      @@JustPlainCommonSense I had a cheap della washer it worked well untill it started leaking i would squeeze the hose all the way down and break it loose if the blockage isnt inside the machine that worked for me. I had to bite the bullet and buy a panda portable washer its made mostly of metal and not plastic and seems much better built.

      I have this same washer but branded under a different name. If your drain hose is clogged you actually don’t need to go underneath the machine. On the back of the machine there is a panel that is held on by 2 or 3 screws. Take the screws out and carefully remove the panel this will give you access to the internals allowing you to see the drain hose, the bottom of the tub, the tub to pump hose, the water pump, etc. You can then determine what the issue is most likely fix it. I had a leak and removed the panel and then ran a test load to find the source of the leak, which turned out was a small hole in the tub to pump hose that was caused by a wire that touches the hose and wore a hole in it over time when the machine agitates. Because these are made in China and not by a major appliance company it’s nearly impossible to find specific replacement parts (tub to pump hoses come in lots of sizes shapes you name it) so I had to do a creative repair using silicone sealant which worked. The drain hose itself is a standard size and if needed can easily be removed and reused after it to cleared or you can find dozens of replacement drain hose options on Amazon.

    I picked up this machine at a thrift store still had the original tape, etc. new for $35 the only thing was the manual was missing, so I was apparently using normal cycle, extremely effective, works great hooked up to laundry sink being used as kitchen sink. Thanks for posting this video now I know how change the cycles. M

    This washer is coming up on being 3 years old without any problems. I use it at least 8 times a week, sometimes way more than that. It isn’t just sitting there idle at all! I highly recommend it.
    Comments like the one from Dr Strangelove about this washer being crap because it doesn’t even have a water heater are ridiculous. I’ve never seen a washing machine with an on- board water heater.

    I'm on the hunt for a portable washing machine. Despite having a house with water hookups, I have been going to the laundromat for 20 years but now caring for a terminally ill husband I don't have the time. I narrowed it down to either this model or the equivalent specs Panda model. I actually have water hookups and drain in basement for this, but due to very narrow stairway to get to basement, I need to go with something at least 21" or less on at least one side to get it down the stairs and no more than 51 lbs (this and Panda model fit that). I do not plan on using it for my kitchen sink or second floor bathroom faucet as I do not trust the plumbing on those (we have an old house and clogging issues in both sinks). Our water hookups in our basement are very old but work well as does the drain down there. My concern and hesitancy with buying either one of these models is how to make the hose and adaptor fit those hookups. I am very new to portable washers. If this hose/adaptor does not fit, are there other hoses and/or adaptors that would accommodate both the washing machine and my hookups? My hookups have wide threaded mouths on them and are metal/iron material. Would a hardware store person be able to help me figure this out before I purchase the model? Do you have more specific info about the adaptor/inlet hose? The panda on Amazon seems to have more info in this regard than Amazon for this model, but I am really leaning toward this model. I just need more info about the adaptor and inlet hose. Thank you!

    Loved the video! I agree the fastest way is the quick wash. Only one rinse cycle. The rinse cycle could be longer tho. Does this one have a "mix detergent" cycle, I'm sure it does. I have the OK VAC portable fully automatic and I stumbled on that setting. If i I hit the power button and hit the start while it's just two lines,(digital) it will agitate for ten seconds mixing the detergent in the water. I let the water just cover the raised parts of the agitator then I press the power button and quickly press the start button once. Does yours do this as well? This wasnt in the manual I just stumbled on it one day trying to see if it had just a rinse cycle somehow. For mine I dont like how it will do two or three very short rinse cycles causing me to use more water instead of one rinse cycle of about 5 minutes. If I do the gentle cycle I will not do the second rinse. I pause it and reset it to the spin cycle then the air dry cycle that can be set up to 90 minutes. Our machines seems to work similarly, so does yours have a separate rinse cycle?

      I have used a common household cleaner like formula 409 on the inside of the tub before. Tide makes a washer cleaner for use on these newer front loading washers. I suppose it would work on a top loader as well.

      Kelly Snow I have an identical washer except it is from Zeny not Giantex ( they are absolutely identical and must both be made in the same factory and just stamped with different brand names). But the way I have cleaned mine is by running a wash load without anything in it ( no laundry) and I add bleach and some baking soda and just let it run, drain, and go through the rinse cycles. This cleans mine pretty well and also helps ensure I don’t have mold and mildew issues either.

    Thanks for the video!... Got my eye on this machine but there is very little info on the power consumption. I am currently working on a self build motorhome and plan to be off grid. I'm going to have a serious amount of solar a hefty power bank and inverter but i need to know how much power this thing draws before I go ahead. Id like to know the wattage of the machine during wash and spin. Is this something you could clarify?

      Is it in Program 1,2,3,4,5 or 6? If so, then it should run through the entire cycle. Otherwise, is the lid shut? An open lid will likely cause that problem. It will not spin with it open.

    How do you fully dry the clothes? Do you hang them up? Do I need to get a separate dryer. I have them on the air dry setting going for about an hour but I’m half way through and most of them are still damp.

      I have a two clothes lines running across the living room and a dehumidifier running 24/7. It only takes a few hours for jeans to line dry. I can actually wear jeans in about 4 hours.

    Hey! I just wanted to ask, do you know when/how softener should be applied? I know that there is a hole, but the instructions are in broken English and I couldn't really understand. It says to turn the drum, but as far as I'm concerned, it can't be turned freely (when it's off at least). If I am missing something please tell me. Thanks!

    • @JustPlainCommonSense

      I think you pour it into the softener hole at the beginning. It isn’t going to be released into the drum until it spins.

    Can the drain hose be swapped out to a longer one?

    • @JustPlainCommonSense
      @JustPlainCommonSense  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      I imagine so. You just have to maintain the minimum/maximum height. Too low and the tub can't hold water. Too high and the pump can't drain water out of the tub.

  • @bc1248
    @bc1248 4 ปีที่แล้ว

    Can it be filled manually?

    • @JustPlainCommonSense
      @JustPlainCommonSense  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      I'm sure it "can" but it would not be very practical. The sensors call for water throughout the wash/rinse/rinse cycles. Having to manually fill the tub every time the washer stops would not only be a pain but you would be guessing as to why the washer is actually stopped. It just doesn't make sense to fill it manually.

    Hey ! Thank you for your video ! I just bought the same machine and I like it but I have a problem ! The inner tub (the part with softener dispenser) is not spinning during wash cycle (it works only during spin cycle) like in your video, only the pulsator inside is spinning. I don’t understand why, is it a problem ? Maybe you have some solution for that. Thank you very much ! 😊

    • @JustPlainCommonSense
      @JustPlainCommonSense  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      It isn't supposed to spin. The water is moved around during the wash cycle by the agitator in the bottom of the tub. Spinning is just to sling the water out of the clothes. Enjoy it!
