I hope that you know you can adjust Linguatronic Voice comands via Voice Control Individualization procedure in System Settings. It is designed exactly for such accents issues.
Loved the review, the accent mis understanding was hilarious.
I'm with James May on Mercedes - they're a bit showy and vulgar. I've tried one of these voice systems and it doesn't much like my Mancunian accent, either. But it will be a very nice place to sit in when it breaks down and waiting for the tow truck. 10/10 for Sinead; 6/10 for the car.

Those "mini usb" ports are not mini usb (which went away 10 years ago), but usb-C, which you pointed out is what everything is going to. I would LOVE a car with built in usb-C on it, instead of all the 12v power plug adaptors in all of my cars! I hope other manufactures start doing this right away.
The Diesel one is the best by far, I bought a A180 Sport Diesel Automatic 182 Reg with 10,000 Miles in the UK last Week for 16,999 Pounds paid the VRT and the total price was 23,000 Euros super deal, the best way to go is but from The Car Shop they are outstanding so there you are what a rip off here in Ireland

Voice didnt work because u havent got the mercedes Me activated. 1:10 u can see it even says in the screen, Online Service currently unavailable. Please check your Mercedes me settings. U need to go mercedes benz and prove to them that ur the owner and then they will activate it for you.
You do have posh Dublin accent, no pun intended :)

Let’s be honest but your accent is very strong especially keyR (car) that’s not your fault but the AI in this keyR. It’s a rather nice looking car but very expensive for what you get, personally speaking the new saloon version of this A class is much better looking. Can’t wait until it comes up to Norn Ironland, nobody will be able to get it started let alone put the radio on
Just ordered my A200 AMG today - hoping it understands a Scottish accent better than a Irish one lol :)
Haha mine is being delivered to the showroom on the 8th of May and I to am hoping it understands my Geordie accent, we are more Scots than English up these parts so I imagine if it works for you it will work for me, please update here if all is fine and enjoy your new Benz pal

Don't think Mercedes knows what 'pup' music is. You will have to compromise your beautiful accent and talk exactly like she does to get her to understand. Hopefully, one day, cars will 'learn' their owner's accent properly - just as speach recognition software packages already do. They'll make it optional though heheh.

Instead of a three letter word, which most entertainment systems have issues with, try "popular" music or "top40" instead of 'pop' _(or just ask for real music instead)_ , I've used it and it works like a charm from day one.
Yes, this car is my all time favourite, but at back-seats the head rest is very narrow, leg space is OK. Disagree on your communication with the car, the software is not to tell jokes or songs etc, its just for navigations etc, my opinion hope you will not mind, your english accent is super cook, you are cool personality, God bless you carry-on. xxx

Top of the range Golf Highline 1L and base Mercedes A Class very little price difference then it seems. Makes the Golf look even more expensive!
Hi Sinead, great review of a rather fine car. It ticks all the boxes but is just way overpriced. They are better options. The car doesn't seem to understand the Dublin accent so you will have to move to Cork or Tipperary or even Northern Ireland to straighten out that accent of yours! Just joking. Don't take it personally because I think accents are great and if the car doesn't understand what you are saying it's the cars loss not yours. That voice control system was probably designed by Germans whose accent sounds like a typewriter falling down a stairs when they speak. Dylan Moran joke. So that's it, nice car but I wont be buying one. Keep up the great reviews.

I decided that I needed a upgrade from my Ford 😂 I'm loving it atm just hate getting stares off people.
I stopped in Morrison's and on my way back to the car I pulled the handle for the keyless entry and I pulled too early and it dint open then the trolly guy tried stopping me as he thought I was robbing it 😂 I told him it was mine and he basically said bull shit I got in and he shut up 😂😂

GaryGSF eh what? The engine is made in a benz factory....but that was funny....
The 1.3 was developed with renault as was the 1.5 diesel I think, but the 2.0 petrol (the one you want) is mercedes through and through.
I totally agree that the AMG looks like a complete different car from the other range. Great review!
On the Voice control, the car was asked to play POP music, the replay was which genre would you like to hear. It was asked again to play Simply POP.
I don’t think the presenter understood what the car was trying to do which was identify the genre of music you wanted to be played as POP is a very generalistic term it encompasses all sorts of Music and all ages, and types and tastes. What the car was asking was quite simply what type of music and from what decade.
Nothing really to do with accent just understanding as to how the system works.

On the voice control - the system was prompting me to select a genre of music and on the screen it said 'For example, say Pop'
I was saying exactly what it suggested but it still didn't understand. It repeated the question as if I had said nothing.
This was also one example from dozens - I wouldn't have brought attention to it if it was just one small area that it couldn't grasp, it was pretty much every command.

You didn’t mention the Renault engines, the same in the Dacia. This is a Megane. It’s a ripoff.
The engine block is Renault. Rest is engineered and madeby Mercedes. Get your facts straight!
2020 they introduced a Mercedes engine 2.0 with 115 Hp 20nm more torque compared with the 1.5 that Renault produced , also the automatic gearbox German made .
It's ugly and a bit too expensive. For that kind of money I would rather have a Golf GTI.
