videos to help learn the process. I have one, and my buddies all beg to use it now. It's rare that it takes more than 5 minutes to dismount and mount a new tire. And I'm talking about heavy duty ADV tires, not street tires. That said, you do have to get the hang of it. A warm tire and good lubricant still make a huge difference with ease of dismount and mounting. I'll admit however, I did have some trouble recently dismounting a Dunlop Trailmax Mission with 16,000 miles on it.

Hey Don. Great vid as always. I’m looking for a less busy (and less expensive ie not Florida) snowbird destination for me and my motorhome. Not sure where in Alabama you are located but would you recommend the area? I don’t need Florida weather - just keep me above freezing at night. And I will ride any temp above the 30s in the daytime if the sun is shining. Take care.

Southern Arizona would be my goto spot - let me help? I have a playlist in my skoolie - but Quartzite and south is very moderate and amazing in winter th-cam.com/video/z7PqfBFAxG0/w-d-xo.html

@ thanks for the reply. I’ve spent 2 winters in southern AZ and love it but it’s just too far away (I live in southern Ontario Canada) so was looking at south GA or AL as a closer if not quite as temperate alternative. I’ve watched your bus series - awesome travels. Can’t wait for you to get back on the road so I can ride along vicariously.

@@waynemccurdy3899 both should be milder weather, and the closer you get to the gulf, the warmer it gets...but it still gets nippy in winter. You should be OK in an RV

How much for the motion pro bead breaker set? I change all my tires and have a modified bead breaker for the shop but nothing i can pack in my saddle bags besides my tire spoons. I think my bead breaker was like $40 at harbor freight plus i have a motorcycle tire balancer for like $30 from harbor freight also and both work well. Using tire spoons on bike tires is almost a lost art form it seems now days. Most of the time tube tires are easy for me the tubeless mags are the ones i need to use a bead breaker on, but i can do them with just spoons but its a bitch. Glad you made the video every rider should have these skills i think.

Great video. Not sure about the tire changing machine. $600 ouch. Loved the alcohol tip. Have always used soapy water. I have three spoons that I carry, but don't have the axle removal tool. Gotta pick one up. Are they available on Amazon?

In lieu of center stand I lay the Harley on it's side. And yeh swap the stuff if you get a new bike. MoCo's cheapen stuff up every year to save money.
That tire changing piece is called a "duck head". Hold it sideways and it looks like a duck. I use the HarFreight changer. Sure it's not portable, but meh.
    th-cam.com/video/_ODocXwHasY/w-d-xo.html
Having the tire situated in the Duck head correctly is key. Also, the tire needs to be positioned in the concave of the rim. Use lube. That duck will slide the tire right off/on.
Got those MP tools and balancer. Great stuff. Careful you don't scratch those chrome rims.
