we just got the new 2011 jeep liberty...its really nice inside, with leather seats and uconnect, nav, etc....but driving feels like driving a truck or something...kinda loud for SUV.,,,but we love it..its very spacious and lot of room for kids...
nice review!!! --- as much as Consumer Reports hates this SUV, I was actually REALLY surprised when I test drove it, so much so that I bought a used 2011 Sport 4X4 w/20K miles for $17500. Plus you can buy a LIFETIME Powertrain warranty for $750 at a legitimate Chrysler dealer (online). My first full tank of fuel I managed 21.23mpg in mixed city/hwy driving. If only it had a 5 or 6 speed tranny -- oh well, can't have everything!
Not to many true 4x4 out there anymore. This vehicle reminds me of the best suv ever made Isuzu Trooper. Wonder if it goes through the snow like the trooper.
Just picked one up this weekend. Needed a solid vehicle to get me to and fro in all conditions. I read some mixed reviews but I have to agree with Tony on this one. It's a pleasant SUV, rides more comfortable than my GTI MKVI did on these tristate area roads. Thanks Tony!
I know this is an old video, but I'm thinking of getting this car and I always look at your reviews because i think they're the best out there for basic buyers because of the honesty you use in them and just how you can relate to anyone shopping for a car. So If you can or if you see this, can you give me anything more on the vehicle if you remember? Thanks!
***** Hey there! I liked the Liberty - it's a decent everyday driver with off-road capability. You may want to look at the new Renegade - that looks to be a sweet little jeep!
It’s much bigger and very different from the first generation. It’s much more Macho and may not appeal to crossover, sedan people. I love mine. A 2012 with 113k. It has no visible defects and drives great!
I know this is an old video, but I am planning to buy a new car for my wife. i have two choices 1- Jeep liberty 2011 3.7 L 2- Chevrolet Captiva 2011 2.4L what do you think ?? which one is more economy
Very nice hair cut, you look like you're in fantastic shape. I always like the Jeep, although I am not surprise about not having any power on that Liberty. I have drove the Jeep Cherokee numerous time before, no power what so ever but I do like the Cherokee. The Liberty looks great, but not crazy about using lots of juice. By the way, did you know that you have a great smile!
@slyguyaction thanks Sly -- i had fun with the Liberty. By the way, you did a great job with the intro to the Ford Fusion. You should do your own reviews! Tony.
While I respect that Jeep had to make some drastic changes in order to compete with other small SUVs that dominate the market, I prefer the original styling of the Jeep Liberty compared to the newer version. I test drove a 2005 Liberty a few weeks back and I thought it was a great ride! I am in the market for an SUV of some sort to get me through the New England winter such as this on only a Jeep Liberty KJ model, If not, maybe a Jeep Grand Cherokee WJ of a TJ Wrangler!
hi, it's April 2017, I just found this video now, I'm in Australia looking at a 2011 KK Jeep in the used car yard at the moment.. anything I should know before I see a salesman ??? except about the fuel economy? thanks !!
I like them both. You don't see many commanders out there these days. I'd think the liberty would be the safest choice - but I'd have to look at the reliability stats
Beautiful 1308 The Commander has more luxury features like dual zone climate control, power adjustable pedals, and a rear center arm rest. More powerful 4.7 and 5.7 liter V8 engines are available. There is a third row seat which is useful for small people. Being an older design, it might not have the fit and finish of the Liberty, but I don't know for sure. I think the Liberty is decent, and would definitely like to try a Commander.
Got my 1211Jeep Liberty limited mint condition tonight definitely nice! Feels like my 96 jeep grand limited not a car ride but comfortable your vid was spot on truthful I got 180k on my last jeep and could of got 75 more this is a keeper, so I got the 6 yr 100,000 warranty to go the distance😜keep on jeepin!🚙
Our liberty sucks. It has had three transmission replacement in 60k. It drives like an aspirated pig, 0-60 slow as heck. Ride is so bouncy it almost makes you carsick. I would not recommend anyone buy one.
Hmm, yes, I hear about the acceleration. I had 2 other people in the car, in 95 degree summer heat, packed with gear and the AC on, and merging was disappointing. But the bouncy ride is something I prefer over the pothole ridden streets we have in Brooklyn. I've had low profile tires on almost every car that I had before and I've had busted tires, rims, and not a pleasant experience. Sorry about the transmission, that's horrible.
As I have said before, your review is the worst on TH-cam. It seems that you are very proud of your face and how you look. We are interested in the car not your moving lips! Could you move the camera further away from your face so that we can see the car more? Sorry for my harsh tone but when I see your face on the search result every time I search something about cars, I get annoyed.

@ledhit - I really like the Liberty. Thanks for watching my video :)

+yes, nice ride! Enjoy 😊 Jeremy Skeesicfk
Jeremy Skeesicfk do you still have your Liberty? I’m looking at a 2011 with 97,000 miles on it as a second vehicle
keep coming back my man! Thanks!
Great review. I also have a mid-size sport utility like the Liberty and it's similar to drive. Same wind/road/tire noise but comfortable.
I know this is an old video, but I am planning to buy a new car for my wife. i have two choices
1- Jeep liberty 2011 3.7 L
2- Chevrolet Captiva 2011 2.4L
what do you think ?? which one is more economy
+Mohamed Aziz the Captiva will probably cost less to drive - but I'd go with the Jeep
Hi, did you buy the Jeep ?
I just rented it to do the review.
Great job! Much change between the 2011 and the first year of the Liberty remake in '08?
Nice review. I look forward to checking out more of your videos. Cheers, Lance

was this liberty the sky slider? bc u mentioned a bit of wind...Great Video! Thanks!
@slyguyaction thanks Sly -- i had fun with the Liberty. By the way, you did a great job with the intro to the Ford Fusion. You should do your own reviews! Tony.
sky slider? what is that?
Thank You !!!
Thanks for watching!
Any one had issues with loosing antifreeze i had to change the headgaskets on it and hope it as not done other serious damage any thoughts to share..
Previous jeep liberty had same problems
What were the major issues?
@@averageguytested very slow n lots of wind noise. Very bad brakes n a majour gas guzler but one thing. It was very reliable never broke down
Isn't this Jeep a bit heavy for that engine?
It didn’t seem underpowered to me. It’s been a while since I reviewed it tho. Thanks for watching!
