It's a year later and the camper still looks great.. Any paint will collect dust if its in a dusty environment I guess..My camper didn't / doesn't 'collect dust', it still shines.
This was never meant to be a 'best way' to paint a vintage camper, just an inexpensive alternative that looks much better than doing nothing :)

For anyone planning on spray painting anything large, they sell a little tool that goes onto the spray can so you can pull a trigger instead of push down on the little nozzle. It works great and is only like $4 at walmart. =)

To paint this camper... would cost around
$3000. to $4500. easy... I just got an estimate
last week on my small 1972 Aristocrat ... that is
why I'm watching this video... to do it myself.
We are going to save thousands of $$$$...
      Good luck on your project...

rust oleum colects dust ,and can only use rustoleum to repaint or you get a major reactions with other paint products when doing so

Nice job! I did a very similar camper with Rustoleum about 15 years ago, only difference is I rolled it on. It looked pretty good. Saw that camper about a year ago after about 6 years since I sold it and it still looks pretty decent. I think if the owner put some wax on it, it would look new again.

Thank you for the video. I am remodeling an older motor home and was just planning to update the color of the green striping but you make it look pretty easy to do the whole thing. How is it holding up to the weather and washing? Did you sand or prime or clear coat any of it? I used Rustoleum auto primer and dark bronze colored spray paint to update my bright brass living room lamps and they have held up great but they don't get any weather.

Furthermore, how do you suppose a repainting on the camper's roof would be handled so that it appears looking nice to the naked eye, and serves as a purpose to seal out, and protect the roofs' surface from the previously mentioned non-summer (usually wet) spring seasons? All and any suggestions are appreciated. A method for using a product known as "gorilla grip" and applying it according to manufacturers directions is mentioned in a TH-cam video. Thank you once again for your video and demo

you want to be spraying before you're on the object your painting you never want to pull the trigger while directly on what your painting you'll get splatters you want have a continuous flow and if you stop pull the trigger off of what your painting and then come to it.
